Erie's Gansey takes weekly honors

New York, NY (Sports Network) - The Erie BayHawks' Mike Gansey was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the Week of Jan. 25, 2010.
Gansey, who was traded to Erie on Dec. 31, 2009 from the Idaho Stampede, led Erie to a 2-1 record last week, including two road victories over the Springfield Armor. He scored a season-high 27 points in 48 minutes on Jan. 30 at Springfield's MassMutual Center.
The 6-4 guard out of West Virginia averaged 24.3 points, on 51 percent shooting(11-of-23) from the field, to go with 7.3 rebounds 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals. He scored more than 20 points in all three contests.
Other top performers last week included Maine's Alexis Ajinca, who averaged 20,5 points and 8.0 rebounds in four games on assignment from the Charlotte Bobcats to the Red Claws; Austin's Malik Hairston, who averaged 26.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in two games for the Toros on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs; Rio Grande Valley's Mike Harris, who averaged 23.3 points and 13.0 rebounds in three games for the Vipers; Sioux Falls' Alexander Johnson, who averaged 22.7 points and 11.0 rebounds for the Skyforce; Albuquerque's Carlos Powell, who averaged 26.0 points and 5.5 assists in two games for the Thunderbirds; Tulsa's Mustafa Shakur, who averaged 14.0 points and 11.0 assists in three games for the 66ers; and Idaho's Donell Taylor, who averaged 24.3 points and 8.3 assists in three games for the Stampede.
