Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Tomas Plekanec's goal 3:32 into overtime gave the Montreal Canadiens a 2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning at St. Pete Times Forum.
In the extra session, a turnover in the Montreal end resulted in Plekanec picking up the puck in the neutral zone. He skated down the other end on a 2- on-1 with Mike Cammalleri and from the right circle wristed the puck past Mike Smith for the win.
Brian Gionta scored in regulation while Carey Price made 34 stops for the Canadiens, who have won five of their last six.
Kurtis Foster scored the lone goal for the Lightning, who had won four of five coming into the contest. Smith made 33 stops in the loss.
After a scoreless first period, the Habs took a 1-0 lead halfway through the second period as Gionta's wrister from down low gave the team a 1-0 lead.
The Lightning, though, tied the game 3:52 into the third on a slap shot from Foster, his sixth goal of the season.
Montreal wraps up its seven-game road trip in Florida on Thursday...Tampa hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday...The Lightning took a 3-1 decision in Montreal on November 7.
