Hull makes big move in women's world rankings
Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Charley Hull birdied the first playoff hole on Sunday to beat Gwladys Nocera and win her first Ladies European Tour event, and that helped her make a big move in this week's world rankings.
Hull, who turns 18 next week, jumped 24 spots to No. 65 this week, while Nocera was up eight to No. 69.
Inbee Park remained the No. 1 player and was followed by Suzann Pettersen, Stacy Lewis, Lydia Ko, So Yeon Ryu, Karrie Webb, Shanshan Feng, Paula Creamer, Na Yeon Choi and Lexi Thompson as there was no movement in the top 10.
Catriona Matthew was 11th again and trailed by I.K. Kim, Ha Na Jang, Cristie Kerr, Anna Nordqvist and Angela Stanford, who remained 12th through 16th.
Amy Yang inched up one to 17 and that pushed Jiyai Shin down to 18, while Hee Young Park and Lizette Salas were 19th and 20th again this week.
