Wells ready to question Dolphins this week
Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Dolphins will be under Ted Wells' microscope this week, as the investigation into the club's workplace conduct in the wake of the Richie Incognito-Jonathan Martin incident continues.
Wells, the special investigator hired by the NFL, will be in South Florida to talk with Dolphins players, coaches and other personnel. He has essentially issued a gag order for all involved.
"We look forward to meeting with Dolphins players, coaches and staff in order to get the facts and prepare a thorough and fair report," Wells said in a statement Monday. "The Dolphins organization has been very helpful in arranging the interviews and urging their personnel to cooperate with the investigation. We have asked all Dolphins personnel to respect the process and avoid commenting on the investigation."
Wells met with Martin last week in New York and the Dolphins offensive lineman refused to divulge the nature of their discussion.
Martin left the team on Oct. 28, just days before the team's Thursday night win over Cincinnati. Incognito was suspended indefinitely by the Dolphins on Nov. 3 and has since filed a grievance.
The Dolphins are 2-1 since Martin's departure, improving to 5-5 with Sunday's 20-16 victory over San Diego. Miami will host Carolina on Sunday.
