Description: Toronto defenseman Cody Franson (lower body) will not play Saturday night, according to Chris Johnston of sportsnet.ca.
Insight: Franson limped to the team bus after Friday's game and couldn't make it through warmups Saturday. The 26-year-old has zero goals, 13 assists, 37 SOG and 10 PIM in 26 games this season and is not a good fantasy option.

Description: Toronto defenseman Cody Franson notched two goals Monday in a Game 7 loss to Boston.
Insight: What a crushing defeat for the Maple Leafs, who were ahead 4-1 with just over 11 minutes to play. For what it's worth, Franson had an excellent series (three goals, three assists, 15 shots on goal).

Description: The Nashville Predators sent Matthew Lombardi and Cody Franson to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Brett Lebda and Robert Slaney. TSN
Insight: This deal appears one-sided in Toronto's favor, so the only explanation can be that Nashville is trying to free up money to sign Shea Weber and the RFAs that may not have received their qualifying offers properly. Lombardi played only two games with the Predators last season with a concussion, while Franson has a bright future as a possible power-play QB for the Leafs.

Description: The Nashville Predators have re-signed defenseman Cody Franson to a two-year contract worth $1.6 million. TSN
Insight: Franson scored 21 points (6g-15a) with a +15 in 61 games last season. With Dan Hamhuis leaving for Vancouver, Franson has an opportunity for more icetime this season. He proved to have offensive upside in the WHL, so he could be a deep sleeper possibility this season.

Description: The Nashville Predators have announced the signing of defenseman Cody Franson to a two-year, $1.6 million contract.
Insight: With the departure of Dan Hamhuis this offseason, look for Franson to see an increased workload, making him a valuable pickup in later rounds. (RapidDraft.com)
