Insight: With Detroit trailing 4-1 in the eighth, Martinez hit a bases-clearing double to tie the game. It was his lone hit in three at-bats, and he is now hitting .243 with 25 RBI overall. James McCann hit a walk-off homer to seal it for Detroit.

Insight: Martinez and Miguel Cabrera, who went 1-for-2 with two walks, that had solid at-bats versus Danny Duffy. Martinez was 0-for-9 in the previous two games, so it was nice to see Martinez get two hits Thursday, but he still doesn't seem like himself due to his knee issue. It shouldn't be a surprise if Martinez hit the disabled list at some point.
