Syracuse's Reed named MISL Player of Week

Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - Syracuse Silver Knights goalkeeper Eric Reed was named the Major Indoor Soccer League's Player of the Week on Tuesday for the second week of the 2011-12 season.

Reed recorded 32 saves, helping hold the Norfolk SharX and Baltimore Blast to seven points apiece in a pair of victories that saw the Silver Knights move to 3-0 this season.

Reed had 15 saves in a 23-7 win Friday night against Norfolk, and had 17 saves in an 18-7 win against Baltimore on Saturday.

In the weekend's other matches, the Missouri Comets beat the Rochester Lancers 13-4 on Saturday, and defending MISL champion Milwaukee Wave edged the Wichita Wings 15-13 on Sunday.

Baltimore visits Missouri on Friday to kick off the upcoming week's action and the Blast also play Saturday at Wichita. Syracuse visits Rochester and Norfolk visits Milwaukee in Saturday's other games, while Milwaukee visits Missouri in Sunday's only match.
