National League Preview from The Sports Network

Sunday, June 8 (All times Eastern)

Los Angeles Dodgers (32-31) at Colorado Rockies (29-32), 4:10 p.m.

Probable Starting Pitchers: Los Angeles - Clayton Kershaw (4-2, 3.32) Colorado - Jorge De La Rosa (6-4, 3.68)

(SportsNetwork.com) - Reigning National League Cy Young award winner Clayton Kershaw tries to build on arguably his best start of the season when the Los Angeles Dodgers close a three-game set against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

Kershaw fanned nine over eight solid innings of a 5-2 home win against the White Sox Monday. The lefty is 10-5 with a 3.60 ERA in 23 games against the Rockies. That includes a shutout at Coors Field on July 2, 2013.

Jorge De La Rosa, who is coming off a Tuesday defeat against Arizona, counters for the Rockies. The loss to the Diamondbacks ended a six-decision victory streak for the southpaw.

Over his career, De La Rosa is 3-8 with a 5.54 ERA in 17 games (13 starts) against the Dodgers. He's won each of his last three starts against them.

On Saturday, Brandon Barnes' RBI triple in the 10th inning gave the Rockies a 5-4 win.

With Chris Perez (0-3) on the mound in the 10th, Justin Morneau singled with one out. Michael McKenry then struck out, but Barnes hit a long fly ball off the wall in right-center, and Morneau easily scored for the win.

McKenry and Josh Rutledge each posted two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Rockies, who snapped an eight-game losing streak.

"We haven't got many wins here lately," said Rockies manager Walt Weiss. "But the guys have been fighting real hard and it paid off today."

Jhoulys Chacin went six-plus innings for Colorado and gave up three runs on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts. Franklin Morales (4-4) got the final out of the ninth and pitched a scoreless 10th for the win.

Tim Federowicz hit a three-run homer for the Dodgers, who have lost three of their last four. Zack Greinke pitched seven innings and gave up four runs -- three earned -- on 11 hits.

"I made a couple of slight mistakes and they wound up hitting them hard," said Greinke. "I really didn't make a couple of key pitches and that's really the key."

Yasiel Puig left the game for the Dodgers due to a strained left hip flexor. Second baseman Dee Gordon also departed because of a left hip injury.

Los Angeles lost two of three home games versus Colorado from April 25-27.
