| NOTES: |
|
Not only did Kyle Busch win this race for the second consecutive season
last year, he won his fourth straight NASCAR national touring series race in
the process.
Busch, who won the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series races at Bristol the
previous week in 2010, put on a dominating performance, but had to hold off a
furious charge from pole sitter Todd Bodine in the closing laps to claim his
fourth victory of the season and the 20th of his truck career. His margin of
victory was a slim, 0.186 seconds.
Busch finished the 2010 season with eight wins and has added five additional
checkered flags this year, giving him 29 for his career. Since the first week
of July, Busch has raced just four times on this circuit with just two top-5
finishes.
In 2009, Kyle Busch made a late-race pass on Todd Bodine for the lead and then
held off Bodine on a restart with seven laps to go to win the inaugural Truck
Series race at Chicagoland Speedway. Busch led for a race-high 79 laps after
starting fourth on the grid. Pole sitter Matt Crafton led 23 laps, but placed
14th.
With his win last race, Ron Hornaday Jr.'s countdown to 50 Camping World
victories is on the horizon. The only four-time champion in Series' history,
Hornaday captured win number 49 in Atlanta.
Just eight races remain on the Camping World Series Schedule, as James Buescher
owns the top spot on the points list. Johnny Sauter is a mere 12 points behind,
followed closely by Timothy Peters (14) and Austin Dillon (17). Not to be
overlooked, Hornaday Jr is fifth, 48 points back.
The next Camping World Truck Series race is the September 24th running of the
F.W. Webb 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Kyle Busch won last year's race
there.
