Blackhawks extend Bollig for three years

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with forward Brandon Bollig on a three-year contract extension Monday.

Signed by the Blackhawks as an undrafted free agent in April 2010, Bollig has seen his most extensive playing time with the club this season. He has totaled six goals, six assists and a team-best 138 hits in 62 games for the defending Stanley Cup champions.

"We take a great amount of pride in having watched Brandon come up through our system and become a big part of our lineup on a daily basis", Blackhawks vice president and general manager Stan Bowman said in a statement. "We are pleased to be able to come to this agreement with him, ensuring that he will remain a part of our organization. We look forward to seeing his continued development with the Blackhawks."

Bollig, 27, did not record a point in 43 combined games with Chicago over the previous two seasons.
