Roberto Luongo, G10/22/2014 10:03:00 AM
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo picked up his second win of the season in Tuesday's overtime victory.
Insight: He stopped 30-0f-33 shots on goal, and help defeat the Avalanche 4-3. Luongo is now 2-2-1 with a 2.72 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
Brad Boyes, C10/18/2014 10:34:00 PM
Description: Panthers forward Brad Boyes scored with under five minutes to go in the third period on Saturday to earn a point for Florida.
Insight: The Captials led the game, 1-0, for over 52 minutes in the game, but Boyes power play goal sent the contest to overtime. The Panthers lost in the shootout, but still earned a point.
Roberto Luongo, G10/17/2014 9:47:00 PM
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo earned his first shutout of the season.
Insight: It was also his and the team's first win of 2014-15. Luongo stopped all 26 shots, but will continue to be a risky play in regards to wins, as Florida is not a projected playoff team.
Roberto Luongo, G10/13/2014 10:13:00 PM
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo allowed just one goal against the Senators on Monday and lost, 1-0.
Insight: Luongo stopped 22-of-23 shots for a .957 save percentage, but it was not enough to lead Florida to victory. The Senators crashed the net hard, and Luongo looked shaken up a few times, but he played the entire game besides when Florida went with an empty net.
Jussi Jokinen, LW10/11/2014 11:43:00 AM
Description: Panthers winger Jussi Jokinen is enjoying his time on the team's top line with Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau according to Panthers.com.
Insight: Jokinen was one of the better skaters on the ice in Florida's season opener and effectively crashed the net. If there is a hole on your bench, Jokinen is worth considering.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C10/9/2014 10:30:00 PM
Description: Panthers center Jonathan Huberdeau scored a goal to send a game against the Lightning into overtime on Thursday.
Insight: Huberdeau scored on a wrister at the 9:16 mark of the third period. That goal tied the game, 2-2. The Lightning won on the power play in overtime. Huberdeau finished with a plus-one rating and three shots.
Brian Campbell, D9/26/2014 8:15:00 PM
Description: Panthers Brian Campbell is the team's best defenseman, but he is not a worthwhile fantasy player.
Insight: Campbell logs heavy minutes but does not take many shots and is very disciplined, so he does very little to help fantasy teams. He might be able to score some on the power play, but Dmitry Kulikov and Aaron Ekblad are better offensive options.
Tomas Fleischmann, LW9/26/2014 8:10:00 PM
Description: Panthers winger Tomas Fleischmann is a worthy bench player for your fantasy hockey team this season.
Insight: Fleischmann had an awful 2013-2014 season with 28 points, which is his lowest in seven years. In his first season in Florida, he scored 27 goals and 34 assists, both career highs. We don't expect him to get very close to his 27 goal total from three years ago, but 60 points is not out of the question.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C9/26/2014 8:01:00 PM
Description: Panthers center Jonathan Huberdeau is very familiar with Florida's new head coach Gerald Gallant.
Insight: Huberdeau had an amazing junior career while playing under Gallant with the Saint John Sea Dogs. After winning the Calder Trophy in 2012-2013, Huberdeau struggled somewhat with the poor team performance last year. Look for Huberdeau to rebound under his old coach and with a pleathora of young talent around him.
Nick Bjugstad, C9/26/2014 7:56:00 PM
Description: Panthers forward Nick Bjugstad became the first rookie to lead the team in scoring last year.
Insight: Bjugstad had 16 goals and 22 assists in 76 games this season. His 38 points was also the lowest amount to ever lead a NHL team in an 82-game season. We see him increasing those totals this year, but it is unlikely he leads the team in scoring again with a healthy Aleksander Barkov and the addition of Jussi Jokinen.
Brad Boyes, C9/26/2014 7:49:00 PM
Description: Panthers forward Brad Boyes feels much more comfortable at training camp this season than he did a year ago according to Miami Herald.
Insight: Boyes was stuck in a hotel in training camp last year, and he also said it was nice to see familiar faces rather than worried about fitting into a new locker room. He led the team with 21 goals a season ago and could do so again this year.
Aleksander Barkov, C9/26/2014 7:38:00 PM
Description: Panthers center Alexsander Barkov has the potential to score 30 goals this season.
Insight: Our projections have him scoring between 15 and 20, but his high upside makes him a good gamble in the middle rounds of the draft. Barkov is just 19 years old and how productive he is will depend greatly on how much the Panthers can improve under new head coach Gerald Gallant. Barkov will be the top-line center.
Jussi Jokinen, LW9/16/2014 7:44:00 PM
Description: Panthers winger Jussi Jokinen is playing alongside fellow Finn Aleksander Barkov in training camp.
Insight: As excited as we are about the 19-year-old Aleksander Barkov, Jokinen will not be as productive this year as he was a season ago while playing with Penguins star Evgeni Malkin. Last season, Jokinen scored 21 goals, most since 2009-2010, and 36 assists, most since 2005-2006. Expect more like 15 goals and 25-30 assists this year. Jokinen saw top-six minutes for the Penguins last season and finished with 21 goals and 57 points, both his most since 2009-10. However, he'll go from having Evgeni Malkin as his center to 21-year-old Nick Bjugstad, 18-year-old Aleksander Barkov or fellow free agent signee Dave Bolland.
Dave Bolland, C7/3/2014 1:11:00 PM
Description: The Panthers signed Dave Bolland to a five-year, $27.5 million contract on Tuesday.
Insight: It's a massive overpay for a player who isn't a top-line caliber center. Bolland suffered a severed tendon in his ankle last season and played just 23 games for Toronto.
Jussi Jokinen, LW7/3/2014 1:00:00 PM
Description: Jussi Jokinen will likely see a decrese in fantasy value after signing with the Florida Panthers Tuesday.
Insight: Jokinen saw top-six minutes for the Penguins last season and finished with 21 goals and 57 points, both his most since 2009-10. However, he'll go from having Evgeni Malkin as his center to 21-year-old Nick Bjugstad, 18-year-old Aleksander Barkov or fellow free agent signee Dave Bolland.
Nick Bjugstad, C4/10/2014 10:34:00 PM
Description: Florida forward Nick Bjugstad had two goals and one assist Thursday against Toronto.
Insight: The 21-year-old has 38 points in 75 games, tied for fourth among rookies.
Roberto Luongo, G4/10/2014 5:22:00 PM
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo (upper body) was a late scratch from Tuesday's game but will start Thursday, according to nhl.com.
Insight: Luongo has gone 5-6-1 with a 2.45 GAA and a .923 SV% in 12 starts since being traded to Florida.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C4/8/2014 10:19:00 PM
Description: Panthers center Jonathan Huberdeau scored a goal Tuesday against the Flyers.
Insight: It was his ninth of the season. The 20-year-old won the Calder Trophy with 14 goals and 31 points in 48 games last season, but he has just 28 points in 67 games in 2013-14.
Roberto Luongo, G4/1/2014 11:56:00 AM
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo (sore neck) left Thursday's game against Carolina after colliding with Radek Dvorak and didn't join the team on their two-game road trip.
Insight: Luongo should be available for Friday's home game with Calgary. He's 4-5-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .923 SV%.
Roberto Luongo, G3/28/2014 5:16:00 PM
Description: Panthers goalie Roberto Luongo (sore neck) left Thursday's game against Carolina after colliding with Radek Dvorak, according to the Miami Herald.
Insight: Luongo remained in the game after the hit but left after the first period. Florida goalie coach Robb Tallas said that Luongo was pulled for precautionary reasons and that he expected the goalie to start Saturday against Montreal.
Roberto Luongo, G3/25/2014 10:47:00 PM
Description: Roberto Luongo has gone 4-4-1 with a 2.53 GAA and a .923 SV% in nine games since the Canucks traded him to the Panthers.
Insight: Luongo had a worse save percentage with Vancouver and a better goals against average. The 34-year-old made 37 saves on 39 shots during the first 65 minutes and stopped two of three shots in the shootout to earn the win for Florida Tuesday against Ottawa.
Sean Bergenheim, LW3/22/2014 12:10:00 PM
Description: Florida left wing Sean Bergenheim (lower body) is questionable for Saturday's game against Los Angeles.
Insight: Bergenheim left a game on March 11 and hasn't skated in the last five games. He has picked up just two points in his last five games though he does have 24 in 50 games this season.
Roberto Luongo, GHot3/19/2014 10:22:00 AM
Description: Roberto Luongo stole a win for Florida Tuesday at San Jose by making 52 saves on 54 shots in 60 minutes.
Insight: Luongo has blocked .928 percent of his SOG in six games with the Panthers to go 3-2-1.
Jonathan Huberdeau, C3/16/2014 5:44:00 PM
Description: An upper-body injury knocked Panthers center Jonathan Huberdeau out of Sunday's game, according to George Richards of the Miami Herald.
Insight: Huberdeau won the Calder Trophy with 14 goals and 31 points in 48 games last season, but the 20-year-old has had a major sophomore slump. In 66 games, he's managed only eight goals and 27 points.
Sean Bergenheim, LW3/15/2014 2:20:00 PM
Description: Florida left wing Sean Bergenheim (lower body) is questionable for Sunday's game against Vancouver.
Insight: Bergenheim left Tuesday's game with the injury and didn't skate in the next two games . He has picked up just two points in his last five games and has 24 in 50 games this season.
Brian Campbell, D3/14/2014 10:27:00 PM
Description: With a goal and an assist Friday against the Devils, Brian Campbell reached 31 points on the season.
Insight: Campbell has reached the 30-point plateau seven times in his lengthy career. He was also a +4 Friday to break even for the season.
Sean Bergenheim, LW3/12/2014 6:54:00 PM
Description: Florida left wing Sean Bergenheim (lower body) will miss Thursday's game, according to sun-sentinel.com.
Insight: Bergenheim left Tuesday's game with the injury. He has picked up five points in his last seven games but has just 24 in 50 games this season.
Jimmy Hayes, RW3/9/2014 8:04:00 PM
Description: Jimmy Hayes scored both Florida goals Sunday in a loss to Boston.
Insight: Sunday was Hayes' first multi-goal effort in 78 career games. Hayes has been buried on the Panthers' fourth line for much of the season. Despite his nice showing Sunday, we don't anticipate Hayes (seven goals in 37 games) becoming much of a factor in fantasy.
Roberto Luongo, G3/7/2014 10:20:00 PM
Description: Roberto Luongo was excellent Friday in his return to Florida.
Insight: Luongo made 25 saves en route to his fourth shutout of the season. He should be in net again Sunday when the Panthers host Boston.
Roberto Luongo, G3/4/2014 5:25:00 PM
Description: The Canucks have traded goaltender Roberto Luongo and Steven Anthony to the Florida Panthers for Jacob Markstrom and Shawn Matthias, according to Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada.
Insight: Luongo (19-16-6, 2.38 GAA, .917 SV%) played with the Panthers from 2000-06 before being traded to Vancouver. Joining a middling defensive team like Florida won't do much for his fantasy value. It also doesn't make much sense for Florida to pick up a 34-year-old goalie with eight years still remaining on his contract after this season.
Scottie Upshall, RW3/2/2014 7:26:00 PM
Description: Florida winger Scottie Upshall joined teammate Shawn Matthias in posting three points Sunday against the Islanders.
Insight: Upshall scored two goals and had an assist to go with five shots on goal in the victory. With 12 goals, 30 points, 57 PIM and 114 SOG in 55 games, Upshall is a low-end fantasy option.
Shawn Matthias, CHot3/2/2014 7:25:00 PM
Description: Panthers center Shawn Matthias has generated three goals and two assists in two games since March began.
Insight: The 26-year-old only has 16 points in 59 games, however, and skates just 12 minutes per game for Florida.

Description: Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky took an elbow to the head from Slovenia's Sabahudin Kovacevic and is on injured reserve is out indefinitely with a concussion.
Insight: Kopecky has just four goals and eight assists in 49 games so has very limited fantasy value even when healthy.
Brad Boyes, C2/27/2014 2:03:00 PM
Description: Florida forward Brad Boyes should return to action Thursday after being with his wife during the birth of their child.
Insight: Boyes has 15 goals and 26 points on 138 shots, including three goals in his last seven games.
Aleksander Barkov, C2/24/2014 7:57:00 PM
Description: Florida center Alexsander Barkov won't need surgery on his injured knee. SOURCE: Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel
Insight: Barkov suffered the injury while playing for Finland in the Sochi Olympics. Though we haven't heard an official diagnosis yet, fantasy owners should assume that he's out indefinitely.
Tomas Kopecky, RW2/17/2014 2:10:00 PM
Description: Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky took an elbow to the head from Slovenia's Sabahudin Kovacevic and could miss some NHL games due to a possible concussion.
Insight: Kopecky has been ruled out for the remainder of the Olympics. He has just four goals and eight assists in 49 games so has very limited fantasy value.

Description: Panthers right wing Tomas Kopecky did nothing in his first game back after missing four games.
Insight: Kopecky has just four goals and six assists in 44 games so has very limited fantasy value.
Aleksander Barkov, C1/29/2014 10:33:00 AM
Description: The Panthers have placed center Aleksander Barkov on injured reserve. SOURCE: Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel
Insight: The 18-year-old is eligible to return as soon as Saturday against Columbus. He's been playing on Florida's second line alongside Sean Bergenheim (12 goals, six assists) and Brad Boyes (14 goals, ten assists).
Aleksander Barkov, C1/26/2014 10:42:00 AM

Insight: Barkov, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft, has a team-high 24 points on 80 SOG in 50 games. That's solid work from a rookie, but he'll be unlikely to help over the team's four-game road trip.
Aleksander Barkov, C1/24/2014 2:54:00 PM
Description: Panthers rookie center Aleksander Barkov left Tuesday's game against Buffalo with a lower body injury, didn't practice Thursday and has been downgraded to out for Friday's game with Colorado.

Description: Panthers rookie center Aleksander Barkov left Tuesday's game against Buffalo with a lower body injury.
Insight: Barkov, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft, has 23 points in 49 games, but he was scoreless over the past three until adding an assist this evening. He did not return after the injury.

Description: Florida goaltender Tim Thomas hasn't been feeling well and is questionable for Tuesday's game against Buffalo after sitting out Monday's game with Pittsburgh.
Insight: Scott Clemmensen (6-4-1) beat the Penguins on Monday and would get the start if Thomas can't go. Thomas is 12-13-3 on the season with a 2.58 GAA and .917 SV%, but has lost his last two starts.

Description: Florida left wing Sean Bergenheim scored another goal Monday against Montreal, giving him six over his last six games.
Insight: Bergenheim had just two goals in his first 16 games but he's scored eight in his last 12. The 29-year-old's career high in points during his seven-year career is just 29, so don't get too excited with his recent stretch.

Description: Florida defenseman Erik Gudbranson is expected to be activated from injured reserve for Monday's game against Montreal.

Insight: Bergenheim doesn't have much fantasy value, even when healthy which hasn't been since 2011 (hip, abdomen, groin). He's usually a low-end double-digit goals guy who totals around 20-25 points a season.
Tim Thomas, G10/23/2013 4:18:00 PM
Description: Panthers netminder Tim Thomas exited Tuesday's game with a lower body injury and has been placed on injured reserve, according to NHL.com.
Insight: This is already his second lower-body injury of the season. Thomas' talent has never been in question but at age 39, it's fair to wonder how his body will hold up over the course of an 82-game schedule. Jacob Markstrom will take over until Thomas returns.

Jacob Markstrom would take over in net if Thomas is unavailable for Friday night's contest versus Buffalo.
