=== Blazers put streak on line in test with Suns ===
( - The Portland Trail Blazers will put their 11-game
winning streak on the line Wednesday night when they visit US Airways Center
to take on the Phoenix Suns.
One of Portland's two losses came at the hands of the Suns. Phoenix beat the
Blazers by 13 at home opening night, but Portland avenged the setback on Nov.
 13 with a one-point home victory.
That's right, this will be the third meeting between the two teams already
 this season.
 Portland's 13-2 mark ties for the team's second-best record through 15 games
in franchise history. The Blazers went 14-1 in the 1990-91 campaign, and 13-2
 in the 1999-2000 season.
The Blazers 11-game winning streak matches the San Antonio Spurs for the
longest current run. Portland, San Antonio and Indiana all have 13 wins and
all three are in action on Wednesday.
The Trail Blazers' most recent victory came on Monday when they held off the
New York Knicks, 102-91. Portland buried the Knicks, 34-18, in the first
quarter, but actually lost the second half by six.
"I was really pleased with the way we set the tone in the first quarter
particularly at the defensive end, and we maintained that throughout the first
half. I thought that was a great effort," said Blazers coach Terry Stotts.
Damian Lillard and Nicolas Batum paced Portland with 23 points apiece.
LaMarcus Aldridge had 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Wesley Matthews chipped
 in 17.
Mo Williams was suspended against the Knicks for his role in a scuffle
Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors.
Phoenix tried to sweep a three-game road trip, but came up against the two-
time defending champion Miami Heat on Monday. They had beaten the Charlotte
Bobcats and Orlando Magic before succumbing to the Heat, 107-92.
"They have so many weapons," Goran Dragic said of the Heat. "They have a
 feeling they can do anything."
Channing Frye led the Suns with 16 points. Dragic added 14, followed by 13
from Marcus Morris, and 12 apiece from Gerald Green and Markieff Morris. P.J.
Tucker chipped in 10 points for the Suns, who shot under 40 percent from the
field and 25 percent from the 3-point line.
The Suns will stage a home-and-home series with the Utah Jazz on Friday and
Phoenix has taken four of the last six against the Blazers and five straight
 at home in this series.
