Jake Allen, G, STL12/14/2014 10:35:00 AM
Description: Blues goalie Jake Allen had his best game of the month on Saturday.
Insight: Allen has struggled since Brian Elliott went down with an injury and Martin Brodeur joined the team, so it was nice for him to play well in a victory. Allen made 23 saves on 25 shots as the Blues won, 3-2, in overtime.
Henrik Lundqvist, G, NYR12/14/2014 10:27:00 AM
Description: Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist had a great Saturday night.
Insight: Lundqvist allowed just one third-period goal on 30 shots to lead the Rangers to a, 5-1, victory over the Canucks. He is 11-7-3 with a 2.63 GAA and .909 save percentage, which is very un-Lundqvist like. Perhaps Saturday will get him going.
Ryan Miller, G, VAN12/14/2014 10:25:00 AM
Description: Canucks goalie Ryan Miller is all the sudden struggling big time.
Insight: An early-season favorite for the Vezina Trophy, Miller has allowed 11 goals over the last three games, and in one of those contests, he played just 25 minutes. His save percentage in that stretch is .820. Hopefully Miller can get back on track with some time off as the Canucks play next on Wednesday.
Cory Schneider, G, NJD12/14/2014 10:18:00 AM
Description: Devils goal Cory Schneider did not finish Saturday's game due to a coach's decision.
Insight: New Jersey pulled Schneider after he allowed four goals in the first two periods. He did make 29 saves though, facing 33 shots. Schneider continues to see the most work in the league and is 11-14-3 with a 2.61 GAA and .916 save percentage this season.
Devan Dubnyk, G, ARI12/14/2014 10:10:00 AM
Description: Coyotes goalie Devan Dubnyk posted a better save percentage than his opposing goalie but got the loss.
Insight: Dubnyk made 32 saves on 35 shots whereas Nicklas Backstrom had 27 saves on 30 shots, but Backstrom did better in the shootout. Dubnyk has decent numbers, 5-2-2, 2.74 GAA and .917 save percentage, as Mike Smith's backup, but what is frustrating fantasy owners is the fact he has yet to take over the starting role. Dubnyk is 0-2-1 in his last three starts which will not win him the job.
Niklas Backstrom, G, MIN12/14/2014 10:05:00 AM
Description: Wild netminder Niklas Backstrom made 27 saves in the, 4-3, shootout victory over the Coyotes on Saturday.
Insight: Backstrom allowed all three goals and one shootout score but did shut the door on the other two shootout attempts. Backstrom is 5-2-1 this season as Darcy Kuemper's backup.
Frederik Andersen, G, ANA12/13/2014 10:38:00 PM
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen won again on Saturday. 17
Insight: Andersen has won his last six starts as the Ducks are on a seven-game winning streak. Over that streak, Andersen's numbers haven't been that impressive as the Ducks offense has really carried them. Andersen has a .914 save percentage and a 2.40 GAA.
Jaroslav Halak, G, NYI12/13/2014 10:27:00 PM
Description: Islanders goalie Jaroslav Halak won his 15th game of the season on Saturday.
Insight: Halak stopped 23-of-25 shots to help the Islanders defeat the Blackhawks, 3-2. He came into the game with a .916 save percentage and 2.40 GAA. Halak is now 15-6-0.
Braden Holtby, G, WAS12/13/2014 10:21:00 PM
Description: Capitals netminder Braden Holtby had a good game against the Lightning on Saturday.
Insight: Holtby shut out the Lightning through 55 minutes of the game. He allowed two late goals to make things interesting, but Washington added an empty-net goal as they won, 4-2. Holtby is 12-7-4 this season.
Jonathan Bernier, G, TOR12/13/2014 10:12:00 PM
Description: Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier stopped 27-of-28 shots to lift the Maple Leafs over the red hot Red Wings, 4-1.
Insight: Bernier is 4-1-0 with a .928 save percentage over his last four games. He is 12-6-3 and came into the game with a 2.63 GAA and .918 save percentage for the season.
Sergei Bobrovsky, G, CLB12/13/2014 9:59:00 PM
Description: Blue Jackets goalie Sergei Bobrovsky won his sixth straight start on Saturday.
Insight: It took a shootout, but Columbus picked up a much-needed two points as they try to get back into the playoff race. Bobrovsky made 33 saves, allowing three goals and the game-tying score with 10 seconds left in regulation. The goalie then stopped two-of-three shootout attempts from the Penguins.
Frederik Andersen, G, ANA12/13/2014 9:39:00 AM
Description: Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen earned the victory Friday against the Oilers.
Insight: He made 21 saves on 23 shots, and has now won six consecutive games. Anderson is an early candidate for the Vezina Trophy, as he sports a 16-4-4 record, with a 2.44 GAA and .913 save percentage.
Ben Scrivens, G, EDM12/13/2014 9:37:00 AM
Description: Oilers goalie Ben Scrivens replaced Viktor Fasth in the second period, and stopped all 12 shots on Friday night.
Insight: Unfortunately it was too little too late, as Edmonton fell to the Ducks 4-2 after an empty-netter. Fasth stopped 10-of-13 shots on goal before being pulled.
