Description: Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plains Dealer continues to claim that Brandon Jackson and not Montario Hardesty is the No. 2 back for the Browns. Jackson had the better night against Philadelphia with seven carries for 34 yards while Hardesty managed eight carries for 12 yards.
Insight: Others still believe Hardesty is No. 2 behind Trent Richardson. With Richardson coming off a knee scope and likely limited early on this season, it's important to get to the truth. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Description: According to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plains Dealer, running back Brandon Jackson and not Montario Hardesty is the No. 2 back for the Browns.
Insight: If true, then Jackson has late-round value as a handcuff to rookie Trent Richardson. Hardesty will have to fight off Chris Ogbonnaya for the No. 3 roster spot and Ogbonnaya is a better special teams guy.

Description: Browns LG Eric Steinbach and RB Brandon Jackson are both in danger of missing the entire 2011 season with back and turf toe injuries, respectively. SOURCE: CLEVELAND PLAIN-DEALER
Insight: Sheesh... when will the Browns catch a break??? Coach Pat Shurmur conceded that both would miss an "extended period," and Steinbach may need surgery. A back operation would end Steinbach's season, and many believe Steinback is the Browns best overall offensive lineman. Jackson, meanwhile, is in a hard cast and he could "take significant time" to return.

Description: Brandon Jackson (turf toe) is out indefinitely. Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer
Insight: Turf toe injuries can nag and persist all season long (just ask LaDainian Tomlinson). There's no timetable for return, so Peyton Hillis's workload would increase as he'd see third-down work on the field now, if Jackson were to miss regular season time.
3/7/2011 12:58:00 PM
Description: Just like WR James Jones, the Packers did RFA tender WR Brandon Jackson. SOURCE: PRO FOOTBALL TALK
Insight: The tender could prove worthless just like Jones' because Jackson also has four years accrued. Green Bay may still value Jackson's pass-catching ability, but he doesn't really add much to the running game.

Description: Free agent RB Brandon Jackson said he wants to return to Green Bay if the team wants him back. SOURCE: ESPNMILWAUKEE.COM
Insight: Jackson is still a much better pass blocker than James Starks, so that could be a factor. Also, it's not known whether Jackson will be an unrestricted or restricted free agent because of the status of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. If Jackson leaves, he's not good enough to contend for a starting spot elsewhere.

Description: 43 total snaps in the post-season. That's what Packers RB Brandon Jackson has seen in these playoffs, but Jackson is keeping a positive attitude heading into the Super Bowl. SOURCE: CBS SPORTS
Insight: "I'm blessed," he said at media day. "This is a great opportunity for me to continue to play on a high stage. I can't get down because I can't control it." Jackson has six carries for 28 yards in three playoff games. Jackson was the starter for 13 games this season, but he has seen a drastically reduced role in the playoffs in favor of rookie RB James Starks.

Description: Free agent RB Brandon Jackson is still not expected to be back with the Packers next season. SOURCE: WISCONSIN STATE JOURNAL
Insight: Jackson already knows he's gone, saying he "enjoyed my opportunities here" several weeks ago. Ryan Grant should be back for the last year of his deal and rookie James Starks is expected to be more involved. The team could have Dimitri Nance, John Kuhn and a rookie battle for the No. 3 spot.

Description: RB Brandon Jackson spoke to the media as if he will not be re-signed in the offseason. SOURCE: MILWAUKEE JOURNAL-SENTINEL
Insight: "I really don't know what's going to happen. But if it's here, I'm glad to be here. If it's somewhere else, then I'll take it somewhere else." Twice Jackson had a chance at solidifying a lead-back role in Green Bay and he failed miserably. He averaged a measly 3.7 yards a carry and ended up splitting time with John Kuhn, then James Starks. If Starks can continue his rise after last week's Eagles game, and improve on his blocking, we could see a bigger role next season. There has been no talks of the Packers cutting Ryan Grant with one year left on his deal, so we could see a Grant/Starks combo in 2011.
12/6/2010 6:05:00 PM
Description: Mike Vandermause of the Green Bay Press Gazette reports Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy said he'd like to have a three-man rotation at RB between Jackson, James Starks and Dmitri Nance.
Insight: McCarthy referred to Jackson as the "main guy", but Starks stated his case for an increased role with 73 yards on 18 carries on Sunday against the 49ers. (RapidDraft.com)
11/29/2010 3:02:00 PM
Description: Jackson had 10 carries for 26 yards and three catches for 10 yards against the Falcons on Sunday.
Insight: Jackson seems to be the Packers' primary running back, for whatever that's worth. He is nothing more than a matchup play at this point. (RapidDraft.com)
11/8/2010 10:02:00 AM
Description: Jackson had 13 carries for 42 yards and a touchdown along with four catches for 26 yards and a touchdown against Dallas on Sunday night.
Insight: Jackson has been fairly productive over the last month of so, as he appears to cleary be the Packers' best RB with Ryan Grant (ankle) out. (RapidDraft.com)
11/1/2010 11:02:00 AM
Description: Jackson had 15 carries for 55 yards and two catches for 17 yards against the Jets on Sunday.
Insight: Jackson has now had four straight games with at least 10 carries, and appears to be Green Bay's primary running back. (RapidDraft.com)
10/25/2010 12:05:00 PM
Description: Jackson had 13 carries for 58 yards and a touchdown with three catches for 46 yards against Minnesota on Sunday night.
Insight: Jackson has a solid day against what is usually a tough Vikings' run defense, and could make for a usable flex play at times. (RapidDraft.com)
10/11/2010 11:00:00 AM
Description: Jackson had 10 carries for 115 yards along with five catches for 25 yards against Washington on Sunday.
Insight: Jackson had a 71-yard run, which skewed his yardage total. He is worth hanging onto in fantasy leagues, just don't expect big production. (RapidDraft.com)
9/28/2010 10:05:00 AM
Description: Jackson had seven carries for 12 yards along with four receptions for 27 yards against the Bears on Monday night.
Insight: No Green Bay running back made a big impact in the game, as Aaron Rodgers threw the ball 45 times. That looks likely to be the Packers' offensive game plan going forward without Ryan Grant. (RapidDraft.com)
9/28/2010 2:22:00 AM
Description: Packers RB Brandon Jackson was, again, a non-factor in Green Bay's 20-17 loss to Chicago Monday night, rushing for just 12 yards on seven carries.
Insight: He did catch four passes for 27 yards, but that's what he's known for. He's supposed to be the third-down specialist, catching passes in space and making people miss. He's not a downhill runner and this will surely force the Packers hand to either make a trade or wait for James Starks to come off the PUP list.
9/22/2010 8:04:00 AM
Description: The Packers are not expected to use RB Brandon Jackson as a carry-the-load running back going forward. SOURCE: ESPN MILWAUKEE
Insight: We expected as much, but owners can't even sell high on Jackson after his mediocre 2.6 yard carry average against the Bills. Hopefully, owners didn't overpay for him since he is now expected to share carries with John Kuhn and Dimitri Nance.
9/22/2010 1:01:00 AM
Description: ESPN Milwaukee.com reports Packers' head coach Mike McCarthy and offensive coordinator Joe Philbin said they don't see Jackson as a "carry-the-load" back going forward.
Insight: John Kuhn and Dimitri Nance look likely to be in the mix for carries for Green Bay, which limits Jackson's fantasy potential. (RapidDraft.com)
9/20/2010 12:02:00 PM
Description: Jackson had 11 carries for 29 yards and a touchdown along with one catch for 10 yards in the Packers' win over the Bills on Sunday.
Insight: Jackson was not particularly impressive in place of Ryan Grant (right ankle), so the Packers may still be in the market for a running back. (RapidDraft.com)
