DALLAS (49-32) AT MEMPHIS (49-32), 8:00 PM (ET)

Dallas and Memphis are both in the playoffs but tonight's matchup decides which club will have to play San Antonio in the first round. The winner avoids the Spurs so this contest is crucial, especially since neither squad won a game against them this season.

Dallas comes into tonight not having played since defeating Phoenix on April 12. It was the Mavericks fifth win in their last six games, with the only defeat coming against the Spurs. They also have gone under the total in four of their last five matchups.

Memphis has won its last four contests but the Grizzlies played in Phoenix on the 14th and had to travel back home. They too have played some low-scoring games of late as they are 5-3 to the under in their last eight.

Dallas has won and covered the three meetings this season with all three going over the total. Given that, it's best to go with the underdog to get the outright victory.

SPORTS NETWORK CHOICE: Take Dallas plus 3.5 points.

THE TRENDS REPORT
