Warner directs Cardinal passing fantasy

Kurt Warner is putting up fantastic fantasy numbers this season.
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Kurt Warner used to guide "The Greatest Show on Turf" in St. Louis. He was a two-time NFL MVP and a Super Bowl MVP there. Then he left Missouri and struggled in New York while the Giants trained Eli Manning to take his job. But he's having fun again - this time in the Arizona desert. And Warner is putting up fantastic fantasy numbers.

Heading into this week Warner was 238-for-337 for 2,760 yards, 19 touchdowns against only six interceptions. He's thrown for 300+ yards five times and 400+ yards one time. Arizona led the NFL in points per game (29.2), were second in passing yards (297.3 ypg) and 3rd in total yards (385.4). And they did nothing to hurt those numbers against Seattle.

At halftime, Warner was already 22-for-27 for 251 yards. Anquan Boldin caught eight of them for 108 and Larry Fitzgerald was six-for-91 as the Cardinals led the Seahawks by a 16-7 score. By the end of the game, a 26-20 win, Warner was 32-for-44 for 395 yards, Boldin caught 13-for-186 and Fitzgerald added 10- for-151.

Boldin has also been a fantasy star. In seven starts (he missed two weeks due to injury), No.81 has 10 touchdown catches, including scores in six straight. Fitzgerald added six touchdowns and third receiver Steve Breaston has posted three 100-yard games and one score.

Warner's yardage total was second only to Matt Cassel's Thursday night game total of 400 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort. They were the two best passing performances of the week - by far.

Earlier in the day, it took Donovan McNabb five quarters (13-13 tie with Cincinnati), but he cracked the 300-yard mark for the third time this season and led all quarterbacks in Sunday's early session. McNabb didn't really play all that well, he had one fumble, three interceptions and was sacked twice, but still managed to get respectable fantasy numbers by throwing 58 times and completing 28 for 339 yards.

Peyton Manning also cracked the 300-yard mark, but unlike McNabb, he and his team had a good day. Yes, I said Peyton Manning. The last time this Manning threw for 300 yards or more in a game was in Week 2. That's so long ago, the New York Mets still held a 2 1/2 game lead in the National League East over the soon-to-be World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies.

But on Sunday, Manning looked like the quarterback every fantasy owner has been waiting to see. He threw for 320 yards and two scores as he led Indianapolis to a 33-27 victory over the Houston Texans. The entire Colts offense looked to be in stride. Joseph Addai ran for 105 yards and one score and caught another. Reggie Wayne, playing with a ankle injury, still caught seven balls for 90 yards.

The one o'clock receiving corps was led by another familiar name, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, though he hadn't graced the top of the charts since Week 3 when he put together a 12-catch, 149-yard effort against the New York Giants. Then Arizona took the field at four o'clock and all the passing and receiving numbers on Sunday paled in comparison.

As for the running game, Arizona didn't really have one this week, but plenty of other teams did. Ten running backs cracked the 100-yard mark, led by Houston's rookie Steve Slaton with 156 yards and one score. Ryan Grant (145) returned to 2007 form helping lead Green Bay to a 37-3 pasting of the Chicago Bears. Two other rookies had big days - Carolina's Jonathan Stewart (15-130-1) and Detroit's Kevin Smith (24-112-0).
