NHL Game Summary - Anaheim at Chicago

(Sunday, November 14th)

Final Score: Chicago 3, Anaheim 2 (OT)

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Viktor Stalberg's redirection of a Duncan Keith slapshot with 27.8 seconds remaining in overtime lifted the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-2 victory over the Ducks, who saw their six-game win streak come to an end.

As time wound down, Keith corralled the puck at the left point and fired a shot toward the net. Stalberg and Dave Bolland were both stationed in front of the net, and Stalberg was able to get his stick on the puck and sneak it past Jonas Hiller for the win.

"We killed a penalty off in overtime and took it to them," Stalberg said. "We got a couple shifts in their end, and it was a great play by (Keith), and I just got my stick on it."

Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa also scored for the Blackhawks, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Corey Crawford made 24 saves in the victory.

Corey Perry scored both Anaheim goals, although the Ducks failed at a chance to match their longest win streak in franchise history. Hiller stopped 40- of-43 shots in defeat.

"We didn't play the way we really wanted to play, and we haven't played that way in awhile," Perry said. "We got a point out of it, and we have to take the positive out of it."

Chicago took the lead 3:37 into the game on Kane's seventh goal of the year. Sharp took a slapshot from the right point, and the puck sailed wide as it pulled Hiller out of position. The disc took a fortunate bounce off the back boards right to Kane, who fired it into the empty net from the left circle.

The Ducks tied it up less than a minute later. The Blackhawks looked to move the puck up ice after a failed Anaheim rush, but the lone Ducks player backchecking was Jason Blake, who lifted the stick of a Chicago player, which sent the puck right to Perry. Perry skated in on net unchallenged and fired a wrister past Crawford at 4:34.

The score remained square until the 11:24 mark of the second, when the Blackhawks went ahead on the power play. Hossa took a shot from the right circle that was initially stopped by Hiller, but a second-effort backhand found its way into the net for a 2-1 lead.

Perry was able to tie the game again 3:36 into the third with a pinpoint wrister from the right side that hit the top left corner.
