NOTES:
The LPGA Tour is in Phoenix, Arizona this week for the first tournament in the United States in 2012, the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup. Jessica Korda won the season-opening ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open; Yani Tseng captured the Honda LPGA Thailand; and Angela Stanford won the HSBC Women's Champions in Singapore. The top four players in the world are in the field - Tseng, Na Yeon Choi, Suzann Pettersen and Cristie Kerr.

This tournament is being held at the Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. The Club features two 18-hole courses designed by Hall of Famers Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo. This event will play a combination of the two courses, with the back nine of the Palmer Course playing as holes 1-9 of the tournament and the back nine of the Faldo Course playing as holes 10-18. The first year was only a 54-hole event, while this year will be 72 holes.

The 132-player field will compete for a purse of $1.5 million, with $500,000 being donated to the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program. The purse increased $500,000 from last year.

Last year, Karrie Webb fired a six-under 66 in the final round to come from behind and win the inaugural event. Webb finished her 38th LPGA Tour title at 12-under-par 204 for a one-stroke win over Paula Creamer and Brittany Lincicome. The Australian won for the second straight event, as she also titled in Singapore at the HSBC Women's Champions the week before.

The LPGA Tour travels to California next week for the Kia Classic, where Sandra Gal earned her first LPGA Tour victory last year.
