Demong, Lodwick among 4 selected for U.S. Nordic Combined Team

Park City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Olympic medalists Billy Demong and Todd Lodwick were among four athletes selected to the U.S. Olympic Nordic Combined Team for the 2014 Sochi Games.

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association announced their selections on Wednesday, with brothers Taylor and Bryan Fletcher rounding out the four-man squad.

"This team is a perfect mixture of Olympic veterans and young talent," said Dave Jarrett, Nordic combined head coach. "Demong and Lodwick have proven Olympic results that have set the bar high for the next generation to follow."

The team made history at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, winning the first-ever Nordic combined medals for the USA.

Lodwick will be making his record-breaking sixth appearance at the Winter Games.
