10/23/2014 5:24:00 PM
Description: Bears tight end Martellus Bennett returned to practice on Thursday according to the Chicago Tribune.
Insight: Bennett got a limited practice session in on Thursday, so he is on track to play in Week 8. He has not scored since Week 3, but he continues to get catches and yards. If someone other than Matt Forte scores against New England this week, it will likely be Bennett since the giant Bears receivers draw Darrelle Revis.

10/22/2014 2:57:00 PM
Description: Bears tight end Martellus Bennett (hamstring) was absent from Wednesday's practice.
Insight: He played his normal amount of stats during Week 7 against Miami, so it is tough to figure out when he got hurt. Assuming Bennett is able to return to practice this week, he will be a low-end TE1 for Week 8 against the Patriots.

10/19/2014 7:02:00 PM
Description: Bears tight end Martellus Bennett had 58 receiving yards on Sunday versus Miami.
Insight: Bennett had five catches but did not score as Matt Forte scored both of the Chicago touchdowns. He is still a TE1 in all formets.

10/13/2014 5:54:00 PM
Description: Bears tight end Martellus Bennett had 52 receiving yards during Sunday's win against Atlanta.
Insight: He did so on four catches. While his numbers have took a little bit of a hit over the past two weeks, Bennett maintains his TE1 status, in Chicago's high-octane offense.

9/28/2014 5:01:00 PM
Description: Bears tight end Martellus Bennett led the team with 11 targets, nine catches and 134 receiving yards against the Packers in Week 4.
Insight: Bennett nearly scored as well, but the Packers tackled him near the goal line as time expired in the first half. Bennett has definitely become a TE1 and is close to stud status. He must be in the lineup every single week.

8/10/2014 7:29:00 PM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett has been reinstated.
Insight: The Bears suspended him indefinitely for getting into an on-field fight with rookie first-round pick Kyle Fuller. His suspension lasted five days. The 27-year-old has the physical tools to be a top tight end, but he's behind Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffery and Matt Forte in the passing hierarchy. His 2013 numbers -- 65 catches, 759 yards, five touchdowns -- represent his 2014 ceiling.

8/5/2014 2:34:00 PM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett has been fined and suspended by the Bears for "conduct detrimental to the team."
Insight: We don't know for how long, but it appears to be the result of an altercation with rookie Kyle Fuller at Monday's practice. He remains a low-end TE1, unless these problems continue.

11/17/2013 12:24:00 PM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett (ankle) is active Sunday against the Ravens.
Insight: Bennett has been banged up this season but hasn't missed any time. However, his production has waned over the last three weeks and the Ravens have shut down opposing tight ends over the last four games. He's a low-end TE1.

10/20/2013 11:59:00 AM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) missed practice during the week, but will be in uniform for Sunday's game with Washington.
Insight: Bennett had 10 days to recover from his sore knee and is ready to go. He's been a reliable tight end option for five of six weeks and against the Redskins he should make that six for seven.

10/16/2013 7:06:00 PM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Insight: Bennett suffered a knee injury in Week 5 but was able to play four days later last Thursday against the Giants and had six catches. He should be able to play in Week 7 against the Redskins and is a top-10 tight end option.

10/10/2013 7:04:00 PM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) is active for Thursday's game against the Giants.
Insight: Bennett's knee injury isn't considered serious but the quick turnaround from Sunday's game put his status in question. He has a great matchup Thursday and fantasy owners can roll with him as a top-12 tight end against his former team.

10/9/2013 7:06:00 PM
Description: Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) is headed for a game-time call Thursday against New York. SOURCE: ESPN Chicago
Insight: The short turnaround after Sunday's loss to New Orleans certainly doesn't make things easy for Bennett's fantasy owners. If Bennett can play through the pain, he should be good for at least a touchdown against the hapless Giants.

Hot9/19/2013 3:46:00 PM
Description: Bears TE Martellus Bennett (shoulder) fully participated in Thursday's practice.
Insight: Bennett was limited Wednesday but was never expected to miss Sunday's game. The tight end has been a favorite receiver of Jay Cutler in the red zone so far and has three TDs in two games.

Hot9/17/2013 12:45:00 PM
Description: Bears TE Martellus Bennett pulled in seven passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against Minnesota, but also came out of the game with a sore shoulder.
Insight: Bennett is expected to play in Week 3. He already has three touchdowns in two games after scoring five all last year. QB Jay Cutler should continue to look his way in the red zone and he's a viable target after Brandon Marshall and Matt Forte.

Hot9/15/2013 6:13:00 PM
Description: Bears TE Martellus Bennett pulled in seven passes for 76 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against Minnesota.
Insight: Bennett already has three touchdowns in two games after scoring five last year. QB Jay Cutler should continue to look his way in the red zone and as a No. 2 target after Brandon Marshall.

3/12/2013 4:51:00 PM
Description: According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bears have reached an agreement on a four-year deal with tight end Martellus Bennett.
Insight: Bennett caught 55 passes for 626 yards and five touchdowns for New York last season. Chicago hasn't used its tight ends much in the offense since Greg Olsen left but that's likely due to its personnel at that position and issues on the offensive line that forced tight ends to pass block.

12/10/2012 2:56:00 PM
Description: Giants tight end Martellus Bennett has reached the end zone in two straight games after failing to hit paydirt from Week 4-12.
Insight: Bennett also has five receptions in each of the last two games. He's back in the TE1 discussion for Week 15.

10/12/2012 1:13:00 PM
Description: Giants tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) is at practice on Friday along with wideout Hakeem Nicks (knee).
Insight: Having both Nicks and Bennett in the lineup against the tough 49ers defense would be a huge boost. Eli Manning's value would jump the most, but with Victor Cruz, Nicks and Bennett on the field things could open up for Ahmad Bradshaw too.

10/11/2012 5:35:00 PM
Description: Giants tight end Martellus Bennett (knee) worked with trainers on the sideline Thursday and also put in a very limited session in practice.
Insight: Bennett said Wednesday that he expects to play Sunday against the 49ers. The tight end suffered a hyperextended knee last week against the Browns but he returned to the game to block as Ahmad Bradshaw churned out 200 yards. Bennett may play the same role this week if he suits up so he's a risky fantasy play.

10/9/2012 12:05:00 PM
Description: Giants tight end Martellus Bennett, who left Sunday's game in the first quarter with what appears to be a hyperextended left knee and returned to help block for Bradshaw, will get an MRI on the knee on Tuesday.
Insight: Bennett had caught a touchdown in three of the first four games this season and has 19 receptions for 217 yards. With the Giants receivers hurting, Bennett is a solid play when healthy.
