The LPGA Tour travels to Canada this week for the inaugural Manulife Financial
LPGA Classic in Waterloo, Ontario. Five of the top six players in the world
are in the field - Stacy Lewis (2), Na Yeon Choi (3), Shanshan Feng (4),
Suzann Pettersen (5) and Ai Miyazato (6).
Lewis is currently the top American golfer in the world at No. 2. World No. 1
Yani Tseng (3) and Lewis (2) are the only players with multiple victories in
2012. Lewis trails Tseng on the money list by $147,838. If she wins this week,
Lewis would pass Tseng for the top spot on the money list and pass the $1
million mark in earnings on the season. Lewis has been on fire lately, with
four straight top 5 finishes, including two victories. She has seven top 5
finishes on the season, which is the most on tour.
The tournament is being held at Grey Silo Golf Course. The course was designed
by Steve Young and opened in 2001.
The LPGA Tour heads to Arkansas next week for the Walmart NW Arkansas
Championship, where Tseng has captured the last two titles.
