For The Last 365 Days

Tomas Fleischmann, LW4/27/2013 10:36:00 PM
Description: Florida left wing Tomas Fleischmann produced two goals Saturday in a season-ending win over the Lightning.
Insight: Fleischmann led the Panthers with 35 points this season (12 goals, 23 helpers). Unfortunately, he also finished the year with a -10 rating.
Jacob Markstrom, G4/23/2013 10:07:00 PM
Description: Panthers goalie Jacob Markstrom held the Rangers to two goals on 38 shots Tuesday night to snap a personal six-game losing streak.
Insight: The 23-year-old goalie has had his moments this season, but the Panthers will have to put a better defense in front of him if he's going to be a fantasy option next season.
Dmitry Kulikov, D4/21/2013 4:15:00 PM
Description: Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov will likely miss the rest of the season, Panthers coach Kevin Dineen said. SOURCE: George Richards, Miami Herald
Insight: Kulikov appeared to injured his arm or shoulder in a collision with Boston's Jaromir Jagr during Sunday's game.
Brian Campbell, D4/20/2013 9:43:00 PM
Description: Panthers defenseman Brian Campbell a goal and an assist Saturday against the Devils.
Insight: Campbell has eight goals and 26 points this season, but his -20 sinks his value.
Jose Theodore, G4/20/2013 9:27:00 PM
Description: Panthers goalie Jose Theodore (groin) will miss the rest of the season, according to Renaud Lavoie of RDS.ca.
Insight: Theodore was hoping to return for a couple games after tearing his groin in early March. The veteran had a miserable 3.29 GAA this season and will be a free agent this summer.
Peter Mueller, C4/16/2013 6:49:00 PM
Description: Florida forward Peter Mueller will miss Tuesday's game due to the birth of his child.
Insight: Mueller has only 17 points in 40 games, but he does have 122 SOG, which ranks 29th in the NHL.
Jacob Markstrom, G4/16/2013 5:25:00 PM
Description: Jacob Markstrom has been confirmed as the starting netminder for Florida's game against the Islanders on Tuesday.
Insight: The 23-year-old goalie has shown flashes of a future top netminder this season, but Florida's terrible defense makes him too risky to start at this juncture of the season.
Dmitry Kulikov, D4/16/2013 12:38:00 PM
Description: Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov is probable for Tuesday's game against the Islanders with a lower-body injury.
Insight: Kulikov put up 28 points in 2011-12, but has disappointed fantasy owners who were looking for that level of production in 2012-13. He's got just two goals and seven assists in 30 games.
Tomas Fleischmann, LWHot4/11/2013 10:44:00 PM
Description: Panthers left wing Tomas Fleischmann extended his scoring streak to seven games with two points (1 G, 1 A) Thursday against the Jets.
Insight: Fleischmann has three goals and eight points during the streak. He was actually a +1 Thursday, which is tough to do when your team allows six even-strength goals and scores two.
Jacob Markstrom, G4/11/2013 10:38:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom let in six goals on 23 shots in 32 minutes against the Jets on Thursday.
Insight: Markstrom has shown flashes of a future top netminder but he just cannot be trusted the remainder of this season.
Jacob Markstrom, G4/11/2013 6:30:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom will draw the start Thursday against the Jets.
Insight: Markstrom sat out a game after allowing four goals to Washington in his last start. He has a 2.68 GAA and .918 SV% this season.
Tomas Kopecky, RW4/6/2013 10:27:00 PM
Description: Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky scored two goals in the third period Saturday against the Capitals, including one with less than a minute left and the game already out of reach.
Insight: Fantasy owners will appreciate Kopecky going down to the wire and scoring 19:27 into the third period to make it 4-3. He has three goals over his last two games and 14 on the season.
Jack Skille, RW4/6/2013 11:46:00 AM
Description: Florida winger Jack Skille is expected to be activated from injured reserve for Saturday's game against Washington.
Insight: Skille has three goals and 11 points for the season, but that's not enough to warrant attention from fantasy owners even when healthy.
Drew Shore, C4/6/2013 11:46:00 AM
Description: Panthers center Drew Shore is probable for Saturday's game against Washington while dealing with an upper body injry.
Insight: With just two goals and 11 assist in 34 games and an ugly -6 rating, Shore has done little to make fantasy owners happy.
Shawn Matthias, CHot3/30/2013 10:16:00 PM
Description: Florida center Shawn Matthias forced overtime by scoring with 27 seconds left in the third period Saturday against New Jersey.
Insight: Matthias has netted five goals in his last three outings. He'll finish the month with 11 tallies in 16 games.
Shawn Matthias, CHot3/28/2013 10:50:00 PM
Description: Panthers center Shawn Matthias lit the lamp twice Thursday in a win over Buffalo.
Insight: Matthias has now registered three goals in his last two games. Overall, he's scored nine goals in 15 games since the start of the month.
Jacob Markstrom, GHot3/28/2013 2:27:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom will get another start Thursday against the Sabres.
Insight: Markstrom has saved 139 of 145 shots (.959 SV%) over his last four starts (2-2), all of which came on the road.
Jacob Markstrom, GHot3/26/2013 6:09:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom, who has made 111 of 114 saves over the last three games, will start Tuesday against the Maple Leafs.
Insight: Markstrom has been tremendous since taking over as Florida's full-time starter following Jose Theodore's injury. He's a risky play most games since the Panthers allow so many SOG, but he's worth the risk in fantasy league's that count saves.
Jack Skille, RW3/25/2013 1:25:00 PM
Description: Florida winger Jack Skille is doubtful for Tuesday's game against Toronto with an upper body injury.
Insight: Skille has three goals and 11 points for the season, but that's not enough to warrant attention from fantasy owners even when healthy.
Eric Selleck, LW3/25/2013 1:16:00 PM
Description: In his first NHL game, Selleck sustained a concussion and will be sidelined for a while.
Insight: Impressively he produced 17 penalty minutes in his debut, but also incurred a two-game suspension for an altercation. His fantasy value is non-existent
Erik Gudbranson, D3/25/2013 1:15:00 PM
Description: Florida defenseman Erik Gudbranson missed Saturday's contest because of the flu and is questionable for Tuesday's game against Toronto.
Insight: Gudbranson needs to figure out how to fix his plus-minus rating, currently at -17, before fantasy owners will look at him.
Brian Campbell, D3/21/2013 9:55:00 PM
Description: Panthers defenseman Brian Campbell scored the first of Florida's three goals Thursday against New York.
Insight: Campbell has provided tremendous production from the blue line with seven goals and 12 assists in 31 games but he is a minus-18 for the season.
Tomas Kopecky, RW3/21/2013 9:53:00 PM
Description: Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky scored a goal on three shots Thursday against the Rangers.
Insight: Kopecky has provided fantasy owners with 10 goals and 14 points over the past 18 games.
Jacob Markstrom, G3/21/2013 9:46:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom made 44 saves on 45 shots Thursday against the Rangers in a 3-1 win.
Insight: Markstrom has won two straight starts with a 1.00 GAA and a .975 SV% on 79 shots. However, it's difficult to trust a Panthers goaltender since the defense allows so many easy looks.
Shawn Matthias, C3/19/2013 10:08:00 PM
Description: Florida center Shawn Matthias has six goals and 28 SOG over 10 games this month.
Insight: Matthias is getting a lot of playing time as Florida's third-line center with some inexperienced players on the first two lines.
Tomas Fleischmann, LW3/19/2013 10:04:00 PM
Description: Panthers left wing Tomas Fleischmann scored one of Florida's four goals Tuesday against Carolina.
Insight: Fleischmann, who came in with a minus-14 rating this season, was a plus-2 for the game.
Ed Jovanovski, D3/16/2013 12:00:00 PM
Description: Florida Panthers defenseman Ed Jovanovski could be activated from injured reserve in time for Saturday's game against the New York Islanders.
Insight: Jovanovski hasn't been a viable fantasy option since 2009 therefore this injury shouldn't have hurt too many owners. He has played just five games this season with one point, a -2 rating and six SOG.
Jacob Markstrom, G3/14/2013 4:41:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom is 1-3-1 with a 3.41 GAA over five starts since being named the starting goaltender. He'll sit Thursday against the Bruins in favor of Scott Clemmensen.
Insight: Florida has been a disaster this season, and it starts with its defense and goaltending. Clemmensen is 2-3-2 with a 4.28 GAA in 11 games. However, he has a 2.20 GAA in his career against the Bruins (654 min).
Kris Versteeg, RW3/14/2013 1:47:00 PM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg will miss the rest of the season after undergoing knee surgery. SOURCE: George Richards, Miami Herald
Insight: Versteeg had 54 points last season but only played 10 games this year due to injuries. The Panthers have lost two potential veteran trade chips in Stephen Weiss and Versteeg for the season. Youngsters Jonathan Huberdeau (19), Peter Mueller (24) and Drew Shore (22) should continue to skate on the top line while Tomas Kopecky will resume skating on the second line with Marcel Goc and Tomas Fleischmann.
Kris Versteeg, RW3/13/2013 1:48:00 PM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg is doubtful for Thursday's game against Boston with a right knee injury.
Insight: Versteeg suffered this latest injury in Florida's loss to Tampa Bay on Tuesday night. The forward has had a disappointing season to date, missing time due to injury and posting just four points with 20 SOG and a -8 rating in 10 games.
Jacob Markstrom, G3/7/2013 10:18:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jacob Markstrom gave up a goal on each of his first two shots and was pulled from Thursday's game against Washington.
Insight: Scott Clemmensen went on to allow five more goals. Markstrom has promise but we aren't ready to trust a Florida goaltender in fantasy leagues just yet.
Jacob Markstrom, G3/7/2013 5:17:00 PM
Description: Florida will go with Jacob Markstrom in net Thursday against the Capitals.
Insight: Panthers GM Dale Tallon said that the netminder would serve as the team's primary option in net for the rest of the season. Markstrom saved 30 of 31 shots Tuesday to win his first start following that declaration.
Jacob Markstrom, G3/5/2013 10:00:00 PM
Description: Florida goaltender Jacob Markstrom had 30 saves on 31 shots in a win over Winnipeg Tuesday night.
Insight: The performance came in Markstrom's first start after Panthers GM Dale Tallon said that the netminder would serve as the team's primary option in net for the rest of the season.
Stephen Weiss, C3/5/2013 6:12:00 PM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss (wrist) will need season-ending surgery, Panthers GM Dale Tallon said.
Insight: Weiss has been bothered by the wrist injury all season and only had four points in 17 games. Marcel Goc should continue to center the second line with wingers Tomas Fleischmann and Tomas Kopecky.
Jacob Markstrom, G3/5/2013 6:00:00 PM
Description: Panthers GM Dale Tallon said that Jacob Markstrom will serve as the team's primary goaltender going forward, according to NHL.com.
Insight: Markstrom, 23, has long been projected as Florida's future starting goaltender. With Jose Theodore out for 5-6 weeks with a groin injury, Markstrom's time is now.
Jose Theodore, G3/4/2013 7:44:00 PM
Description: A torn groin will keep Panthers goalie Jose Theodore sidelined for the next 5-to-6 weeks. SOURCE: Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Theodore could be done for the season. For now, Florida will have to rely on Scott Clemmensen (2-3-2, 4.15 GAA) to fill the void between the pipes.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C3/3/2013 8:54:00 PM
Description: Panthers rookie forward Jonathan Huberdeau had two goals Sunday, taking him up to 10 on the year.
Insight: The 19-year-old Huberdeau has 15 points in his first 22 NHL games but he has been predictably inconsistent. He went without a point in five straight games prior to Sunday and had a minus-5 rating in that span.
Jose Theodore, G3/3/2013 4:49:00 PM
Description: Florida goalie Jose Theodore has a torn right groin and might have to have surgery, according to RDS.
Insight: Theodore played just two minutes before suffering the injury on Saturday. He was coming off a strong relief appearance Thursday -- 48 minutes, 1.000 SV% -- after allowing 13 goals in his previous three. Scott Clemmensen and youngster Jacob Markstrom will handle goaltending duties going forward but neither player offers much fantasy value on a Florida team that has allowed the fifth-most SOG per game in the NHL.
Jose Theodore, G3/2/2013 9:20:00 PM
Description: Florida goalie Jose Theodore left Saturday's game with a lower body injury.
Insight: Scott Clemmensen (3.98 GAA, .865 save percentage) came on to take Theodore's place after the injury. He'll probably see most of the action in net if this injury causes Theodore to miss time.
Mike Weaver, D3/1/2013 11:32:00 AM
Description: Florida defenseman Mike Weaver suffered a lower body injury on Thursday and is expected to miss "substantial time," according to coach Kevin Dineen.
Insight: Weaver isn't a big goal-scorer, but does have seven points in 19 games this season.
Scott Clemmensen, G2/28/2013 12:46:00 PM
Description: Florida goaltender Scott Clemmensen will man the crease Thursday against Buffalo.
Insight: Jose Theodore is a mess right now, giving up 13 goals over his last 161 minutes (4.84 GAA) and 42 on the season. Clemmensen hasn't been great either with a 3.62 GAA.
Stephen Weiss, C2/27/2013 1:44:00 PM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss is questionable for Thursday's game against Buffalo after heading home for the funeral of his grandmother.
Insight: Weiss has scored 20 goals in three straight season, though he has just one this season in 14 games. A -11 rating is also troublesome for fantasy owners.
Tomas Kopecky, RW2/26/2013 10:25:00 PM
Description: Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky's hat trick helped Florida beat Pittsburgh 6-4 on Tuesday.
Insight: Kopecky did his damage on four SOG and he added an assist and four PIM. He has six goals over his last six games and eight on the season, a career-high goal-scoring pace by far.
Brian Campbell, D2/26/2013 10:21:00 PM
Description: Florida defenseman Brian Campbell had a goal and two assists with four SOG Tuesday against the Penguins.
Insight: It was Campbell's fifth goal in 19 games, exceeding total for all of last season. However, he has experienced a drop in assists from last season's 0.60 apg and a minus-1 Tuesday made him minus-10 for the year.
Jose Theodore, GCold2/26/2013 10:19:00 PM
Description: Panthers netminder Jose Theodore's season just got a little worse. Staked to a 4-1 lead, Theodore ended up allowing three goals in 11 minutes in the second period before being pulled for Scott Clemmensen.
Insight: Florida ended up pulling out the win, which went to Clemmensen. Theodore has a 3.52 GAA in 13 starts.
Jose Theodore, GCold2/26/2013 5:19:00 PM
Description: Panthers netminder Jose Theodore will get a shot in goal Tuesday against the Penguins.
Insight: Theodore hasn't played just Feb. 18, as the Panthers have tried Scott Clemmensen and Jacob Markstrom in net in an attempt to snap out of their funk. None of the Florida netminders should be started in fantasy leagues right now.
Jacob Markstrom, G2/24/2013 3:01:00 PM
Description: The Panthers will roll with Jacob Markstrom in net Sunday versus Boston.
Insight: Markstrom, 23, has long been projected as Florida's future starting goaltender. He made his season debut Friday with a 3-1 loss against the Penguins. Florida is currently carrying three goaltenders on the roster but none of the three is a good fantasy option given the state of the Panthers' defense.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C2/21/2013 9:43:00 PM
Description: Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau notched two goals Thursday against the Flyers.
Insight: Huberdeau also had two assists and took three SOG. The 19-year-old has been impressive with eight goals and 13 points in his first 16 NHL games. He has five goals on 16 SOG over his last five games.
Scott Clemmensen, G2/21/2013 9:37:00 PM
Description: Florida goaltender Scott Clemmensen made a surprise start Thursday and beat the Flyers with 32 saves on 34 shots.
Insight: Jose Theodore isn't injured and the Panthers recalled young goalie Jacob Markstrom on Wednesday so Clemmensen is the last guy we expected to see between the pipes Thursday. Despite Clemmensen's strong start on Thursday, Florida's poor defense makes any goaltender who starts for the Panthers a weak fantasy play.
Jacob Markstrom, G2/20/2013 4:55:00 PM
Description: The Panthers have called up goaltender Jacob Markstrom from the minors. He is expected to start Thursday.
Insight: Markstrom, 23, has long been projected as Florida's future starting goaltender, according to sun-sentinel.com. The Panthers have lost five in a row and lead the NHL in goals allowed.
Kris Versteeg, RW2/20/2013 2:08:00 PM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg (chest) is questionable for Thursday's game against Philadelphia.
Insight: Versteeg sustained the injury Feb.12 against the Capitals when he was checked into the boards by Alex Ovechkin. The forward has had a disappointing season to date, missing time due to injury and posting just three points with 12 SOG and a -7 rating in seven games.
Kris Versteeg, RW2/16/2013 10:08:00 AM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg has been downgraded further to "expected to miss" Saturday's game against Tampa Bay after missing Wednesday's practice and Thursday's game due to an upper-body injury.
Insight: Versteeg sustained the injury Tuesday against the Capitals when he was checked into the boards by Alex Ovechkin. The forward has had a disappointing season to date, missing time due to injury and posting just three points with 12 SOG and a -7 rating in seven games.
Ed Jovanovski, D2/15/2013 1:10:00 PM
Description: Florida Panthers defenseman Ed Jovanovski will miss at least two more weeks, according to an Miami Herald report.
Insight: Jovanovski hasn't been a viable fantasy option for a couple of seasons therefore this injury shouldn't hurt too many owners. He posted 13 points last season with a -11 rating.
Kris Versteeg, RW2/15/2013 10:08:00 AM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg has been downgraded to doubtful for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay after missing Wednesday's practice and Thursday's game due to an upper-body injury.
Insight: Versteeg sustained the injury Tuesday against the Capitals when he was checked into the boards by Alex Ovechkin. The forward has had a disappointing season, missing time due to injury and posting three points with 12 SOG and a -7 rating in seven games.
Jose Theodore, GCold2/14/2013 1:32:00 PM
Description: Panthers netminder Jose Theodore will start Thursday against Montreal.
Insight: Theodore sat Tuesday as Scott Clemmensen lost to Washington. Both goaltenders have been terrible this season and haven't received much support from Florida's defense.
Kris Versteeg, RW2/13/2013 5:59:00 PM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg is questionable for Thursday's game due to an upper-body injury. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Versteeg sustained the injury Tuesday against the Capitals when he was checked into the boards by Alex Ovechkin. The forward has had a disappointing season, missing time due to injury and posting three points with 12 SOG and a minus-7 in seven games.
Tomas Fleischmann, LW2/12/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: Panthers left wing Tomas Fleischmann had his fourth goal of the season Tuesday versus Washington.
Insight: Fleischmann took four shots, giving him 36 SOG through 12 games. He's the only Florida forward with much fantasy value, though his minus-9 puts a damper on that.
Scott Clemmensen, G2/12/2013 4:35:00 PM
Description: Florida Panthers backup goaltender Scott Clemmensen will get a start Tuesday against the Capitals.
Insight: The Panthers' defense has been horrific this season and it reached a low point Saturday at Washington when they gave up numerous easy opportunities. Starter Jose Theodore let in five goals in 49 minutes in the game before being pulled for Clemmensen. There's no way you can trust either player in fantasy leagues right now.
Jose Theodore, GCold2/9/2013 9:11:00 PM
Description: Panthers netminder Jose Theodore was pulled with about 10 minutes to go in the third period Saturday after allowing five goals to the Capitals.
Insight: Theodore's disastrous start wasn't entirely his fault; his team had no control over the area in front of the net and gave Washington many good scoring chances. That's been the story all season as Theodore has faced 31 SOG per 60 minutes and posted a GAA of 3.41.
Stephen Weiss, C2/7/2013 10:20:00 PM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss has two points and six SOG in three games since returning from a groin injury. He scored his first goal of the season Thursday night.
Insight: Weiss has scored 20 goals in three straight seasons. He didn't take a shot in his first three games of the season before getting injured so it's good to see that he is firing away now.
Jose Theodore, GCold2/7/2013 5:20:00 PM
Description: Panthers netminder Jose Theodore will start Thursday against the Flyers after sitting for Scott Clemmensen on Tuesday.
Insight: Theodore (3-4, 3.33 GAA, .896 SV%) has won two straight starts despite allowing three goals in both games. The Panthers have seemingly improved their defense after giving up an average of 34.5 SOG over their first six games, but keep in mind Philadelphia got to Theodore for three goals in 20 minutes on Jan. 26.
Scott Clemmensen, G2/5/2013 8:11:00 PM
Description: Florida will start Scott Clemmensen Tuesday against the Jets.
Insight: The Panthers' goaltending situation was a game-time decision Tuesday. Clemmensen will make his second start of the season and first since Jan. 22.
Brian Campbell, D2/3/2013 7:24:00 PM
Description: Florida defenseman Brian Campbell has already tied his 2011-12 goal total eight games into the season. He notched his fourth Sunday against Buffalo.
Insight: Campbell was second among defenseman in assists last season with 49. Unfortunately, he is providing a poor plus/minus (-6) for the second straight season.
Stephen Weiss, C2/2/2013 10:08:00 AM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss (groin) is probable for Sunday's game against Buffalo after missing four games.
Insight: Weiss had 57 points (20 G, 37 A), 149 SOG, 60 PIM and 17 PPP last season and is a must start when on the ice.
Scottie Upshall, RW2/2/2013 10:04:00 AM
Description: Florida Panthers winger Scottie Upshall was placed on injured reserve due to an ankle.
Insight: Upshall scored 24 goals and 34 points for the Coyotes back in 2010-11, but was a disappointment last season. He has a goal in seven games this season.
Ed Jovanovski, D2/2/2013 9:59:00 AM
Description: Florida Panthers defenseman Ed Jovanovski will miss Sunday's game against Buffalo and probably another game or two with a knee injury suffered after a collision with Tampa Bay forward B.J. Crombeen.
Insight: Jovanovski hasn't been a viable fantasy option for a couple of seasons therefore this injury shouldn't hurt too many owners. He posted 13 points last season with a -11 rating.
Stephen Weiss, C1/31/2013 2:37:00 PM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss (groin) will miss another game Thursday after failing to sway coach Kevin Dineen during the morning skate. SOURCE: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Weiss tried to skate hard Thursday morning but Dineen doesn't want the forward to aggravate his groin injury. Weiss had one assist in three games but didn't attempt a single shot on goal. He had 57 points (20 G, 37 A), 149 SOG, 60 PIM and 17 PPP last season.
Jose Theodore, GCold1/31/2013 1:55:00 PM
Description: Slumping Panthers goaltender Jose Theodore will start Thursday against the Jets. SOURCE: George Richards, Miami Herald
Insight: Theodore has surrendered eight goals in 80 minutes over his last two games and 15 in 259 on the season (3.48 GAA). Fantasy owners cannot trust Jose Theodore or Scott Clemmensen while the Panthers are allowing 35 SOG per game.
Jose Theodore, G1/29/2013 6:11:00 PM
Description: Panthers goaltender Jose Theodore will start Tuesday against the Lightning.
Insight: Theodore (1-3, 3.02 GAA, .919 SV%) has faced 124 shots in four games this season and Florida has only scored eight goals in five games. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, is leading the league with 24. We wouldn't start Theodore on Tuesday.
Jose Theodore, G1/26/2013 9:06:00 PM
Description: The Panthers pulled Jose Theodore Saturday against the Flyers after he gave up three goals on nine shots in the first period.
Insight: Theodore faced 115 shots in his first three starts but stopped 108 of them. It was only a matter of time before all those shots on goal caught up to him. In his last two games and one period Saturday, Theodore has been given one goal of support.
Stephen Weiss, C1/26/2013 7:35:00 PM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss will miss his second straight game Saturday against the Flyers due to a lower-body injury.
Insight: Weiss had one assist in the first three games but didn't attempt a single shot on goal in that time.
Jose Theodore, G1/26/2013 4:23:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jose Theodore (1-2) will start Saturday's game against the Flyers.
Insight: Theodore has faced 115 shots in three starts but stopped 108 of them. Unfortunately, Florida has only given him one goal in his last two games.
Stephen Weiss, C1/25/2013 10:59:00 AM
Description: Florida center Stephen Weiss, who was a late sratch on Thursday, is doubtful for Saturday's game against Philadelphia due to a lower body injury.
Insight: The Panthers are down several other regular forwards, so losing their top center (20 G, 37 A last season) is going to hurt.
Jose Theodore, G1/24/2013 3:39:00 PM
Description: Florida netminder Jose Theodore will be back in net Thursday when the Panthers take on the Senators. SOURCE: George Richards, Miami Herald
Insight: Theodore last played Monday when Florida was shut out by Ottawa, the same team it will face Thursday. Scott Clemmensen allowed four goals in a loss to Montreal on Tuesday. The Panthers have given up the second-most SOG in the NHL this season.
Michael Caruso, D1/23/2013 10:06:00 AM
Description: Florida defenseman Michael Caruso left Tuesday's game against Montreal with a bruised wrist.
Insight: Caruso has yet to score a point this season, or take a shot on goal. He has no current fantasy value.
Scott Clemmensen, G1/22/2013 5:52:00 PM
Description: Florida will use Scott Clemmensen in goal on Tuesday versus Montreal.
Insight: Clemmensen will give Jose Theodore a rest for the first time this season. The veteran won 14 games with a 2.57 GAA and a .913 SV% last season.
Kris Versteeg, RW1/22/2013 10:32:00 AM
Description: Florida winger Kris Versteeg, who was placed on the injured reserve Monday, could be activated as early as Friday. He's dealing with a groin injury.
Insight: In his first season with the Panthers, Versteeg played well on the top line alongside Stephen Weiss and Tomas Fleischmann, posting 54 points (23 G, 31 A).
Jose Theodore, G1/20/2013 9:48:00 AM
Description: Florida netminder Jose Theodore recorded 41 saves while allowing just one goal Saturday in a season opening win over the Hurricanes.
Insight: Don't let Theodore's age scare you away (he turned 36 in September). He's still one of the stingiest goaltenders in hockey and plenty worthy of a spot on any fantasy team.
Brian Campbell, D1/19/2013 10:42:00 PM
Description: Florida defenseman Brian Campbell got his season off to a nice start by scoring a pair of goals Saturday in a win against the Hurricanes.
Insight: Campbell was second among defenseman in assists last season (49) but he only had four goals. Saturday was Campbell's first two-goal game since April 12, 2007 against the Islanders.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C1/19/2013 10:27:00 PM
Description: Jonathan Huberdeau came up huge Saturday in the Panthers' 5-1 win over the Hurricanes. He finished with a goal and two assists.
