Storm obtain Langhorne from Mystics

Uncasville, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Storm acquired two-time All- Star forward Crystal Langhorne from the Washington Mystics in a trade conducted during Monday's WNBA draft.

In exchange for Langhorne, the league's Most Improved Player in 2009, the Storm dealt the rights to 2014 first-round pick Bria Hartley and their 2013 first-round selection, forward Tianna Hawkins.

Seattle had drafted Hartley, a 5-foot-8 shooting guard who recently helped Connecticut to a perfect 40-0 season and a national championship, seventh overall in Monday's first round.

Langhorne has averaged 12.9 points and 7.1 rebounds over six WNBA seasons, all with the Mystics, and posted 12.0 points and 7.2 boards while starting all 34 games in 2013. The 6-foot-2 Maryland product was taken by Washington with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2008 draft.

The 27-year-old averaged a career-best 18.2 points over 31 games in 2011 to earn All-Star honors for a second straight year.

Hartley averaged 16.2 points, 4.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds as a senior for the Huskies and is one of only three players to compile 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists for the powerhouse UConn program, joining former WNBA MVP Diana Taurasi and current Minnesota Lynx star Maya Moore.

Hawkins, taken sixth overall by the Storm last year, averaged 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 33 games as a rookie.
