NFL Preseason Preview - Philadelphia (2-1) at NY Jets (2-1)

By John McMullen, NFL Editor

(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles will wrap up their preseason slate by making the short trek up I-95 to face the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

In their last contest, the Eagles scored 15 fourth quarter points, including a Chris Polk touchdown run with 2:12 remaining to cap a 14-play, 99-yard drive, to defeat the Jaguars, 31-24.

Michael Vick played into the third quarter, eventually finishing 15-of-23 for 184 yards with a touchdown to Riley Cooper and one interception. He added 53 yards on seven carries for the Eagles, who improved to 2-1 in their exhibition season.

Nick Foles subbed and completed 10-of-11 attempts for 112 yards, while Bryce Brown led the way with 92 yards on 11 carries and Brent Celek topped a list of 13 receivers with at least one catch by posting four receptions for 54 yards.

The Philadelphia defense racked up seven sacks, including one from free agent Connor Barwin.

All eyes were on Geno Smith for the jets last Saturday as "Gang Green" battled the New York Giants in preseason action.

Billy Cundiff's 32-yard field goal with 8:04 left in overtime gave the Jets a 24-21 victory in their 45th consecutive preseason matchup with the Giants.

Smith, the rookie second-round pick from West Virginia, completed 16-of-30 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He sat last week with an ankle injury as Mark Sanchez led the Jets to an easy 37-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jets' quarterback competition may have taken an interesting turn, though, but not because of Smith's play. Sanchez took over for Smith early in the fourth quarter and connected on 5-of-6 passes for 72 yards before leaving with an injury to his throwing shoulder.

Matt Simms was the only Jets quarterback that looked good. He completed 6- of-10 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown for the Jets, who turned the ball over five times.

Ryan Spadola caught three passes for 110 yards and a score, Ben Obomanu hauled in three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Sanchez has been listed as day-to-day moving forward.

The Eagles have faced the Jets more times than any other NFL foe in their preseason history - 32 times - with New York leading the series, 20-12
