8/23/2014 9:34:00 PM
Description: Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 13-of-21 passes for 119 yards and an interception in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys.
Insight: Miami's offense gained 232 yards with Tannehill under center against Dallas, but it yielded only three points due to turnovers and penalties. Tannehill's worst throw was his last when he stared down Brian Hartline and threw it right to cornerback Tyler Patmon. The quarterback also missed an open Mike Wallace on a deep pass by a good five yards. However, Tannehill is still a good QB2 option as he has gone 29-for-41 for 291 yards, one touchdown and an interception this preseason.
8/8/2014 8:41:00 PM
Description: Playing without starters Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Charles Clay, Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill went 6-of-6 for 62 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons.
Insight: Tannehill was sacked 10 times more than any other quarterback in the NFL last season, Miami had an ineffective running game and offensive coordinator Mike Sherman was painfully uncreative with high-priced receiver Mike Wallace, but Tannehill still threw for 3,913 yards and 24 touchdowns while running for 238 yards. The Dolphins brought in Bill Lazor from Philadelphia to run the offense and rebuilt the offensive line with Branden Albert and Ja'Wuan James, so Tannehill could have a breakout third season.
8/7/2014 11:42:00 AM
Description: Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel has set what he calls "realistic" statistical goals for Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill at 4,100 yards, 28 TDs, 12 INTs and a playoff berth.
Insight: The Dolphins quarterback would need a lot of help from a rebuilt offensive line to reach thoses numbers. He was sacked a league-high 58 times in 2013. TSN is predicting a less-lofty 3,620 yards, 22 TDs, 16 INTs and two rushing touchdowns.
7/25/2014 11:25:00 AM
Description: According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins will add the read-option to the offense this season.
Insight: The Dolphins QB is athletic and this could lead to more rushing yards and touchdown opportunities. It could also open him up to more injuries. Tannehill was much improved in Year 2 and could be a viable fantasy starter this season if he continues his upward trend.

Description: Ryan Tannehill will have his knee tested on Monday. SOURCE: Albert Breer, NFL Network
Insight: The Dolphins QB bowed out of Sunday's game early and now he might need an MRI. With Miami's season on the line, it's going to take something pretty major for him to sit out next week's game against the Jets.
Hot12/22/2013 3:30:00 PM
Description: Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill left Sunday's game at Buffalo in the fourth quarter.
Insight: Matt Moore has come on after Tannehill was sacked six times. Tannehill is questionable to return with a left knee injury, according to Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He's thrown for just 82 yards on 10-of-21 passing and Miami is down 13-0.
Hot12/15/2013 5:28:00 PM
Description: Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill exceeded 20 fantasy points for the third straight game Sunday against New England with 312 yards and three scores.
Insight: Tannehill quietly has thrown eight touchdowns with just two interceptions in that span. He's thrown for 300-plus yards three times in the last four games.
12/17/2012 6:35:00 PM
Description: Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns with zero picks Sunday against the Jaguars.
Insight: Tannehill lost a fumble, so he wasn't entirely flawless, but it was still his best fantasy game of the season. He had a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 3-6 in his previous five games. The rookie shouldn't be trusted in Week 16 versus Buffalo.
11/11/2012 5:32:00 PM
Description: Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill struggled mightily against a poor pass defense Sunday against the Titans, throwing three picks and zero touchdowns.
Insight: Tannehill's performance against one of the league's worst pass defenses will likely make you question using him going forward. He's going to have to prove himself to fantasy owners again.
11/4/2012 11:52:00 AM
Description: Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill (bruised knee) is active and will start Sunday against the Colts.
Insight: Employ Tannehill as you usually would. Injured wideout Brian Hartline (groin) is also available for the Dolphins. He had been a game-time decision.
11/4/2012 10:12:00 AM
Description: Injured Miami QB Ryan Tannehill is expected to start Sunday's game against Indianapolis according to Albert Breer from Tannehill had been classified as a game-time decision after suffering a knee injury in last week's win versus the Jets.
Insight: We figured this would be the case. While not as celebrated as Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck, Tannehill has put together a solid rookie campaign completing 59.1 percent of his passes for 1,472 yards and four touchdowns.
11/3/2012 8:20:00 PM
Description: The odds of Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill playing Sunday against Indianapolis are "better than 50-50" according to ESPN's Ed Werder.
Insight: Tannehill bruised his knee last week against the Jets. Veteran Matt Moore would get the start under center if Tannehill is unable to play.
11/1/2012 3:46:00 PM
Description: According to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports, Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (quad, knee) is "50-50" to start against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday. Tannehill had his knee drained twice this week.
Insight: Tannehill took all of Miami's first-team snaps during the media portion of Thursday's practice so he seems to be on track to play Sunday but it could come down to game time. There's really not much dropoff from a fantasy perspective from Tannehill to Moore so start your Dolphins skill players (Reggie Bush, Brian Hartline) as you normally would.
10/28/2012 1:31:00 PM
Description: Miami rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill left Sunday's game against the Jets with a left quad injury.
Insight: Matt Moore takes over controls of the Miami offense. Moore will throw his first passes of the season against the Jets after watching the rookie in the Dolphins' first six games.
10/7/2012 10:20:00 AM
Description: Miami rookie Ryan Tannehill (right thumb) was added to the injury list late in the week, but was never in danger of sitting. He connected on 26-of-41 passes for 431 yards Sunday, 253 of which went to receiver Brian Hartline.
Insight: Tannehill likely won't reproduce last week's results, but the Bengals have yielded more than 300 yards passing in two of four games this season.
9/30/2012 7:43:00 PM
Description: Miami rookie Ryan Tannehill connected on 26-of-41 passes for 431 yards Sunday, 253 of which went to receiver Brian Hartline.
Insight: Tannehill had two picks, giving him six on the year to just two touchdown passes, so he's not exactly a safe QB play yet, but this does elevate Hartline to WR3 status.
9/9/2012 4:25:00 PM
Description: Miami rookie Ryan Tannehill threw three picks in his NFL debut against an excellent Texans pass defense.
Insight: Fantasy owners should start hoarding defenses that play Miami this season. Not only have the Dolphins rushed the raw Tannehill into action, they've provided him with no above average weapons to work with.
8/25/2012 11:35:00 AM
Description: Miami rookie Ryan Tannehill struggled for the second consecutive week, going 11-of-27 for 112 yards and an interception against Atlanta in a 23-6 loss on Friday night.
Insight: Despite a thin college resume, Tannehill played well in training camp and the first preseason game, but is coming back down to earth. A mediocre receiving corp won't help either. Tannehill has value in keeper leagues, but he isn't looking like he'll be fantasy-worthy this season.
8/20/2012 3:30:00 PM
Description: Miami coach Joe Philbin announced at a news conference Monday that rookie Ryan Tannehill will be the Dolphins' Week 1 starter.
Insight: Despite a thin college resume, Tannehill played well in the Dolphins first two preseason games. He'll be backed up by Matt Moore, who started 12 games last season after Chad Henne was injured.
8/17/2012 10:58:00 AM
Description: According to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, Ryan Tannehill will start Friday night's Dolphins preseason game.
Insight: Tannehill was 14-for-21 for 167 yards and a touchdown while playing against second-stringers in Miami's preseason opener. Friday night will give us a chance to see him against Carolina's starters and provide us with a better idea as to whether Tannehill can be a starter this season.
