Goalie Player Notes
For The Last 15 Days

Petr Mrazek, G, DET4/18/2015 5:39:00 PM
Description: Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek was pulled during Saturday's loss against the Lightning.
Insight: He allowed four goals on 18 shots and was lifted after two periods. Jimmy Howard took over and allowed on goal one 12 shots. It will be interesting to see who Detroit rolls with for Game 3.
Ben Bishop, G, TAM4/18/2015 5:38:00 PM
Description: Lightning goalie Ben Bishop rebounded from a poor Game 1, to defeat the Red Wings in Game 2 on Saturday afternoon.
Insight: He made 23 save on 24 shots for his first career playoff win.
Eddie Lack, G, VAN4/18/2015 12:51:00 AM
Description: Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack made 22 saves in the, 4-1, victory in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals on Friday.
Insight: Vancouver dominated this game, outshooting Calgary, 32-23. Lack nearly had the shutout, but he allowed a goal with under four minutes to go. Lack has stopped 50-of-53 save chances in the series, which is now tied 1-1.
Andrew Hammond, G, OTT4/17/2015 10:10:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond made 39 saves in the Game 2 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals loss to the Canadiens on Friday.
Insight: Hammond allowed three very makable saves, which was disappointing as the Senators were very close to stealing a game in Montreal. Hammond allowed the game-winner in overtime on a shot that went through his arm. It's not like Hammond has been bad, but he will have to be better if Ottawa is going to comeback from the 2-0 deficit versus Montreal.
Braden Holtby, G, WAS4/17/2015 6:40:00 PM
Description: Capitals netminder Braden Holtby is not starting Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Islanders according to NBC Sports.
Insight: It's a tough break for the Capitals, who already trail in the series, 1-0. Holtby is sick, so Philipp Grubauer will get his first career NHL playoff start. Grubauer has played well this season, but it was in the AHL at Hershey.
Petr Mrazek, G, DET4/16/2015 10:23:00 PM
Description: Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek made 44 saves in the Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Lightning on Thursday.
Insight: Mrazek stopped 44-of-46 shots in the, 3-2, victory. After a rough finish to the season for both Mrazek and fellow Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard, it was unclear who would start in net. It is now clear that Mrazek is the man after his performance in Game 1.
Marc-Andre Fleury, G, PIT4/16/2015 10:06:00 PM
Description: Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury yielded two suspect goals in the first period in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Rangers, but he bounced back to have a very nice game overall.
Insight: On the first shot of the game, Fleury made a save but coughed up a very juicy rebound and Derick Brassard took advantage to score the first goal of the game. The second goal came from Ryan McDonaugh on the point of the power play, but it didn't appear to deflect off of anyone. Another save Fleury probably should have made. To his credit, he made some fantastic saves and controlled his rebounds the rest of the game and prevented Game 1 from getting out of hand. Pittsburgh lost, 2-1, but the Penguins should feel good about the way they played in the second and third periods.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, NYR4/16/2015 10:02:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist had 24 saves in the Game 1 victory in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Penguins on Thursday.
Insight: Lundqvist didn't get much consistent work, but he made some quality saves when the Penguins turned up the heat in the second and third periods. The Rangers defense in front of Lundqvist is so good that Pittsburgh really didn't get a ton of great scoring chances.
Jonas Hiller, G, CAL4/16/2015 12:40:00 AM
Description: Flames goalie Jonas Hiller stopped 29-of-30 shots in the, 2-1, thrilling victory over the Canucks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
Insight: Canucks center Bo Horvat in the second period, but the Flames played the role of comeback kids again as they scored twice in the third period with the final goal coming with under 30 seconds left in regulation. Hiller made 13 saves in that third period.
Eddie Lack, G, VAN4/16/2015 12:37:00 AM
Description: Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack allowed just two goals in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals, but it wasn't enough as Vancouver dropped a heartbreaker, 2-1.
Insight: Lack allowed the game-winner with under 30 seconds to go in the third period. Lack made 28 saves in the loss. Calgary leads the series, 1-0.
Scott Darling, G, CHI4/16/2015 12:33:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks goaltender Scott Darling made 42 saves in relief of Corey Crawford versus the Predators in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Insight: Crawford allowed three goals in the first period as Chicago fell behind, 3-0. Blackhawks coach Joe Quenneville replaced Crawford with the rookie Darling, who was excellent and allowed Chicago to comeback and win. Darling was particularly good in overtime, stopping all 23 shots he faced. It will be interesting to see if the Blackhawks stick with Darling in Game to or go back to Crawford.
Jaroslav Halak, G, NYI4/15/2015 10:31:00 PM
Description: Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak made 24 saves in the, 4-1, victory over the Capitals in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Insight: Halak wasn't tested much and only game up a goal towards the end of the first period. He helped the Islanders kill two penalties as well. Halak was 28-17-4 this season.
Ryan Miller, G, VAN4/12/2015 11:01:00 AM
Description: Canucks goalie Ryan Miller allowed five goals in his return to the net on Saturday against the Oilers.
Insight: This does not bode well for Miller starting in the playoffs. This was Miller's first start since Feb. 22, and the fact he allowed five goals to lowly Edmonton should not give Vancouver much confidence. It will be interesting to see who the Canucks start in net.
Frederik Andersen, G, ANA4/12/2015 10:55:00 AM
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen allowed just one goal in the, 2-1, victory over the Coyotes in the season finale.
Insight: Andersen made 23 saves in the victory. He hit a road bump, allowing four goals to the Stars on Wednesday, but Andersen has been solid lately. He has allowed two goals or fewer in four of his last five starts. Andersen will probably be the starting goaltender for the top-seeded Ducks in the playoffs.
Ben Bishop, G, TAM4/11/2015 10:23:00 PM
Description: Lightning goalie Ben Bishop won his 40th game of the season with a shootout victory over the Bruins on Saturday.
Insight: The victory eliminated the Bruins from playoff contention. Bishop made 36 saves in the win. He finished 40-13-5 in 2014-15.
Carey Price, G, MON4/11/2015 10:14:00 PM
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price didn't look great, but he did win his 44th game of the season on Saturday.
Insight: Price allowed three goals against the Maple Leafs to record a .864 save percentage, but he stopped both Toronto shots in the shootout. Price finishes the regular season 44-16-6 and is the favor to win the Vezina Trophy.
Cam Ward, G, CAR4/11/2015 9:56:00 PM
Description: Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward played well in the final game this season, stopped 27-of-28 shots.
Insight: But as usual, Ward did not get the win because the offense in front of him is awful. Ward didn't have a great season statistically, but on a better team, he could have won more games. He finished 22-24-5.
Marc-Andre Fleury, G, PIT4/11/2015 9:50:00 PM
Description: In the biggest game of the season, Marc-Andre Fleury captured his 10th shutout of the season as the Penguins clinched the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Insight: Fleury made some nice saves in the first period on Saturday versus the Sabres, but Buffalo didn't get many chances after that. Fleury made 28 saves in the crucial game. He finished the year 34-20-9.
Jonathan Quick, G, LOS4/11/2015 6:39:00 PM
Description: Kings goalie Jonathan Quick made 20 saves in the season finale to beat the Sharks, 4-1, on Saturday.
Insight: Quick was a bit disappointing this season with a 36-22-13 record, but his team just didn't play as well around him as they did a season ago. Quick and the Kings should be a contender again in the Western Conference next season.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, NYR4/11/2015 6:32:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist won his 30th game of the season on Saturday as New York beat Washington, 4-2.
Insight: Lundqvist made 22 saves in the victory to improve his record to 30-13-3. Fantasy owners were a bit disappointed with Lundqvist's numbers this season, but it wasn't his fault he missed so much time with his neck injury. Lundqvist and the Rangers appears poised for another deep playoff run.
Andrew Hammond, G, OTT4/11/2015 6:27:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond won his 20th goal of the season on Saturday.
Insight: Hammond and the Senators clinched a playoff spot with the victory over the Flyers. Hammond finished the season an incredible 20-1-2.
Marc-Andre Fleury, G, PIT4/10/2015 9:36:00 PM
Description: Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury allowed three goals during Friday loss to the Islanders.
Insight: He made 23 saves on 26 shots. Fleury is now 33-20-9 on the season. He will be in there for the finale against Buffalo, as Pittsburgh needs a win to get into the postseason.
Jaroslav Halak, G, NYI4/10/2015 9:35:00 PM
Description: Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak defeated the Penguins on Friday night.
Insight: Halak made 37 saves on 38 shots. He is now a solid 38-17-3 on the season. He will likely get the final game off, as New York heads into postseason play.
Cam Ward, G, CAR4/9/2015 9:40:00 PM
Description: Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward picked up a win Thursday versus Philadelphia.
Insight: He made 26 saves on 27 shots, and is now 22-23-5 on the season.
Andrew Hammond, G, OTT4/9/2015 9:38:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond posted a shutout Thursday against the Rangers.
Insight: Hammond made 26 saves and has been a savior for Ottawa and fantasy owners as well. He is now 19-1-2 overall.
Sergei Bobrovsky, G, CLB4/8/2015 10:20:00 PM
Description: Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky earned a shutout on Wednesday night.
Insight: He defeated the Maple Leafs by stopping all 35 shots on goal. He is now 29-17-3 on the season.
Pekka Rinne, G, NAS4/8/2015 9:52:00 AM
Description: Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne continues his slump, losing on Tuesday, 3-2, to the Avalanche.
Insight: Rinne has lost his last three starts and allowed at least three goals in each of his last four games. He did lose two of those last three starts in overtime and the shootout, though, so for fantasy owners, they didn't count as losses. Despite the struggles, Rinne is still 41-16-6 with a 2.17 GAA and .923 save percentage this season.
Semyon Varlamov, G, COL4/8/2015 9:49:00 AM
Description: Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov made 40 saves in the, 3-2, victory over the Predators on Tuesday.
Insight: Varlamov seems to be better when he faces more shots. In the last three games where Varlamov faces at least 40 shots, he has posted a .921 save percentage or better. He is 27-20-8 this season.
Corey Crawford, G, CHI4/7/2015 11:02:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford allowed two goals during Tuesday's loss to the Wild.
Insight: He made 28 saves on 30 total shots, and is now 32-19-5 on the season.
Devan Dubnyk, G, MIN4/7/2015 11:01:00 PM
Description: Wild goaltender Devin Dubnyk nearly recorded a shutout, allowing just one goal in the final two minutes as Minnesota beat Chicago, 2-1, on Tuesday.
Insight: This was a huge two points for Minnesota, beating Chicago on the road. This clinches a playoff spot for the Wild. Dubnyk made 32 saves in what was his 36th victory of the season.
Jake Allen, G, STL4/7/2015 10:40:00 PM
Description: Blues goalie Jake Allen took a tough loss Tuesday versus Winnipeg.
Insight: Allen allowed just one goal on 31 shots, but the Blues fell 1-0. He is now 21-7-4 overall.
Ondrej Pavelec, G, WINHot4/7/2015 10:38:00 PM
Description: Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec picked up his second consecutive shutout Tuesday against the Blues.
Insight: He blanked the Wild on Monday and was back at it on Tuesday versus St. Louis. Pavelec stopped all 30 shots, and is now 22-16-7 on the season.
Devan Dubnyk, G, MIN4/6/2015 10:50:00 PM
Description: Wild goaltender Devin Dubnyk made 32 saves in a rare regulation defeat on Monday.
Insight: Minnesota wasn't able to score, so Dubnyk lost, 2-0. He is now 32-13-4 this season.
Ondrej Pavelec, G, WIN4/6/2015 10:49:00 PM
Description: Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec picked up a shutout against the Wild on Monday.
Insight: Pavelec was able to do what a lot of goalies haven't been able to since Jan. 15, and that's beat Devan Dubnyk in regulation. This is a huge victory as the Jets move back in front of the Los Angeles Kings by two points. Los Angeles has yet to play on Monday, but after that, both teams will have three games left.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, NYR4/6/2015 10:06:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist had 29 saves in the, 4-3, overtime victory ove the Blue Jackets on Monday.
Insight: Lunqvist did allow three goals in the victory, so his save percentage was just .906 and the GAA was just under three. Don't be surprised if the Rangers rest Lundqvist once or twice with three games remaining the Rangers pretty much guaranteed to be the top seed in the east.
Sergei Bobrovsky, G, CLB4/6/2015 10:04:00 PM
Description: Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky snapped his eight-game winning streak in the loss to the Rangers on Monday.
Insight: It was an overtime loss, so it won't count as a defeat for fantasy purposes, but Bobrovsky wasn't great, allowing four goals on 42 shots versus New York. He has been very streaky this year with two winning streak of seven games or longer and two losing streaks of four games or longer, so just because Bobrovksy has won eight of the last nine doesn't mean he won't take a turn for the worse in the last week of the season.
Andrew Hammond, G, OTT4/5/2015 10:45:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Andrew Hammond made 36 saves in the shootout loss to the Maple Leafs on Sunday.
Insight: This was a game Ottawa really needed, but at least they still got a point. With Pittsburgh and Detroit losing on Sunday, Ottawa is just two points behind both those teams with three games to play. The Senators and Penguins will play on Tuesday. Hammond is now 17-1-2 this season.
Jonathan Bernier, G, TOR4/5/2015 10:38:00 PM
Description: Maple Leafs goaltender Jonathan Bernier made 43 saves in the, 3-2, shootout victory over the Senators on Sunday.
Insight: The only goals Bernier allowed versus Ottawa came on the power play, so he looked very good on Sunday. He also stopped five-of-six shootout attempts. He, however, is still just 21-28-6 this season.
Corey Crawford, G, CHI4/5/2015 10:14:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford allowed just two goals and lost, 2-1, to the Blues on Sunday.
Insight: Crawford made 31 saves in the loss. He is 32-18-5 this season.
Jake Allen, G, STL4/5/2015 10:12:00 PM
Description: Blues goalie Jake Allen made 38 saves in the, 2-1, victory over the Blackhawks on Sunday.
Insight: Allen has looked very good in his last three starts, allowing four goals in those three games. Allen is 21-6-4 this season.
Petr Mrazek, G, DET4/5/2015 8:24:00 PM
Description: Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek played well in the loss to the Capitals on Sunday.
Insight: The Red Wings are trying to settle their goalie situation going into the playoffs, and Mrazek appears to be the guy. He made 26 saves on 28 shots in the, 2-1, loss. Of course, Detroit still has to clinch a playoff spot with the Ottawa Senators just three points back and a game in hand.
Braden Holtby, G, WAS4/5/2015 8:22:00 PM
Description: Capitals netminder Braden Holtby allowed just one goal in the, 2-1, victory over the Red Wings on Sunday.
Insight: Washington has spent most of the season in fourth place of the Metropolitian Division, but with the collpase of the Islanders and Penguins, the Capitals have a great chance to finish in second and have home ice in the first round. Holtby made 35 saves and is now 39-19-10 this season.
Carey Price, G, MON4/5/2015 8:19:00 PM
Description: Canadiens goaltender Carey Price rebounded in a big way on Easter versus the Panthers.
Insight: Price's last victory was last Saturday against the Panthers, but he allowed four goals in each game in his last two starts. Price made 25 saves in the victory on Sunday. He is 42-16-6 this season.
Steve Mason, G, PHI4/5/2015 3:02:00 PM
Description: Flyers goaltender Steve Mason stood on his head on Sunday against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Mason was absolutely phenomenal during Sunday's victory, stopping 46-of-47 shots on goal. His 17-17-11 record is not an indication of how well he has played this season.
Ben Bishop, G, TAM4/4/2015 9:44:00 PM
Description: Lightning goalie Ben Bishop pitched a shutout Saturday against the Panthers.
Insight: Bishop was fantastic all night, stopping all 33 shots on goal. He is now 38-13-5 on the season.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, NYR4/4/2015 9:42:00 PM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist allowed just one goal during Saturday's victory over the Devils.
Insight: He faced 35 total shots and frustrated New Jersey all game. Lundqvist is now 28-12-3 on the season.
Jaroslav Halak, G, NYI4/4/2015 9:42:00 PM
Description: Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak earned a shutout Saturday versus Buffalo.
Insight: He faced just 21 shots on goal, but did enough not to let a goal by. Halak is now an impressive 37-16-3 overall.
