New York holds slim lead at Men's State Team
Galloway, NJ (Sports Network) - Michael Miller posted a 2-under 69 on Thursday to help New York grab a 1-stroke lead after two rounds of the 2012 USGA Men's State Team Championship at Galloway National Golf Club.
Max Buckley posted an even-par 71 to give the New Yorkers a second-round total of 2-under 140. Through two rounds, New York stands at 1-over-par 285.
Joseph Saladino is the third player from New York, but neither of his scores have counted through two rounds.
Iowa managed an even-par 142 to move into second place at plus-2.
Pennsylvania, the 2009 champion, shot 2-over 144 for the second straight day and is alone in third at 4-over-par 288. Georgia is four shots back at plus-6 after posting a 3-over 145 total for the second day in a row.
Florida (145), California (149), Missouri (148) and Tennessee (145) share fifth place at 9-over-par 293.
The USGA Men's State Team Championship consists of 54 holes of stroke play, with the two lowest of three individual scores counting as the team total for the round.
