Description: Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen likely suffered a concussion Saturday night and is doubtful for Monday's game against Columbus.
Insight: Minnesota's Erik Haula came in hard while trying to control the puck, lost control of his ability to stop when Dallas' Cody Eakin tripped out his right foot and barreled over Lehtonen. The goaltender's helmet flew off and his head hit the crossbar. The Stars just acquired Tim Thomas to serve as insurance for Lehtonen. Smart move.

The goaltender's helmet flew off and his head hit the crossbar. The Stars just acquired Tim Thomas to serve as insurance for Lehtonen, who has been injury-prone in his career.
Description: Stars center Tyler Seguin has put up eight points in his last two games.
Insight: He had a hat trick and two assists Thursday and followed that up with a goal and two assist Saturday. The 22-year-old has broken out with 29 goals and 66 points in 62 games following a trade from the Boston Bruins last offseason.
Description: Stars defenseman Brenden Dillon is doubtful for Monday's game against Buffalo due to a lower body injury.
Insight: Dillon has 14 points to go along with 64 PIM and 79 SOG this season which is a big improvement on last season, but he's fallen on hard times with just two points in his last 20 contests. Look elsewhere for blueline help.
Description: Dallas left wing Jamie Benn has scored a goal in five straight games.
Insight: Benn recorded just 18 points over 29 games from Nov. 21 to Jan. 20, but he's come up with 10 points in his last six games. With 22 goals, 50 points and 191 SOG in 55 games, Benn is on pace for the best season of his five-year career.
Description: Dallas goalie Dan Ellis saved all 26 shots he faced Saturday in a shutout win over Anaheim.
Insight: It's his first clean slate of the season and the 14th of Ellis' career. Ellis has only played in 13 games this season and when he has, his GAA has barely been below three (2.94). Fantasy owners should only consider him in the event of a Kari Lehtonen injury.
Description: Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen has allowed 12 goals in his last two starts, including seven Monday against the Islanders.
Insight: The Stars tried to give Lehtonen the night off on Saturday, but Dan Ellis gave up three goals in the first period and Lehtonen ended up playing the final two. He has some favorable matchups coming up at New Jersey on Thursday and at the New York Rangers on Friday, but he can't be trusted right now.
Description: Stars winger Valeri Nichushkin scored one of Dallas' three goals Monday against the Islanders.
Insight: Nichushkin, the 2013 10th overall pick, has recorded 14 points (seven goals) over his last 17 games and should continue to have decent fantasy value as long as he remains on the top line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn.
Description: Dallas defenseman Aaron Rome (lower body) is questionable for Tuesday's game against Colorado.
Insight: He appeared to injure a leg in Monday against Colorado. He posted just 10 points 2011, but that's his highest output and in three games this season has yet to get on the board. Nothing to see here.
Description: Dallas center Tyler Seguin has two four-point games over his last four games.
Insight: Seguin has shown he's capable of blowing up at any time, but he hasn't been able to put together a lengthy scoring streak. He's recorded 14 points over his last 11 games but had seven zero-point games in that span.
Description: Dallas left wing Jamie Benn scored a goal Saturday for the first time since Nov. 14.
Insight: Benn had a goal and five assists on Nov. 14 but had produced just four points over his last 11 games before potting two goals Saturday. His drought hasn't been due to a lack of shots; he's averaged 4.89 SOG per game over his last nine.
Description: Stars winger Valeri Nichushkin had a goal and three assists Saturday against the Flyers.
Insight: Nichushkin had a hand in all three of Tyler Seguin's goals in the third period and then added one of his own. The 2013 No. 10 overall pick has put up two goals, seven points and a +6 over his last three games and should continue to produce if he can stick on the top line.
Description: Dallas center Tyler Seguin had a natural hat trick Saturday against the Flyers.
Insight: Seguin scored his first goal shortly after the second period began and then had two goals and one assist in a stretch of 1:02 later in the period. He finished the game with four points, two PIM, five SOG and a +4 and snapped a five-game scoring drought.
Description: Dallas center Tyler Seguin (concussion) will be a game-time decision Thursday because he has to pass a baseline test, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Insight: Seguin, who has 12 goals, 23 points and 69 SOG in 24 games this season, missed the last two games due to concussion-like symptoms. He skated Thursday morning and looked great, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News, so he should be able to play.
Description: Dallas center Tyler Seguin is doubtful for Tuesday's game against Chicago with concussion-like symptoms.
Insight: Seguin is a fantasy stud and any missed time is a disaster. He's scored 12 goals and added 11 assists in 24 games. He was skating prior to Monday's practice so it may not be a long wait for his return.
Description: Stars center Tyler Seguin missed another practice Thursday due to a muscle issue, according to Mark Stepneski of stars.nhl.com. Coach Lindy Ruff couldn't guarantee that Seguin will play Friday.
Insight: "We just decided to give him another day. He’s not quite where we need him," Ruff said. "He should be OK for tomorrow, but not definitely." Seguin has 12 goals and 23 points in 23 games this season, his first in Dallas after three years with Boston.
Description: Dallas winger Ray Whitney (groin) is expected to be activated from injured reserve for Tuesday's game against Anaheim.
Insight: The 41-year-old hasn't played since Nov. 9. He has one goal and eight points in 17 games this season, but has been close to a point-a-game guy over the past two seasons (106 points in 114 games).
Description: The Dallas Stars expect to employ Tyler Seguin as the top-line center this season after he was relegated to the third line during the Bruins' run to the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals. SOURCE: NHL.com.
Insight: "I think he's going to have to grow into the responsibility of playing against some of the top lines and being a guy who has to play down low," Dallas coach Lindy Ruff told NHL.com. The 21-year-old Seguin should improve upon his 2012-13 0.67 ppg average (32 points in 48 games) this season with the Stars.
Description: The Bruins have traded 21-year-old forward Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars in a seven-player deal. Seguin, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 draft, had 45 goals, 99 points and a +57 differential in 129 games over the last two seasons, but he put up just one goal and eight points in this year's postseason.
Insight: Seguin was criticized by Boston GM Peter Chiarelli after the draft. Per the Boston Globe, Chiarelli said, "He’s got to commit his mind and focus to the one task at hand. He’s got to become more of a professional. You know what? I can say that about a lot of 21-year-olds. I know he got criticized for playing on the periphery and all that stuff. He did. He’s got to commit to being a professional and focusing on the game. Simple as that. He does that, we don’t expect him to be crashing and banging. Just play your game." Seguin can now focus on becoming more "professional" with the Dallas Stars.
Description: Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen left Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury and is questionable for Friday's game against Nashville.
Insight: Lehtonen gets nicked up often and hasn't been playing well anyway. He had a 2.81 GAA in March and owns a 3.03 GAA this month. Richard Bachman saved all 22 shots in a relief effort Tuesday, though his 3.72 GAA and .860 save percentage won't excite fantasy owners.
Description: Stars right wing Alex Chiasson potted two goals Sunday in a 5-4 win over the Sharks.
Insight: Chiasson was recently called up from the team's AHL affiliate and has played well in his short stint with the team (three goals, +1 in three games). He logged a season-high 17 minutes and 57 seconds of ice time in Sunday night's victory.
Description: Dallas right wing Jaromir Jagr has scored a goal in three straight games with six points in that span.
Insight: Jagr had a goal in four straight from Feb. 28 to March 9 so he still has eight goals and 11 points over his last 11 games despite going four straight games without a point in the middle of this month.
Description: Stars right wing Ray Whitney (upper body) will be a game-time decision Thursday against the Kings.
Insight: Whitney has two goals and five points during his current four-game scoring streak. He attempted eight SOG Wednesday but had to leave the game. The Stars-Kings game doesn't start until 10:30 p.m. ET and is the last game of the night so fantasy owners won't have many options to choose from if they start Whitney.
Description: Stars center Ryan Garbutt suffered an injured hand last Thursday and was placed on the IR retroactive to that game. He's eligible to come off the list Friday, but no timetable for his return has been mentioned.
Insight: According to a Brad Gardner report, Garbutt tweeted about a cast which isn't a good sign. With just five points in 23 games and scoreless in his last 10 games, Garbutt is not producing at a fantasy-worthy level.
Description: Dallas left wing Jamie Benn is active for Saturday's contest against Chicago. Benn missed games on Tuesday and Thursday because of a wrist injury.
Insight: Lately, Benn just hasn't looked as aggressive as he did earlier in the year. Since taking eight shots in a loss to the Oilers on February 28th (he also had 17 penalty minutes in that game), Benn has averaged just 1.3 shots per game. He hasn't spent a minute in the penalty box since that game against Edmonton.
Description: Stars left wing Jamie Benn has missed two games with a bad wrist and is questionable for Saturday's game against Chicago.
Insight: Benn did skate at Friday's practice, but looked tenative. He is scoring at a nice clip (16 points in 19 appearances) and he's spent a decent amount of time in the penalty box (30 PIM). Unfortunately for fantasy owners, his plus/minus rating is just atrocious (-7).
Description: Stars winger Brenden Morrow is doubtful for Thursday's game against Anaheim due to a strained groin.
Insight: Morrow has six goals and five assists in 23 games this season. It could be a while before he returns. The loss of Morrow and Jamie Benn leaves the third member of the line, Jaromir Jagr, without his mates. Jagr played with Cody Eakin and Reilly Smith against Nashville.
Description: Stars left wing Jamie Benn is doubtful for Thursday's game against Anaheim. Benn hurt his wrist last Saturday in a loss at Phoenix.
Insight: Benn missed Tuesday's matchup with Nashville. He is scoring at a nice clip (16 points in 19 appearances) and he's spent a decent amount of time in the sin bin (30 PIM). Unfortunately for fantasy owners, his plus/minus rating is just atrocious (-7).
Description: Stars left wing Jamie Benn isn't expected to play Tuesday against Nashville. Benn hurt his wrist Saturday in a loss at Phoenix.
Insight: Benn's timetable isn't clear at this point but it's safe to rule him out for Tuesday's matchup. Benn is scoring at a nice clip (16 points in 19 appearances) and he's spent a decent amount of time in the sin bin (30 PIM). Unfortunately for fantasy owners, his plus/minus rating is just attrocious (-7).
