(Monday, December 26th)

Final Score: Minnesota 4, Edmonton 1

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Brian Rolston, Pascal Dupuis and Todd White tallied a goal and assist apiece as the Minnesota Wild ended the Oilers' season-high five-game winning streak with 4-1 victory at Rexall Place.

Marian Gaborik notched a goal and Manny Fernandez made 27 saves for the Wild, who have won two straight and four of their last five games.

Fernando Pisani scored Edmonton's only goal and Ty Conklin stopped 19 shots for the Oilers, who square off against Minnesota again on Wednesday.

"The guys were looking around and finding the open guys well," Minnesota head coach Jacques Lemaire said. "They were able to stop them from shooting at times and when they did have shots, Manny (Fernandez) was there to make the saves."

Edmonton drew first blood with 5:49 left in the first period while on a two- man advantage after Pisani deflected a shot past Fernandez for his 11th tally of the year to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead.

Minnesota drew even 8:47 into the second period while on the power play after Dupuis deflected a shot from the high slot past Conklin to make it 1-1.

The Wild took their first lead of the game after Gaborik beat Conklin with a wrist shot from inside the right circle for a 2-1 advantage.

Minnesota made it 3-1 with just over six minutes gone in the third period after Rolston finished a two-on-one rush by beating Conklin with a one-timer from below the left circle for a shorthanded tally.

Todd White added an empty net goal with 51 seconds left in the game for the final margin of victory.
