Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - Greg Biffle snapped a 49-race winless streak in the Sprint Cup Series by taking Saturday night's Samsung Mobile 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Jimmie Johnson dominated most of the race by leading 156 laps, but Biffle passed him for the top spot with 30 laps to go. Johnson got loose and made slight contact with the wall shortly after, which ultimately put him out of contention to win. He was attempting to give team owner Rick Hendrick his long-awaited 200th victory in NASCAR's premier series.

Biffle captured his 17th career Sprint Cup win but his first since October 2010 at Kansas. He also gave team owner Jack Roush his ninth win at Texas.

"It means a lot," said Biffle, who led a total of 90 laps. "I just dug deep. I knew I had to do it, and I kept on trying and trying. I knew the team would forgive me if I wrecked while trying to beat him, so I gave it all I had."

Biffle also won the spring 2005 race at Texas, leading 219 laps in that event. He has now posted eight straight top-10 finishes at this fast 1.5-mile track.

Earlier this month, Johnson was denied the victory at Martinsville. The five- time series champion held the lead late in that race but was involved in a multi-car crash during a green-white-checkered finish.

Johnson wound up finishing 3.2 seconds behind Biffle.

"I'm definitely disappointed," he said. "We had a great car. I just got tangled up in some lap traffic, and [Biffle] got by me. I drilled the fence, but I was able to bring it home in second."

Mark Martin finished third, while Jeff Gordon and Matt Kenseth, who won this race one year ago, rounded out the top-five.

Gordon posted his best finish in what has been a sluggish start to the season for him.

"We had a great night and a great car," he said. "This is something we can build on."

Martin Truex Jr., the pole sitter, took the sixth spot, followed by Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

All four of Hendrick's cars finished in the top-10.

The 500-mile race at Texas moved at a track-record pace of 160.575 mph. There were just two cautions, with both of them occurring within the first 100 laps. The remaining 234 laps were run under green.

With the win, Biffle widened his points lead to 19 over his Roush Fenway Racing teammate, Kenseth, and Earnhardt Jr.
