6/19/2015 9:00:00 PM
Description: The Dallas Cowboys are expected to "spread the touches" between Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar this season according to the Fort-Worth Star-Telegram.
Insight: But if the Cowboys run the same amount as last season, they have over 31 carries to "spread around" between those three guys. He might not get the 24 carries DeMarco Murray saw in 2014, but Randle has to be in line for the majority of the touches. He averaged 6.7 yards per carry last season and clearly has the most talent. Meanwhile, McFadden will likely not make it through the season unhurt.
5/26/2015 11:48:00 AM
Description: Cowboys running back Joseph Randle is expected to be the starter come Week 1, according to a Dallas Morning News report.
Insight: That's assuming, of course, the Cowboys backfield choices are between Randle, Darren McFadden, Ryan Williams and Lance Dunbar.
12/28/2014 5:09:00 PM
Description: Cowboys backup running back Joseph Randle will be the top handcuff in fantasy next season.
Insight: That's, of course, assuming the Cowboys resign DeMarco Murray. Randle had just four carries versus Washington but gained 69 yards, rushing for a 65-yard touchdown. Randle finished with 51 carries and 343 rushing yards this season.
10/22/2014 10:19:00 AM
Description: Cowboys backup running back Joseph Randle saw 13 carries for 37 yards and caught one ball for seven yards.
Insight: Those who took a chance that Randle would play more than Demarco Murray lost the gamble.
10/14/2014 8:54:00 PM
Description: The Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys do not plan to suspend running back Joseph Randle for his shoplifting arrest.
Insight: Randle will be fined between $10,000 and $30,000. Fantasy owners will likely not want to touch Randle this week, but since he is not going to miss any games, owners should consider picking him up. Randle is the handcuff for the overworked DeMarco Murray, who has not played an entire 16-game season in his career.
10/14/2014 12:06:00 PM
Description: Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill reports second-year running back Joseph Randle was arrested for shoplifting Monday night.
Insight: Randle is Demarco Murray's backup and has rushed 16 times for 113 yards this season. Hard to understand given his half-million dollar salary.
8/8/2014 10:59:00 AM
Description: Cowboys second-year running back Joseph Randle was solid in a starting role with DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar sidelined.
Insight: Randle rushed 13 times for 50 yards. He's stuck at No. 3 on the depth chart, but showed he could perform if called upon.
10/20/2013 5:58:00 PM
Description: Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle saw 19 of Dallas' 26 rushing attempts Sunday at Philadelphia and had 65 rushing yards. He also caught three passes for 28 yards.
Insight: The short touchdown went to Phillip Tanner, however. Randle should continue to start while DeMarco Murray is out with a knee injury unless the Cowboys trade for a running back.
10/20/2013 12:01:00 PM
Description: Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle will be the team's starting back in Week 7 with DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar inactive.
Insight: Randle has yet to do much this season with 17 yards on 11 carries, but the Eagles' defense is vulnerable to both the run and pass.
9/15/2013 12:17:00 PM
Description: Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle is inactive for Week 2 versus Kansas City.
Insight: Randle was supposed to end up being the handcuff for injury-prone DeMarco Murray, but didn't get on the field for a single snap in Week 1. Phillip Tanner did most of the work when Murray was tired, but Lance Dunbar returns this week to make things more confusing.
5/11/2013 2:21:00 PM
Description: Dallas Cowboys rookie running back Joseph Randle will be expected to fill the Felix Jones role this season, backing up starter DeMarco Murray.
Insight: Randle will begin OTAs on a limited basis after undergoing right thumb surgery. Given Murray's inability to play 16 games in either of his first two seasons, Randle will be an important "handcuff' for fantasy owners.
