The LPGA Tour travels to Brazil this week for the HSBC LPGA Brasil Cup at Itanhanga Golf Club in Rio De Janeiro. There are 30 players in the field for this special event. Two of the top 10 players in the world are in the field - Suzann Pettersen (3) and Paula Creamer (10).

This tournament is an international golf exhibition. It is not an official event on the LPGA Tour and money is not official. The tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

Rio De Janeiro is hosting the Olympic return of golf in 2016 and with 14 different countries represented in the field, some of the same golfers could be playing in the Olympics in four years.

Last year, Mariajo Uribe atoned for her runner-up finish in 2010 with rounds of 69-66 to win. Uribe finished the tournament at nine-under 135 to defeat Lindsey Wright by a stroke.

In 2010, Meaghan Francella birdied the sixth playoff hole to down Uribe and win. Francella captured the unofficial 36-hole tournament with a birdie at the par-three 17th, ending the long sudden-death playoff.

In 2009, Catriona Matthew fired two rounds of 69 to finish at six-under-par 138 and defeat Kristy McPherson by five shots. Matthew was the only player in the field to post a sub-70 round. Matthew won the event just five months before giving birth to her second daughter, Sophie.

The LPGA Tour travels to New Jersey in two weeks for the Sybase Match Play Championship in Gladstone, where Pettersen will defend her title.
