Edwards in New York?

Back in 2007 Braylon Edwards was the star on the rise.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - If ever there was a player who needed a "change of scenery," Cleveland Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards is that guy. But for a man that likes to party as it surely seems Edwards likes to do, the bright lights of New York City might not be the best place for him from an athletic standpoint.

Back in 2007, Edwards was the star on the rise after posting an 80-catch, 1,289-yard, 16 touchdown season. The following year he was a very high draft choice in every fantasy league, with an Average Draft Position (ADP) of 19.69. He was being selected as the No.4 wideout behind Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Reggie Wayne.

But while the three guys ahead of him had solid seasons, Edwards put up an unsatisfying 55-reception, 873-yard, three touchdown campaign. He dropped pass after pass and took plays, and games, off.

Edwards was voted the TSN Most Disappointing Fantasy Player of 2008 because so much was expected of him, and so little was produced.

Now he has been traded to the bright lights of Broadway which has many more distractions than in Cleveland, Ohio. That doesn't bode well for the former Michigan Wolverine who has million-dollar talent, but seems to have a 10-cent head.

Edwards was partying with teammate Donte Stallworth the night Stallworth killed a man in a drunk-driving accident. He is a frequent critic of Cleveland's play-calling, argues with teammates and in 2006 took a helicopter to the Ohio State-Michigan game despite being told not to go. In another incident he was arrested for reckless driving (120 m.p.h. in a 65 m.p.h., zone) and most recently is accused of punching a friend of LeBron James.

"I've never crossed paths with Braylon before, but it seems like there's a little jealousy going on with Braylon and me and my friends," said James. "I have no idea why. I've never said anything to Braylon at all. But for him to do that is very childish."

Does this sound like a man who can cope with the complexities of living and playing in New York?
