Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy will sit out the preseason opener.
Insight: Lacy was a workhorse last season (319 touches) and is likely to be one again in 2014, so no need to overwork him in preseason. He will be joined on the sidelines by Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson.

Description: According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Packers running back Eddie Lacy "couldn't have looked any better" in the first week of camp.
Insight: Lacy touched the ball 319 times last season (284 carries, 35 receptions) even though he really played just 14 games (he left after one carry due to a concussion in Week 2). Green Bay probably won't have him run the ball 20 times a game again with Aaron Rodgers healthy, but he could catch more passes. Over 16 games, Lacy should handle the football at least 320 times. He's going fifth among running backs in fantasyfootballcalculator.com mock drafts.

Description: According to ESPN.com, the Packers wants Eddie Lacy to be able to stay on the field for all three downs to maintain a quick pace.

Description: According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, the Packers coaching staff "would like to lessen the burden" on Eddie Lacy in 2014.
Insight: Lacy carried the ball 284 times and caught 35 passes in 2013 even though he really played just 14 games (he left Week 2 after one carry due to a concussion and missed Week 3). He played through a badly sprained ankle late in the year. Even if his carries are cut down by three to four per game, he'll still end up in the 250-270 range while catching 30-40 passes.

2/1/2014 9:12:00 PM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy has been named the NFL's 2013 Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Insight: Unlike some years, this was a pretty easy choice. Lacy led all rookies in rushing yards (1,178) and touchdowns (11) and finished the year as a top-five fantasy running back. San Diego receiver Keenan Allen garnered 12 of the 50 first place votes to come in second. Lacy is the first rookie since Anquan Boldin in 2003 to win Rookie of the Year after not being drafted in the first round. Boldin and Lacy were both second-round picks.

1/2/2014 2:14:00 PM
Description: Green Bay halfback Eddie Lacy was back at practice Thursday, the first time in three weeks, according to a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel report.
Insight: Lacy hurt his ankle in Week 16, but still ran 21 times against Chicago. He should be ready for Green Bay, but the 49ers rank fourth against the run.

Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy (ankle) practiced Friday, according to Rob Demovsky of espn.com.
Insight: Lacy is expected to play Sunday after aggravating his ankle injury in Week 16. The Rookie of the Year favorite has 1,112 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 263 carries as well as 33 catches for 242 yards this season.

Description: Green Bay running back and Rookie of the Year favorite Eddie Lacy hasn't practiced since re-injuring his ankle Sunday against Pittsburgh. Despite his absence, Packers coach Mike McCarthy is confident he'll be able to play on Sunday. SOURCE: Packers on Twitter
Insight: Green Bay's season may depend on it. The Packers aren't sure what they'll get from Aaron Rodgers (he's returning from a broken collarbone) and Chicago's most glaring weakness this season has been its run defense (worst in the league). Lacy gashed the Bears for 150 yards and a touchdown when he faced them back in Week 9.

Hot12/22/2013 7:12:00 PM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy re-injured his ankle during Sunday's game and appears to be done for the day.
Insight: Lacy suffered an ankle sprain two weeks ago but has been playing through it. However, he appeared to tweak it late in the third quarter and has been bundled up on the bench for the entire fourth quarter. The running back had 84 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game.

Hot12/20/2013 6:06:00 PM
Description: Just like last week, Packers running back Eddie Lacy (ankle) sat out of practice Wednesday and Thursday but returned Friday, according to Rob Demovsky of espn.com.
Insight: Lacy was questionable for Week 15 due to an ankle sprain but he ended up playing and ran for 141 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries while picking up 30 yards on four catches. He's a must-start in Week 16 against Pittsburgh.

Hot12/15/2013 7:51:00 PM
Description: Despite coming into Sunday's game at Dallas with an ankle injury, Packers running back Eddie Lacy touched that ball 25 times (21 carries) and had 141 rushing yards, 30 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Insight: Lacy didn't practice this week until Friday, but he had no problem running all over the Cowboys. The rookie running back eclipsed 1,000 yards on the season with the performance and scored for the seventh time in the last nine games.

12/15/2013 3:09:00 PM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy (ankle) is active for Sunday's game at Dallas.
Insight: Lacy practiced for the first time this week on Friday. "I definitely feel a lot better than I did finishing off last week," Lacy said. The rookie will definitely be playing at less than 100 percent but he's still a RB2 given his heavy usage near the goal line.

12/14/2013 5:10:00 PM
Description: According to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Packers running back Eddie Lacy (ankle) is expected to play Sunday against Dallas.
Insight: Lacy practiced for the first time this week on Friday. "I definitely feel a lot better than I did finishing off last week," Lacy said. "And I have some time off and I have 48 hours until the game. So I feel as though with that time I'll be better." Lacy will definitely be playing at less than 100 percent but he's still a RB2 given his heavy usage near the goal line.

12/12/2013 1:48:00 PM
Description: No practice again for Packers running back Eddie Lacy (ankle). He missed Wednesday's practice and now Thursday's, reports beat writer Jason Wilde.
Insight: if Lacy doesn't practice tomorrow, fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to play Sunday. James Starks would be a viable option if Lacy can't play in Week 15.

12/11/2013 1:48:00 PM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy (ankle) missed Wednesday's practice, according to Rob Demovsky of espn.com.
Insight: Lacy has rushed for just 291 yards on 93 carries (3.1 ypc) over the last five games with Aaron Rodgers sidelined, and he suffered an ankle injury in Week 14 against the Falcons. He was able to return to the game after the injury but is now questionable for Week 15 against the Cowboys. James Starks would get a heavy workload if Lacy has to miss Sunday's game and wouldn't be a bad RB2.

12/9/2013 9:46:00 AM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy injured his ankle on the last play of the first half and while he returned he was ineffective.
Insight: Lacy gave his fantasy owners double-digit points for the ninth time this season, but could be hard-pressed to answer the bell next week if it worsens.

10/20/2013 7:57:00 PM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy had 82 yards, 26 receiving yards and a touchdown Sunday against Cleveland.
Insight: Lacy has carried the ball 23, 23 and 22 times the last three games and should continue to receive that type of workload as the Packers are down several weapons in the passing game.

10/6/2013 6:10:00 PM
Description: The Packers fed Eddie Lacy in the rookie's return from a concussion, giving him 23 carries Sunday against the Lions.
Insight: Lacy suffered a concussion after just one carry in Week 2, missed Week 3 and had a bye in Week 4, so we hadn't seen him for awhile. He had 99 yards on the day and should receive a similar workload going forward. Johnathan Franklin had only three carries for one yard.

10/2/2013 1:32:00 PM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy (concussion) practiced for a second straight day on Wednesday and is expected to return to the starting lineup in Week 5.
Insight: It's good news for Lacy owners, but he better come back with guns blazing as fellow rookie Johnathan Franklin produced a 100-yard day with him sidelined and has earned additional playing time. James Starks (knee) is not practicing and is not currently part of the mix.

9/24/2013 11:08:00 AM
Description: Packers running back Eddie Lacy (concussion) did not play Sunday against the Bengals, but should be ready to go when the Packers return from their bye in Week 5.
Insight: Lacy will have to perform when he returns or risk sharing the workload as his backups, James Starks and Johnathan Franklin, have both produced 100-yard days with him sidelined.
