Fields set for 2011 Breeders Crown at Woodbine
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Post positions have been drawn for the 2011 Breeders Crown on Saturday night at Woodbine Race Course. A dozen championship harness races will be conducted worth a total of $6 million.
The two featured events are the $610,000 trot for three-year-old males and the $500,000 pace for three-year-old colts and geldings.
The trot for 10 three-year-olds features Hambletonian winner Broad Bahn and Kentucky Futurity champ Manofmanymissions. Broad Bahn will be driven by George Brennan from post seven and Manofmanymissions will leave from post five with David Miller in the sulky.
Ten three-year-old male pacers will go postward including the winners of the first two legs of the Triple Crown. Big Bad John, winner of the Little Brown Jug, has drawn post nine with David Miller set to drive. Cane Pace champ Betterthancheddar will have George Brennan driving from post four.
The 12 race program will get underway at 6:30 p.m. (et).
