Description: Blues goaltender Martin Brodeur is taking a one-week leave of absence from the St. Louis Blues according to Blues.nhl.com.
Insight: Brodeur has been up-and-down since joining the Blues. He is 3-3-0 with a 2.87 GAA and .899 save percentage. With Brian Elliott back and Jake Allen as the backup, there is a good chance Brodeur is done in St. Louis.
Description: Blues goalie Jake Allen picked up a much needed victory, but he still didn't play very well.
Insight: Allen hasn't had much playing time lately, but he earned the start Tuesday after he came on in relief for Brian Elliott on Saturday and led St. Louis to a comeback victory. Allen didn't allow a goal until the third period, but he only faced 15 shots in the game, so the save percentage was again below .900.
Description: Blues right winger Vladimir Tarasenko continued his incredible season, picking up two more points on Tuesday versus the Oilers.
Insight: Tarasenko scored in the first period to get the scoring started and then assisted Jaden Schwartz's goal in the second period as the Blues jumped out, 3-0. It got a little interesting at the end, but St. Louis won, 4-2. Tarasenko has 24 goals and 22 assists in 43 games this season.
Description: Blues goalie Jake Allen relieved starter Brian Elliott and stopped 19-of-20 shots to lead St. Louis back over Carolina on Saturday.
Insight: The Blues won in a shootout, 5-4. Elliott left the game after allowing three goals in the first 13 minutes. Allen posted a .950 save percentage the rest of the game. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely many owners started Allen on Saturday since he didn't start and has been struggling. Perhaps this gets him going again.
Description: Blues goalie Brian Elliott returned to game action for the first time in over a month and played pretty well.
Insight: Elliot allowed three goals but that wasn't bad considering he was peppered for 47 shots. His .936 save percentage for a single game was his best number since the last time he started against Nashville on Nov. 8. It will be interesting to see what happens in net for St. Louis with Jake Allen, Martin Brodeur and Elliott as options. For the time being, the Blues will carry three goalies.

Insight: Tarasenko made the game, 3-0, St. Louis late in the third period. He has 22 goals and 17 assists with a plus-19 rating in 36 games this season. Tarasenko is one of the biggest fantasy surprises through nearly the first half.

Insight: With starter Jake Allen struggling, this should only increase the controversy in net for St. Louis. In his last 88 minutes, Brodeur has not allowed a single goal. If owners need help at goalie, Brodeur is worth the gamble.

Insight: Elliott's return would leave the Blues with a glut of good goaltending. Elliott is 8-4-2 with a 1.82 GAA, .931 SV%, Jake Allen is 11-5-2 with a 2.76 GAA, .899 SV%, and future Hall of Fame goalie Brodeur.

Insight: He made 27 saves on 30 shots, and is now 11-3-2 with a 2.49 GAA and .907 save percentage. Allen should continue to hold down the top goaltending spot in St. Louis at least until Brian Elliott returns.

Insight: Martin Brodeur has won the past two games for the Blues, including the last matchup with the Islanders where Allen allowed three goals in the first period. Allen will be looking to rebound Wednesday.

Insight: Brodeur stopped 32-of-34 shots to improve to 2-0-0 this season. Since Jake Allen has struggled so much since Brian Elliott went down with his injury, don't be surprised if Brodeur continues to see playing time.

Insight: After falling behind 3-0 and switching goalies, the Blues scored three straight goals, including two on the power play to tie the game at three. Stastney scored the first goal on the man advantage on passes from Kevin Shattenkirk and David Backes. New York retook the lead on John Tavares' score, but T.J. Oshie answered for St. Louis. Stastney then scored his fifth goal of the season, which proved to be the game-winner.
Description: Backup goaltender Martin Brodeur replaced a rattled Jake Allen after the first period and led the Blues to victory on Saturday.
Insight: Brodeur added to one more victory to his win total, 689, which is already the most all-time. After Allen allowed three goals on 12 shots in the first period, Brodeur yielded just one goal on 15 shots the last two periods. It also helped St. Louis scored six goals over the final 40 minutes. Things are starting to get interesting in net for the Blues.

Insight: Blues coach Ken Hitchcock told reporters it will be "awhile" before Elliott returns. The goaltender skated a few days ago and felt very sore afterwards. Jake Allen will continue to be the starter with Martin Brodeur as his backup.

Insight: The game was tied 1-1 between the two Central Division rivals going into the third period. However, Allen and the Blues allowed three goals in the first six minutes, including two to Patrick Kane. Allen finished with 29 saves on 33 shots in the loss.
Description: Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo had a huge night for leagues that count shots on goal.
Insight: Pietrangelo led the Blues with 10 shots on net Friday versus the Oilers. The next closest teammate had five shots. Pietrangelo scored and had an assist as well. Overall, however, he has been disappointing with just two goals and 11 assists in the first 23 games this season.
Description: Blues right winger Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 13th goal of the season Friday to win in overtime versus the Oilers.
Insight: Tarasenko deked the Oilers defender at the blue line and sniped a shot past Ben Scrivens for the game-winner with 40 seconds left in overtime. Tarasenko also had an assist and now has 13 goals and 12 assists in 23 games.

Insight: Allen replaced Elliott, who suffered a lower-body injury, and allowed two third-period goals as the Senators cameback and won in a shootout, 3-2. Allen stopped just 15-of-17 shots. After posting back-to-back shutouts, Allen has a save percentage of .891 in his last five games. Despite his hot streaking officially ending, Allen is a must-own until fantasy owners know the seriousness of Elliott's injury.
Description: Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is off to a really poor start.
Insight: The season is nearly a quarter of th way done, and Pietrangelo has just seven points after scoring 51 in 81 games last season. He is also minus-five after posting a plus-20 rating a season ago. Hopefully he can turn it around starting Saturday.

Insight: Tarasenko has been tremendous to start this season. He has 11 goals and 11 assists through 19 games. Tarasenko scored the first goal of the game against the Canadiens on Thursday, but the Blues lost, 4-1.

Insight: St. Louis led Buffalo, 3-1, for most of the third period, but the Blues scored three power-play goals inside of three minutes to play. Lindstrom scored two of them. He now has three goals this season.
Description: Blues goalie Brian Elliott will start against the Sabres on Tuesday.
Insight: He made 33 saves in his last start but lost to Nashville on Saturday. This game is a golden opportunity for Elliott owners to pick up a goalie victory. Owners of Jake Allen are likely upset he is not getting the spot start for this game. Against the worst team in the league, Elliott must be in every lineup.

Insight: St. Louis led, 3-0, when Michael Ryder scored for New Jersey to make the lead, 3-1. David Backes scored, and the game appeared to be over with a three-goal lead and under three minutes to go. New Jersey scored two more times to make things interesting, but Allen won his fourth game of the season. He made 24 saves in the game.

Insight: He hasn't taken any hits yet, so we feel he isn't likely to go Monday night, but could return this week. Stastny, a free agent acquisition this summer, has four points in four games this season. He totaled 60 points in 71 games last season for Colorado and is a force when healthy.

Insight: He is coming off a year where he produced 25 goals and 35 assists. Stastny will center the Blues' second line, and should be able to produce similar numbers. Owners should draft him starting in the middle-to-late rounds.

Insight: The 28-year-old Stastny had 25 goals and 60 points in 71 games last season and has produced at least 53 points in a season six times, but the Avalanche didn't have to re-sign him with so many young and talented centers in the fold. Whether he centers the top line or skates on the second line, Stastny is going to be playing with some skilled teammates as the Blues have one of the deepest teams in the NHL.

Insight: Oshie took a high hit last Thursday and is questionable for Game 1 of the postseason on Thursday against the Blackhawks. The 27-year-old had a career-high 21 goals and 60 points in 79 games this season.

Insight: Miller gave up 18 goals in his last five starts of the season and lost all five. He ended up going 10-8-1 with a 2.47 GAA and a .903 SV% in 19 starts with the Blues after starting out 7-0-1 following the trade from Buffalo.

Insight: He's up to 33 goals for the season, along with 27 assists, which is a career-high. Add in a +20 rating and you have a top-tier winger. But he'll miss the game with Buffalo. The Blues can win the game without him, but it will be much tougher on fantasy owners.

Insight: Steen (one goal, two assists) had a hand in three of the five St. Louis goals. He's slowed down considerably since the start of the season but is still ninth in the league in goals scored (31 in 61 appearances).

Insight: Elliott has saved 99 of 105 shots over his past five games (.943 save percentage). Unfortunately, he's behind Ryan Miller on the team's depth and probably won't see more than a handful of starts the rest of the season.
Description: Ryan Miller ran his record to 7-0-1 since joining the Blues with a 16-save effort Monday against Winnipeg.
Insight: We predicted Miller would have an easy time with the Blues after facing 35.3 SOG per game with the Sabres, and that's exactly what has happened. He has faced just 24.1 SOG per game with St. Louis and registered a 1.61 GAA and a .933 SV%.
Description: Blues center T.J. Oshie will not play Monday against the Jets, according to Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. His daughter was born Monday morning.
Insight: Oshie's 54 points (17 G, 37 A), including four in the past two games, leads a Blues team that has seven players with at least 40 points. He should be back for Wednesday's showdown with the Blackhawks.
Description: Blues center Patrik Berglund netted two goals in Saturday's win over Nashville.
Insight: He did it in just ten minutes and 17 seconds of ice time. Berglund recently suffered a lower-body injury and could see a lighter workload until he's back to 100 percent. Six of his 14 goals this season have come in the last month.
Description: Blues forward Vladimir Sobotka (knee) appeared to enjoy being back on the ice Thursday against the Oilers.
Insight: After missing the previous 12 games with a knee fracture, Sobotka had a goal, two assists, two SOG, 12 PIM and a +3 rating Thursday. With 28 points in 47 games, the 26-year-old is one point away from tying his career high.
Description: St. Louis right wing Alexander Steen has recorded three points in his last two games.
Insight: Steen had just one point in his previous seven games entering March. The 30-year-old has had his best season, scoring a career-high 29 goals and putting up 49 points, two off his career high, in 50 games.

Insight: This is going to be weird. Miller played 540 games for the Sabres and probably assumed he would finish his career in Buffalo. Now he finds himself in the middle of a tight battle for first place in the Central Division (St. Louis trails division leader Chicago by two points). Miller made 38 saves against the Coyotes when he faced them in January.
Description: Buffalo has traded Steve Ott along with Ryan Miller to the St. Louis Blues.
Insight: Ott is fourth in the NHL in hits but doesn't carry much fantasy value in standard leagues, as he has nine goals, 11 assists and 99 SOG in 59 games. While his -26 rating will see better days on the Blues, he's likely to get less playing time than he saw on the Sabres.
Description: The Sabres have traded Ryan Miller to the St. Louis Blues for Jaroslav Halak in a swap of goaltenders, according to Bob McKenzie of tsn.ca.
Insight: Miller was scratched from Friday's start so we knew a deal was close. St. Louis is one of the top defensive teams in the NHL and is a great place for Miller to land, while Halak will join one of the worst teams in hockey. There may be more to the deal, and we'll let you know when details emerge.

Insight: The United States won the shootout 4-3 with Oshie scoring all four US goals. Overall, he was 4-for-6 in the shootout. Oshie had two assists in the Olympic opener against Slovakia on Thursday. America's next game is against Slovenia on Sunday.
