London, England (Sports Network) - Iceland edged France in men's handball Saturday to secure the top spot in Group A.
Both teams have already done enough in pool play to earn berths in the quarterfinals, but Iceland improved to 4-0 with the 30-29 victory. Alexander Petersson scored the decisive goal in the 59th minute, capping a three-score run that gave his team the victory.
Also on Saturday, Croatia topped Denmark to move to 4-0 in Group B. It needs one point from its final match against Spain to clinch first place in the group.
Both Croatia and Denmark have already claimed a place in the quarterfinals.
Sweden will also be advancing to the knockout stage following Saturday's 29-13 victory over Argentina. In the final Group A match, Tunisia kept Great Britain winless with a 34-17 rout.
In Group B, Spain topped Hungary and Serbia beat South Korea, which is now out of the running for the quarterfinals.
The final group play matches take place Monday.
