Insight: Buxton apparently hurt it in a head-first slide while trying to steal. He had yet to really start to hit, batting just .189 in his first 11 games, but he's a elite prospect.

Insight: Buxton, ranked as the first overall prospect in baseball by MLB.com and Baseball America, suffered a concussion when he collided with a teammate on Aug. 13. He also dealt with a wrist injury earlier this season and has played just 31 games. He's batted .240 with four homers, 16 RBI and six steals. The earliest we're likely to see the 20-year-old in the majors is late 2015.
