Late Round Sleepers

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - To stay competitive in any fantasy league, your top picks must play well, but to actually win your league, you need help from some of your late-round picks.

To qualify for the "sleeper" list, you must be selected after the 10th round and in a typical 10-team league that means your ADP (average draft position) must be 101 or higher.

We will use the fantasyfootballnerd.com rankings as our guide.

Kevin Kolb, QB, Arizona (ADP 106) - If the inept group of Cardinals quarterbacks from 2010 (Derek Anderson, John Skelton, Max Hall, Richard Bartel) could throw for 3,264 yards, what can a talented guy like Kolb do? To date he's not garnering much attention as the 18th quarterback off the board. He's got a top-three receiver in Larry Fitzgerald, veteran Todd Heap at tight end and a couple of young guys in Early Doucet and Andre Roberts who will get a chance to produce. Kolb is worth a roster spot at the least as a backup, but with a huge upside if the offense gels.

Malcom Floyd, WR, San Diego (ADP 108) - Floyd posted career highs in touchdowns (6), yards-per-catch (19.2), receptions-per-game (3.4) and yards- per-game (65.2) Injuries kept his season-long statistics to a pedestrian level and many fantasy owners may gloss over him with the return of Vincent Jackson (2010 contract holdout). Quarterback Philip Rivers has the ability to keep Jackson, Floyd and Antonio Gates owners all happy. And Gates is still dealing with a long-term plantar fasciitis problem. Floyd could post 60-900-8 which would be very good production from an 11th-round selection.

Lance Moore, WR, New Orleans (ADP 117) - Moore is one of Brees' favorite targets, but sometimes gets lost because the Saints' quarterback spreads the ball around to a lot of talented receivers. Last year 10 players had at least 10 receptions. At crunch time and in the red zone, however, Brees looks for Moore who has 20 touchdown catches in his last 36 games.

Jared Cook, TE, Tennessee (ADP 182) - This is the year that Cook comes out of the shadows and becomes a top-10 tight end. He displayed a bit of his talent at the end of 2010, with 12 catches for 154 yards in the team's final two games. With Matt Hasselbeck at quarterback, the tight end position should shine. Hasselbeck brought out the best in John Carlson in Seattle and he'll do the same with Cook in Tennessee. Cook will be the best player picked in the 16th round (ADP 182).

Visanthe Shiancoe, TE, Minnesota (ADP 214) - New starting quarterback Donovan McNabb loves throwing to his tight end. He made Brent Celek a household name in Philadelphia and Washington tight ends Chris Cooley and Fred Davis combined for 98 receptions, 1,165 yards and six touchdowns last year. Shiancoe will be McNabb's favorite red zone target and could match his 2009 touchdown total of 11. If you can get that kind of production from a 21st-round pick, you will be in great shape.

Bernard Berrian, WR, Minnesota (ADP 249) - Another receiver who will benefit from the arrival of McNabb is Bernard Berrian. The veteran will likely take the spot last filled by Sidney Rice. While most of the secondary's attention will be on Percy Harvin, Berrian could have a solid season.

Eric Decker, WR, Denver (ADP 265) - Brandon Lloyd led the league in receiving yards (1,448), but nobody else in the Denver receiving corps stepped up for the Broncos. Eddie Royal averaged just 10.6 ypc, Jabar Gaffney is gone and 2010 draft choice Demaryius Thomas spent most of last year on the sidelines - injured. Decker has the talent to step up and head coach John Fox is expecting big things from him. He could easily bypass Royal for the position opposite Lloyd. Decker would make an excellent last-round pick who could blossom into a solid receiver.
