NHL Game Summary - Anaheim at Boston

(Monday, December 20th)

Final Score: Anaheim 3, Boston 0

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Jonas Hiller made 45 saves for his second shutout of the season to help the Anaheim Ducks take a 3-0 win over the Boston Bruins.

Brandon McMillan had a goal and an assist while Lubomir Visnovsky and Corey Perry each had a goal for the Ducks, who had dropped their previous two.

"We had two games before this where we were behind the eight-ball early," said Anaheim head coach Randy Carlyle. "We wanted to come out with a good start and we accomplished that tonight."

Tim Thomas gave up all three goals on 25 shots for the Bruins, who have lost four of their last five.

"We had all the reasons in the world to compete tonight and we just didn't do it," said Boston head coach Claude Julien. "We have to be a lot better than that if we want to compete the way we want to compete."

Anaheim got the only goal it needed 5:57 in. Luca Sbisa kept the puck in near the blueline and sent it on net from the left point. McMillan grabbed the puck and flung it into the open net for the 1-0 lead.

Visnovsky scored on a slap shot at the 4:45 mark of the second for his fifth goal of the year and a 2-0 lead.

Skating shorthanded, the Ducks took a 3-0 advantage thanks to Perry's 17th goal of the season.

Hiller stopped nine shots in the first period and made 18 saves in each of the last two periods to preserve the shutout.
