Description: St. Louis wideout and return specialist Tavon Austin won't be in the lineup Sunday versus Seattle.
Insight: It's the third game Austin has missed with a high ankle sprain. He'll finish his rookie campaign with 40 catches for 418 yards and four scores.

Description: Rams WR/PR Tavon Austin (ankle) didn't play in Week 15 against the Saints and isn't going to play in Week 16. He's inactive.
Insight: Austin has made at least one 50-plus-yard play in three of the past four games, but his usage has been too sporadic to use him in fantasy.

Description: Rams WR/PR Tavon Austin (ankle) didn't play in Week 15 against the Saints and it isn't looking very good for Week 16 after he missed Thursday's practice.
Insight: Austin has made at least one 50-plus-yard play in three of the past four games, but his usage has been too sporadic to use him in fantasy.

Description: Rams WR/PR Tavon Austin (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 15 against the Saints, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Insight: Austin has made at least one 50-plus-yard play in three of the past four games, but his usage has been too sporadic to use him in fantasy.

Description: Rams rookie Tavon Austin only had two receptions Sunday against Indianapolis but he made them both count. Each went for a touchdown as Austin finished the afternoon with 138 receiving yards.
Insight: Austin even added a 98-yard punt return touchdown for good measure. As spectacular as Austin was on Sunday, his 69 yard per catch average will be impossible to sustain. Look for the 22-year-old to come back to Earth next week against the Bears.

Description: According to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, the Rams made it a point to be vanilla offensively in the preseason, especially with rookie receiver Tavon Austin.
Insight: Wagoner, who previously covered the Rams for nine years for stlouisrams.com, thinks St. Louis has "big plans" for Austin. If Austin ends up replacing Danny Amendola in the slot, he could be heavily targeted. He'll also be used as a running back at times and could end up with WR3 value in 12-team leagues.

Description: Rams rookie receiver Tavon Austin is being drafted at an ADP of 68.8, 27th among receivers, in the latest fantasyfootballcalculator.com standard format mock drafts, but that might be too high considering what Rams COO Kevin Demoff said. According to turfshowtimes.com of SB Nation, Demoff said that the goal this year is for Sam Bradford to be able to throw to the "open" player, and that the Rams could have 4-5 players catch 40-50 balls but nobody who catches 70 or 80.
Insight: Bradford showed a tendency to heavily target his old slot receiver Danny Amendola, so we still think Austin, who is expected to play in the slot, will be the most valuable Rams receiver. However, taking him in the sixth round could be a reach with players like T.Y. Hilton (78.4 ADP), Anquan Boldin (79.6), Danario Alexander (83.3) and DeSean Jackson (85.1) still on the board.

5/27/2013 4:16:00 PM
Description: Rams wideout Tavon Austin took snaps at the running back position in Friday's OTAs.
Insight: It appears the Rams are going to find as many ways as possible to get Austin the ball. He rushed for 643 yards in his last season at West Virginia averaging 8.9 ypc. This can only help his fantasy value just as Percy Harvin and Randall Cobb's numbers were boosted by a few rushing attempts per game.

4/25/2013 9:26:00 PM
Description: West Virginia's Tavon Austin was the first skill player taken in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Insight: The Rams grabbed him off the board at pick No. 8. Austin gives QB Sam Bradford a reliable weapon in the receiving game, which is something the Rams desperately needed following the departures of Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson this offseason.
