Description: San Diego receiver Eddie Royal was a big part of the Chargers offense Sunday, seeing 10 targets and catching six of them for 69 yards.
Insight: Royal had a surprisingly good season with San Diego last year with 47 receptions for 631 and eight TDs. The return of Malcom Floyd hasn't changed that at all and Royal could be a WR3.

12/8/2013 3:48:00 PM
Description: San Diego receiver Eddie Royal is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Insight: Royal sat out last week with a chest injury. He got off to a hot start with five touchdowns in his first two games but has only scored twice since then.

12/1/2013 3:22:00 PM
Description: Chargers wideout Eddie Royal is inactive for Sunday's game against Cincinnati.
Insight: He's battling a chest injury. The only San Diego wide receiver worth starting in fantasy is Keenan Allen.

Description: The Chargers have downgraded Eddie Royal to doubtful ahead of Sunday's game against Cincinnati. SOURCE: Michael Gehlken, San Diego Union-Tribune
Insight: He's battling a chest injury. The only San Diego receiver worth starting in fantasy is Keenan Allen.

11/24/2013 12:06:00 PM
Description: Chargers receiver Eddie Royal (foot) is active for Week 12.
Insight: Royal has been held down by the injury, catching just four balls for 56 yards over the past two weeks. His fantasy value has dropped to its lowest level of the season and many fantasy owners are rightfully not starting him.

11/8/2013 4:50:00 PM
Description: Chargers receiver Eddie Royal (foot) is questionable for Week 10.
Insight: Royal has been questionable for each of the last two games but played both and had at least 56 yards and a touchdown in both. His fantasy value is entirely dependent on whether or not he scores.

11/3/2013 11:46:00 AM
Description: Chargers receiver Eddie Royal is active for Week 9.
Insight: After grabbing five touchdowns over the first two games, Royal has done little over the past five contests. He did put up double digits in the game before the Chargers went on bye.

9/22/2013 6:24:00 PM
Description: Chargers receiver Eddie Royal caught two passes for 34 yards against the Titans in Week 3.
Insight: Welcome back to Earth. After grabbing five touchdowns over the first two games, Royal was only targeted twice Sunday. It's tougher to produce when the defense keys in on you. Royal actually led Chargers wideouts but was fourth on the team in yards . Running back Danny Woodhead and tight ends Antonio Gates and Ladarius Green combined for 158 yards.

9/15/2013 5:42:00 PM
Description: With three more touchdowns Sunday at Philadelphia, Chargers receiver Eddie Royal tied his career high for a season.
Insight: Royal shockingly has five touchdowns in the first two games this season. He scored that many combined in his previous four NFL seasons after grabbing five as a rookie. While Royal isn't likely to keep this up, he clearly has the favor of quarterback Philip Rivers.

9/9/2013 11:49:00 AM
Description: San Diego wideout Eddie Royal is probable for Monday night's game with Houston after practicing all week.
Insight: Royal suffered a concussion and a chest injury in preseason, but should be ready to go. He'll be the slot receiver with Malcom Floyd and Vincent Brown starting on the outside.

8/17/2013 8:48:00 PM
Description: San Diego wideout Eddie Royal suffered a concussion as well as a bruised lung Saturday at practice.
Insight: Chargers receivers are dropping like flies this summer. First it was Danario Alexander (torn ACL), then it was Malcom Floyd (sprained knee) and now Royal is the latest Chargers wideout to go down. Philip Rivers' job as quarterback just got a whole lot tougher.

8/17/2013 2:49:00 PM
Description: Chargers receiver Eddie Royal left Saturday's practice in an ambulance, according to Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union Tribune.
Insight: Royal apparently hit the ground hard in 11-on-11 drills and he fell again on his way back to the locker room.

12/2/2012 3:35:00 PM
Description: San Diego receiver Eddie Royal won't play Sunday against Cincinnati. He's been suffering from an injured hamstring.
Insight: Even if Royal was healthy, we wouldn't recommend him in fantasy.

11/23/2012 9:19:00 PM
Description: San Diego receiver Eddie Royal won't play Sunday against Baltimore. He's been suffering from an injured hamstring.
Insight: Even if Royal was healthy, we wouldn't recommend him in fantasy.

11/11/2012 12:06:00 PM
Description: Chargers wideout Eddie Royal is active for Week 10 against Tampa Bay.
Insight: Royal has yet to post more than 31 yards or three catches in a game this season. At this point, fantasy owners have to let him sit on the bench until he proves worthy of a starting spot.

8/2/2012 10:30:00 AM
Description: Chargers wideout Eddie Royal was not at practice due to personal reasons.
Insight: Royal was a fantasy non-factor last year with a career-low 19 receptions and only 155 receiving yards. He's got a much better quarterback for 2012 in Philip Rivers, but will probably need an injury to Robert Meachem to be a fantasy starter. The latest knee problem suffered by Meachem at practice on Wednesday doesn't appear too serious.

3/16/2012 10:23:00 AM
Description: Eddie Royal has inked a three-year, $13.5 million deal with the Chargers.
Insight: Royal was useless in Denver last season, finishing with a career-low 19 receptions and only 155 receiving yards. He didn't have the most accurate quarterback in the world throwing to him and he was hurt for a stretch, so we'll cut Royal a little slack. His stats should improve in 2012 but he's still behind Robert Meachem and Malcolm Floyd on San Diego's depth chart.

9/19/2011 2:58:00 PM
Description: Eddie Royal is expected to miss 2-4 weeks after straining his groin in the Broncos' Week 2 win over the Bengals. Source: Denver Post
Insight: I think the Broncos and Raiders have a bet on who can have the most injuries to wide receivers this year. The reason for the length probably has to due with the type of injury and its lingering effects. Eric Decker should be at the top of your waiver wire rankings this week. It's safe to drop Royal.

2/8/2011 4:00:00 PM
Description: The Broncos confirmed Monday that Eddie Royal is recovering from an offseason hip procedure.
Insight: The team is looking for Royal to return for OTAs in May, but CBS 4 in Denver believes it will be about 6 months. It appears as if the procedure was major and could have the potential to affect his availability for the start of training camp. (RapidDraft.com)

2/8/2011 11:28:00 AM
Description: It's been confirmed by the Broncos that WR Eddie Royal is currently recovering from offseason hip surgery. SOURCE: ESPN.COM
Insight: It's being speculated that Royal could miss up to six months, which would put his status for the start of training camp in jeopardy. This could pave the way for Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker to see even more time with the first-team offense if the offseason goes as planned.
