Talladega, AL (Sports Network) - Rookie Ty Dillon will start on the pole for Saturday's 250-mile Camping World Truck Series race after posting the fastest lap in qualifying at Talladega Superspeedway.
Dillon, who enters this race as the points leader, turned a lap at 177.291 mph around this 2.66-mile superspeedway for his third pole of the season. The 20- year-old Richard Childress Racing driver has yet to make a Truck Series start at Talladega but won last year's ARCA Series race here.
Jason White claimed the outside pole with lap at 176.617 mph. James Buescher, who trails Dillon by only one point, qualified third. Aric Almirola, a Sprint Cup Series regular, and Cale Gale, also a rookie in trucks this season, rounded out the top-five.
Kurt Busch, who is driving the No. 18 truck for Kyle Busch Motorsports, qualified sixth, followed by Todd Bodine, Timothy Peters, Parker Kligerman and Ron Hornaday Jr.
Wes Burton was the only driver who failed to qualify.
The race is scheduled to start just after 4 p.m. (ET).
