Eagles' Vick exits in second quarter

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Vick's return to action lasted less than a half, as the oft-injured Philadelphia Eagles quarterback departed Sunday's 15-7 loss to the New York Giants in the second quarter after aggravating a previous hamstring pull.

Vick operated the Eagles' first four drives, during which Philadelphia mustered only 27 total yards and two first downs, before giving way to rookie Matt Barkley with under three minutes left in the first half and the Giants owning a 12-0 lead.

The veteran lefty, who sat out the last two games with the injury, appeared to favor his leg on several occasions and completed 6-of-9 passes, but for only 31 yards and was intercepted once.

Barkley went 17-of-26 for 158 yards with one interception in the most extensive action of his brief career. The 2013 fourth-round pick also lost a fumble deep in New York territory after being sacked by Terrell Thomas.

Nick Foles, who started in Vick's place the past two weeks, was inactive for Sunday's matchup after suffering a concussion in the Eagles' 17-3 loss to Dallas last week.
