King's No. 7 truck team shuts down

Mooresville, NC (Sports Network) - Red Horse Racing revealed on Tuesday it has suspended operations of its No. 7 team, with rookie driver John King, in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series due to lack of sponsorship.

King became a first-time race winner in the series in February at Daytona International Speedway. His maiden victory came in just his eighth start. King held the points lead after the first two truck events this season -- Daytona and Martinsville, where he finished 9th. A pair of 33rd-place finishes in two of the three previous events has dropped him to 13th in the point standings.

Red Horse Racing said its two other teams in the series will continue to operate. Two-time series champion Todd Bodine drives the No. 11 truck, while Timothy Peters is behind the wheel of the No. 17 entry.
