NBA Game Summary - Indiana at Atlanta

(Saturday, December 29th)

Final Score: Atlanta 109, Indiana 100

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Lou Williams and Zaza Pachulia each recorded a double-double to lead the Atlanta Hawks past the Indiana Pacers, 109-100, at Philips Arena.

Williams finished with 21 points and a career-high 12 assists, while Pachulia had 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks, who have won 11 straight home games against the Pacers.

"I think guys just made shots early," Williams said about his career-high in assists. "I just think we got off to a great start, guys just made shots for me and it happened."

Al Horford added 20 points and Kyle Korver connected on four 3-pointers en route to 16 points in the victory.

David West poured in a game-high 29 points for Indiana, which had its season- high four-game win streak snapped.

After a West jumper gave the Pacers a 14-11 lead at the midpoint of the first quarter, Atlanta reeled off an 18-6 run to jump ahead, 29-20.

The Hawks carried a 33-26 edge into the second quarter, and they were able to maintain at least a five-point edge over the opening minutes of the frame before four straight points by Ian Mahinmi closed the Pacers' gap to 40-37.

The teams traded baskets from there until a 9-1 push by Atlanta opened up a 55-44 lead with a little over two minutes remaining in the half.

Indiana, however, closed out the second quarter with back-to-back field goals by Lance Stephenson and West to get within 55-48 at the break.

The Pacers opened the third quarter with a 6-3 spurt to get back within 58-54, but Atlanta responded with a 9-2 run to retake a double-digit lead, 67-56.

An 11-0 trek by the Hawks later opened up an 83-65 advantage and Atlanta carried an 83-70 cushion into the fourth quarter, where a 14-5 push by Indiana closed its gap to 91-88 on Paul George's three-point play with 5:18 left in the game.

But Atlanta answered with a 10-2 spurt to regain a comfortable 101-90 lead and the Pacers would get no closer than eight points for the remainder of the contest.

"They were just too much for us tonight," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "We were very outside of ourselves with many, many mistakes and many, many breakdowns. It was just one of those nights."
