Description: Padres starter Tyson Ross threw six strong innings in the, 5-3, victory over the Cardinals on Thursday. Insight: Ross received a no-decision, though, as San Diego won in the 11th. Ross threw six innings and allowed three runs on four hits and struck out six. Unfortunately, he also walked five batters. Ross is 5-7 with a 3.63 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 111 strikeouts in 101 2/3 innings this season.
 Matt Carpenter, 3B, STL7/2/2015 11:19:00 PM 
Description: Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter was 2-for-4 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored in the loss to the Padres on Thursday. Insight: Carpenter had an RBI-single in the fifth as St. Louis came back to tie the game at three, but the Cardinals lost, 5-3, in the 11th. This is their third loss in a row, and it\'s only the second time that has happened all season.
