Insight: Bolland didn't participate in Monday's practice after missing the final three games of the regular season. The center's production (7 G, 7 A) this season is underwhelming considering he usually skates with Patrick Kane.

Description: Chicago goalie Ray Emery will miss Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals Tuesday against Minnesota with a lower-body injury.
Insight: Emery hasn't played a full game since April 15. He owns a stunning a 17-1-0 record, a 1.94 GAA and a .922 SV%. Fortunately for the Blackhawks, they have two very good goaltenders. Corey Crawford will start in net and he's 19-5-5 with a 1.94 GAA and .926 SV%.

Description: Chicago forward Patrick Sharp is questionable for Monday's game against Vancouver with a shoulder injury.
Insight: The team hasn't specified if this injury is related to the shoulder injury that kept him out of the lineup from March 6 to April 9. He's a must start when he on the ice with 18 points in 26 games including seven power play points and 84 shots. However, it's more likely he won't play again until the playoffs.
Ray Emery, G4/22/2013 11:38:00 AM
Description: Chicago goalie Ray Emery (lower-body injury) is questionable for Monday's game against Vancouver.
Insight: The injury doesn't seem to be a major issue, but the team is playing it safe so it doesn't turn into something bigger. You can do that when you have two excellent goaltenders. Emery is 16-1-0 this season with a 1.91 GAA and .923 save percentage and Corey Crawford is 18-4-5 with a 1.99 GAA and .924 save percentage.
Michal Rozsival, D4/22/2013 11:38:00 AM
Description: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival is probable for Monday's game against Vancouver.
Insight: Rozsival has no goals this season, but does have 11 assists and a solid +18 rating. It's easy to have a good plus-minus rating playing in front of Corey Crawford and Ray Emery.
Ray Emery, GHot4/18/2013 5:49:00 PM
Description: Chicago goalie Ray Emery won't dress for Friday's game against Nashville due to a lower-body injury. SOURCE: Chicago Tribune

Description: Chicago forward Patrick Sharp is very close to returning, but we have yet to get an exact return date.
Insight: Sharp has 18 points in 24 games this season but he hasn't played since March 6. Since the team has all but clinched the top spot in the division they can error on the side of caution.
Dave Bolland, C4/6/2013 11:13:00 AM
Description: Chicago center Dave Bolland will miss Saturday's game against Nashville with a foot injury.
Insight: Bolland tried to come back several times but was done for good by the second period. The center's production (7 G, 7 A) this season is underwhelming considering he always skates with Patrick Kane.
Marian Hossa, RW4/3/2013 4:55:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa (upper body) is expected to return to the lineup Thursday against St. Louis. SOURCE: Chicago Tribune
Insight: Hossa hasn't played since March 18. He's had a nice season so far (13 goals, 10 assists, +11) but he has a history of getting banged up and is no lock to stay healthy for the rest of the season.
Dave Bolland, C4/2/2013 5:00:00 PM
Description: Chicago center Dave Bolland is day-to-day with a foot injury. He suffered the injury by blocking a shot off his foot midway through the first period Monday. SOURCE: CSNChicago.com
Insight: Bolland tried to come back several times but was done for good by the second period. The center's production (7 G, 7 A) this season is underwhelming considering he always skates with Patrick Kane.
Michal Handzus, C4/1/2013 7:07:00 PM
Description: The Sharks dealt center Michal Handzus to Chicago Monday for a fourth round draft pick.
Insight: Handzus has scored just once in 28 games this season. We're not expecting him to be much of a factor down the stretch.
Dave Bolland, C3/31/2013 3:50:00 PM
Description: Chicago center Dave Bolland netted two goals Sunday in a win over the Red Wings.
Insight: Before Sunday, Bolland hadn't scored a goal in over a month. Despite the Blackhawks losing just five games in 2013, Bolland has managed to collect a -2 rating in 28 games this season.
Brandon Saad, LWHot3/31/2013 3:46:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks left wing Brandon Saad collected three points Sunday in a 7-1 victory over Detroit.

Insight: Hossa hasn't played since March 18. He's had a nice season so far (13 goals, 10 assists, +11) but he has a history of getting banged up.

Insight: Emery is undefeated this season at 11-0-0 with a 2.26 GAA.
Marian Hossa, RW3/26/2013 5:37:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa skated Tuesday but he is doubtful to return from his upper-body injury Tuesday against the Flames.
Insight: Hossa hasn't played since last Monday. He's had a nice season so far (13 goals, 10 assists, +11) but he has a history of getting banged up.
Marian Hossa, RW3/25/2013 8:23:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville is hopeful that right wing Marian Hossa will be able to return from his upper body injury as soon as this weekend. SOURCE: Chicago Tribune
Insight: Hossa hasn't played since last Monday. He's had a nice season so far (13 goals, 10 assists, +11) and fantasy owners are probably anxious to see him get back on the ice.
Andrew Shaw, C3/25/2013 1:08:00 PM
Description: Chicago winger Andrew Shaw missed Sunday's practice due to illness, but is expected to play Monday night.
Insight: Shaw has seven goals and four assists in 30 games playing primarily with Viktor Stalberg and Bryan Bickell on the third line. He's scored just one point in his last six contests and has very little fantasy value.
Marian Hossa, RW3/25/2013 1:03:00 PM
Description: Chicago right wing Marian Hossa (upper body) is expected to miss Monday's game against Los Angeles.
Insight: Hossa is averaging nearly a point per game this season (23 points in 28 contests), but it's tough to score from the press box. Fantasy owners need him back for the stretch drive.
Marian Hossa, RW3/23/2013 3:42:00 PM
Description: Chicago right wing Marian Hossa (upper body) is not expected to play Monday against the Kings. He didn't skate Friday after missing Wednesday's game.
Insight: It sounds like he will only need one more game off before he can return. "(Hossa's) doing alright," coach Joel Quenneville said, according to the Chicago Tribune. "Hopefully he'll get on the ice on Sunday. He's progressing." Hossa is averaging nearly a point per game this season (23 points in 28 contests).
Patrick Sharp, RW3/20/2013 11:30:00 AM
Description: Chicago's Patrick Sharp (shoulder) is making progress according to coach Joel Quenneville, but we still have no timetable for his return.
Insight: Sharp has 18 points in 24 games this season so he isn't an easy guy to replace. He is expected to begin skating Thursday or Friday, so we should know more by the end of the week.
Marian Hossa, RW3/20/2013 11:26:00 AM
Description: Chicago right wing Marian Hossa has been downgraded to doubtful for Wednesday's game after leaving Monday's contest due to a hard hit from the Avs Ryan O'Byrne.
Insight: Hossa is averaging nearly a point per game this season (23 points in 28 contests) and despite his age (34) and 15 seasons in the league is still playing at a top level. Hopefully this will be a short-lived injury.
Marian Hossa, RW3/19/2013 9:46:00 AM
Description: Chicago right wing Marian Hossa is questionable for Wednesday's game after leaving Monday's contest due to a hard hit from the Avs Ryan O'Byrne.
Insight: Hossa is averaging nearly a point per game this season (23 points in 28 contests) and despite his age (34) and 15 seasons in the league is still playing at a top level. Hopefully this will be a short-lived injury.
Marian Hossa, RW3/17/2013 9:46:00 AM
Description: Chicago right wing Marian Hossa contributed a pair of goals Saturday in an 8-1 thrashing at Dallas.
Insight: Hossa has already been in the league for 15 seasons but it looks like he could easily play another 15. Most players lose a step by the time they get to their mid-30s. Don't tell that to Hossa though. He's averaging nearly a point per game this season (23 points in 27 contests).
Jonathan Toews, C3/17/2013 9:38:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews continued his terrific season Saturday in a rout of Dallas.
Insight: Toews embarrassed the Stars by collecting three points (two goals, one assist) in 16 and a half minutes of ice time. The Chicago captain has been delivering in all phases of the fantasy game this season (13 goals, 13 assists, +15, 19 penalty minutes). It's easy to see why Toews is in the MVP discussion.
Patrick Kane, RW3/10/2013 10:10:00 PM
Description: Chicago right wing Patrick Kane racked up three points Sunday in a loss to Edmonton.
Insight: That gives Kane an even 30 points for the season. He's scoring at a rate of 1.15 points per game this season. That represents a new career-high for the 24-year-old.
Andrew Shaw, C3/8/2013 12:39:00 PM
Description: Chicago winger Andrew Shaw is questionable for Friday's game against Colorado after taking an elbow to the head in Wednesday's game.
Insight: Shaw has six goals and four assists in 24 games last season playing primarily with Viktor Stalberg and Bryan Bickell on the third line.
Steve Montador, D3/8/2013 12:36:00 PM
Description: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Steve Montador is probable for Friday's game against Colorado. He's missed the Blackhawks first 24 games with a concussion.
Insight: Montador's performance last season was significantly lower than his previous seasons with Buffalo and Boston. At this point, with the injury on top of weak numbers, he's not a fantasy-worthy defenseman.
Marian Hossa, RW3/8/2013 12:26:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa is questionable for Friday's game against Colorado with an upper-body injury.
Insight: Hossa was a late scratch on Wednesday. He's a must start when in uniform, posting 10 goals and eight assists for the still undefeated Blackhawks (21-0-3).
Patrick Sharp, RW3/7/2013 11:06:00 AM
Description: Chicago's Patrick Sharp will need 2-to-3 weeks to recover from the shoulder injury he suffered Wednesday against the Avalanche. SOURCE: Nick Cotsonika, Yahoo
Insight: Sharp already has 18 points this season so he isn't an easy guy to replace. Hopefully for fantasy owners he'll be back on the shorter end of the 2-to-3 week window.
Ray Emery, GHot3/6/2013 10:48:00 PM
Description: Chicago goalie Ray Emery improved to 10-0 after Wednesday's win over Colorado.
Insight: Emery's strong play this season has moved him into a timeshare with Corey Crawford. The Blackhawks never seem to lose and neither does Emery (20 saves on 22 shots on Wednesday). If you've been starting Emery in net lately, odds are, your fantasy team is doing just fine.
Daniel Carcillo, LW3/6/2013 10:42:00 PM
Description: Daniel Carcillo's first goal of the season couldn't have come at a better time. The goal gave Chicago a 3-2 lead with 50 seconds left in the game, extending the Blackhawks' record points streak to 24 games.
Insight: The goal was assisted by Viktor Stalberg and Marcus Kruger. It was Carcillo's first goal in almost 16 months (his last goal came against Edmonton on November 13, 2011).
Patrick Sharp, RW3/6/2013 10:26:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks right wing Patrick Sharp left Wednesday's game in the third period after taking a hit from Ryan O'Byrne against the boards.
Insight: The unstoppable Blackhawks have received contributions from everyone on the team this season so Sharp's numbers are down a bit but he's still a strong fantasy forward. It's unclear what his injury is.
Marian Hossa, RW3/6/2013 8:30:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa will miss Wednesday's game with an upper-body injury, according to Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago.
Insight: Hossa didn't suffer a known injury Tuesday night so this is a surprise.
Ray Emery, GHot3/6/2013 7:19:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks backup goalie Ray Emery will start Wednesday against the Avalanche.
Insight: Emery, who has seen more action due to Corey Crawford's injuries, has gone 9-0 with a 2.02 GAA this season. Both netminders should be owned in all leagues.
Patrick Kane, RW3/3/2013 6:55:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane helped Chicago extend its point streak to 22 games by scoring the game-tying goal Sunday against the Red Wings with 2:02 remaining in the third period.
Insight: Kane only had one goal in his last nine games prior to Sunday but he still has 11 goals and 26 points through 22 games thanks to a hot start to the season.
Corey Crawford, G3/3/2013 4:20:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford looked sharp Sunday in his return from an upper body injury.
Insight: Crawford let in just one goal on 33 shots and stoned the Red Wings on all three of their chances in the shootout. The win improves Chicago to 19-0-3 on the season. The team's 28-game point streak is the second-longest in NHL history. Philadelphia had a 35-game streak in 1979-80.
Corey Crawford, G3/1/2013 7:31:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said that goaltender Corey Crawford is "good to go" after suffering an upper-body injury Thursday night. "He didn't seem too bad after the game and he was fine this morning," Quenneville said, according to Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune. Ray Emery will still start Friday's game but Crawford should take the next one.
Insight: Crawford's injury is not related to the one that kept him out of four games earlier this season. Fantasy owners can prepare to have him back Sunday.
Ray Emery, GHot3/1/2013 11:28:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks backup goalie Ray Emery will likely draw another start Friday versus Columbus as starter Corey Crawford is dealing with an injury which caused him to leave Thursday's game with St. Louis
Insight: Emery is 8-0-0 with a 1.92 GAA and a .931 save percentage and should be started while Crawford is sidelined.
Corey Crawford, G3/1/2013 11:26:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford exited Thursday's game after the first period with an upper body injury and is doubtful for Friday's game against Columbus.
Insight: Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said the injury is not related to the one that kept him out of four games earlier this season. The goaltending duties will fall to Ray Emery, who has played brilliantly this season, going 8-0-0 with a 1.92 GAA and .931 SV%.
Corey Crawford, G2/28/2013 9:59:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford exited Thursday's game after the first period.
Insight: There's been no word yet on why Crawford never came out for the start of the second period but we're guessing it has something to do with the upper body injury that caused him to miss time earlier in the month. Ray Emery has come on to take Crawford's place.
Corey Crawford, G2/28/2013 12:50:00 PM
Description: Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford will start against the Blues on Thursday night.
Insight: Crawford returned from an upper-body injury with a shutout of Columbus on Sunday to improve to 8-0-3 with a 1.50 GAA. Be sure to have him active in all fantasy lineups Thursday.
Dave Bolland, C2/25/2013 10:17:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks centerman Dave Bolland is doubtful for Monday's game against Edmonton with an upper body injury.
Insight: Bolland finished last season with 19 goals and 18 assists. He started this season quickly (three goals in five games), but has just two points in Chicago's last seven games. He's on pace for a 21-point season, hardly fantasy worthy for a center.
Daniel Carcillo, LW2/22/2013 9:49:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks winger Daniel Carcillo seems recovered from his knee injury, but still hasn't returned to the ice.
Insight: Carcillo knows how to pile up penalty minutes, but has a limited scoring touch. Until he starts dressing on a regular basis he won't be a contributor to any fantasy rosters.
Brent Seabrook, D2/22/2013 9:45:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook has been upgraded to probable for Friday's game against San Jose while dealing with a lower body injury. He missed Tuesday's game against Vancouver.
Insight: The Seabrook-Duncan Keith defensive pairing has produced well this season. Seabrook has eight points in 15 games and Keith has posted 10 points in 16 games.
Marian Hossa, RW2/22/2013 9:43:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa returned to practice on Thursday and hopes to play Friday against San Jose, though he still has more tests to pass before the team will allow him to play.
Insight: Hossa (eight goals, six assists in 16 games) exited Tuesday's game early after taking a blow to the head from Vancouver right wing Jannik Hansen (Hansen is currently serving a one-game suspension for the hit). He's a must start if he's in uniform.
Corey Crawford, G2/22/2013 9:37:00 AM
Description: CSN Chicago is reporting that Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford returned to practice on Thursday. He's been dealing with an undisclosed upper-body injury.
Insight: Crawford could still sit for Friday's contest against San Jose as backup Ray Emery has played extremely well in a substitute role. Emery is 6-0-0 with a 2.28 GAA and .925 save percentage. Crawford is unbeaten in regulation (7-0-3) with a 1.65 GAA and .935 SV%. It's a nice problem for coach Joel Quenneville.
Corey Crawford, G2/21/2013 5:42:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford has been cleared to play after missing nearly a week with an undisclosed upper-body injury. SOURCE: CSNChicago.com
Insight: Crawford is unbeaten in regulation (7-0-3) with a GAA of 1.65 and a SV% over .935 and has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through the first quarter of the season. Ray Emery (6-0-0) has already been named the starter for Friday's game so Crawford will watch from the bench for one more contest.
Marian Hossa, RW2/21/2013 4:35:00 PM
Description: Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports that Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa returned to practice on Thursday
Insight: Hossa (eight goals, six assists in 16 games) exited Tuesday's game early after taking a blow to the head from Vancouver right wing Jannik Hansen (Hansen is currently serving a one-game suspension for the hit). Hossa still needs to pass a few more concussion tests before he's cleared to play Friday against the Sharks but at least it looks like he's on the right track.
Brent Seabrook, D2/20/2013 12:39:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook is questionable for Friday's game against San Jose with a lower body injury. He already missed Tuesday's game against Vancouver.
Insight: Seabrook has eight points in 15 games, much closer to his 2010-11 pace of 48 points in 82 games than last season's (34 in 78).
Marian Hossa, RW2/20/2013 12:35:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa is questionable for Friday's game against San Jose after taking a hit to the back of his head from Jannik Hansen in the third period against Vancouver.
Insight: Hossa has started off strong with eight goals and six assist through his forst 16 games along with an excellent +6 rating. His absence will also effect Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad.
Corey Crawford, G2/20/2013 12:32:00 PM
Description: Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is doubtful for Friday's game against San Jose due to his upper body injury.
Insight: Crawford is unbeaten in regulation (7-0-3) with a GAA of 1.65 and a SV% over .935 and has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through the first quarter of the season. Ray Emery (6-0-0) has also played great and is likely to get another start as there is no need to rush back your starter when your backup is also undefeated.
Ray Emery, G2/19/2013 5:21:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks backup goalie Ray Emery will draw another start Tuesday versus Vancouver. Starter Corey Crawford is dealing with an upper-body injury and isn't ready to return despite skating Tuesday.
Insight: Emery is 5-0-0 with a 2.17 GAA and a .929 save percentage and should be used while Crawford is sidelined. The Blackhawks have picked up a point in all 15 games this season with a 12-0-3 record.
Corey Crawford, G2/19/2013 11:18:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford is doubtful for Tuesday's game against Vancouver due to his upper body injury.
Insight: Crawford is still unbeaten in regulation (7-0-3) with a GAA of 1.65 and a SV% over .935 and has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through the first quarter of the season. Ray Emery (5-0-0) has also played great and is likely to get another start as there is no need to rush back your starter when your backup is also undefeated.
Patrick Sharp, RW2/17/2013 6:33:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks right wing Patrick Sharp tallied his third goal of the season Sunday against Los Angeles. Sharp attempted three shots and spent four minutes in the sin bin.
Insight: Sharp's SOG are down from 3.55 per game over the last three seasons to just 2.67 this season, and he's had some bad luck with a .075 scoring percentage on 40 shots. The forward has made up for his lack of goals with 10 assists in 15 games.
Brent Seabrook, D2/17/2013 6:31:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook had a goal and an assist Sunday against the Kings.
Insight: Seabrook has eight points in 15 games, closer to his 2010-11 pace of 48 points in 82 games than last season's (34 in 78).
Ray Emery, G2/16/2013 2:40:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks backup goalie Ray Emery will put his undefeated record on the line Sunday against the Kings with starter Corey Crawford sidelined by an upper body injury.
Insight: Emery is 4-0-0 with a 2.21 GAA and a .930 save percentage and could be a one-time option for fantasy owners in need of a spot start.
Corey Crawford, G2/16/2013 2:38:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks beat writer Mark Lazerus is reporting that netminder Corey Crawford will not start on Sunday due to his upper body injury
Insight: Crawford is still unbeaten in regulation (7-0-3) with a GAA of 1.65 and a SV% over .935. He has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through the first quarter of the season. Ray Emery (4-0-0), who held San Jose to one goal, will get another start.
Ray Emery, G2/15/2013 1:20:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks backup goalie Ray Emery will make his first home start of the season Friday against San Jose.
Insight: Emery is 3-0-0 with a 2.59 GAA and a .920 save percentage and could be a one-time option for fantasy owners in need of a spot start. Emery has a career 2-2-0 record in four starts versus the Sharks.
Corey Crawford, G2/15/2013 1:15:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks beat writer Mark Lazerus is reporting that netminder Corey Crawford will not start on Sunday due to his upper body injury
Insight: Crawford is still unbeaten in regulation (7-0-3) with a GAA of 1.65 and a SV% over .935. He has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through the first quarter of the season. Ray Emery (4-0-0), who held San Jose to one goal, will get another start.
Jonathan Toews, C2/10/2013 10:37:00 PM
Description: Another game, another point for Jonathan Toews. The Blackhawks forward scored his sixth goal of the season Sunday against the Predators.
Insight: Toews has a goal in two straight games, five points over his last three and 12 on the season. He has scored at nearly a point-per-game pace over the last two seasons, so his performance through the first quarter of the 2013 season really isn't breaking news.
Corey Crawford, GHot2/10/2013 10:35:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford saved all 17 shots that came his way Sunday in a shutout of Nashville.
Insight: Crawford is still unbeaten in regulation (7-0-2) with a GAA of 1.62 and a SV% over .930. He has been one of the best goaltenders in the NHL through the first quarter of the season.
Patrick Kane, RWHot2/10/2013 10:33:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane is second in the NHL with 19 points in 12 games. He scored his ninth goal of the season Sunday at Nashville.
Insight: Kane's points have declined for the last two seasons following a career-high 88 in 2009-10, but the forward is still just 24 and appears to be harnessing his immense talents once again.
Ray Emery, G2/7/2013 5:51:00 PM
Description: The Blackhawks will go with Ray Emery in net Thursday against Phoenix.
Insight: Emery has won both of his starts this season while giving up six goals on 76 shots in 125 minutes. He hasn't had much of a chance to play since Corey Crawford has gone 6-0-2 with a 1.82 GAA in eight starts.
Dave Bolland, C2/4/2013 9:42:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks centerman Dave Bolland is questionable for Tuesday's game against San Jose with a right leg injury.
Insight: Bolland finished last season with 19 goals and 18 assists. He started this season quickly (three goals in five games), but has been held scoreless in Chicago's last four games.
Michal Rozsival, D2/1/2013 10:16:00 AM
Description: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival is questionable for Friday's game against Vancouver with a lower body injury. He practiced on Wednesday after missing Tuesday's workout.
Insight: Rozsival has a pair of assists in three games, but doesn't hold much long-term fantasy value. He posted just 13 points last season for Phoenix.
Corey Crawford, GHot1/30/2013 5:32:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford will start in goal Wednesday against the Wild.
Insight: Crawford is 5-0 with a 1.78 GAA in five starts and Chicago hasn't lost yet as a team (6-0). There's no reason you shouldn't start Crawford in fantasy leagues Wednesday.
Michal Rozsival, D1/30/2013 9:56:00 AM
Description: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival is questionable for Wednesday's game agianst Minnesota with a lower body injury. He missed Tuesday's practice, but was expected to be able to go in the morning skate.
Insight: Rozsival has a pair of assists in three games, but doesn't hold much fantasy value. He posted just 13 points last season for Phoenix.
Patrick Kane, RWHot1/26/2013 10:51:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane already has nine points in five games.
Insight: Kane's points have declined for the last two seasons following a career-high 88 in 2009-10, but the young forward appears to be turning things around. He has two goals and seven assists after dishing out two helpers Saturday against the Blue Jackets.
Jonathan Toews, C1/26/2013 10:49:00 PM
Description: Chicago center Jonathan Toews notched the deciding goal Saturday against the Blue Jackets.
Insight: Toews had 57 points in 59 games last season and he's on that type of pace early this year with three goals and two assists in five games.
Corey Crawford, GHot1/26/2013 4:08:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford will try to improve to 4-0 this season when he faces the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Insight: The Blackhawks are 4-0 as a team, with Ray Emery picking up the other win. Crawford has only given up six goals on 78 shots this season after posting a disappointing 2.72 GAA last season.
Corey Crawford, G1/24/2013 3:52:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford will try to continue his hot start Thursday against Dallas.
Insight: Crawford has won his first two starts while allowing four goals on 55 shots in 120 minutes. Crawford will likely start one of Chicago's two games this weekend in a back-to-back against Columbus and Detroit.
Corey Crawford, G1/22/2013 6:06:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford will be back between the pipes on Tuesday after getting Sunday off.
Insight: Crawford won the season opener with 19 saves in 21 chances. He won 30 a season ago but his GAA (2.72) was a little high and his SV% (.903) a tad low.
Daniel Carcillo, LW1/20/2013 4:54:00 PM
Description: The Chicago Tribune reports that Daniel Carcillo's knee injury will sideline him for the next month.
Insight: The Blackhawks left wing suffered the injury late in Saturday's victory over the defending champion L.A. Kings. Carcillo is only owned in about two percent of ESPN fantasy leagues so his absence shouldn't alter anything too drastically.
Daniel Carcillo, LW1/19/2013 9:26:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks left wing Daniel Carcillo suffered a leg injury late in Saturday's win over the Kings.
Insight: Carcillo was limited to just 28 games last season because of an ACL injury. He's never scored more than 13 goals in a single season and probably won't have much of an impact in fantasy.
Marian Hossa, RW1/19/2013 8:45:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks winger Marian Hossa lit the lamp twice in his season debut Saturday against Los Angeles.
Insight: The 34-year-old has scored 20 goals or more in each of his last 12 seasons. Repeating that feat could be a difficult task in the lockout shortened 2013 campaign but he's already off to a good start.
Andrew Shaw, C1/19/2013 12:39:00 PM
Description: It appears that Chicago winger Andrew Shaw will play a lot at the center spot on the Blackhawks' checking third line this season.
Insight: Former third line center Dave Bolland will center the No. 2 line and the team had Shaw play center with Rockford of the AHL to get ready for this move. Shaw had 12 goals and 11 assists in 37 games last season.
Marcus Kruger, C1/17/2013 10:04:00 AM
Description: Blackhawks center Marcus Kruger (flu) skated with the team on Wednesday after missing two days of training camp. SOURCE: Chicago Sun-Times
Insight: Kruger skated on Chicago's second-most used line last season but only scored 26 points in 71 games.
Steve Montador, D1/15/2013 11:33:00 AM
Description: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Steve Montador is out indefinitely after failing his concussion tests on Saturday.
Insight: Montador's performance last season was significantly lower than his previous seasons with Buffalo and Boston. At this point, with the injury on top of weak numbers, he's not a fantasy-worthy defenseman.
Marian Hossa, RW1/14/2013 5:02:00 PM
Description: Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa said after Day 2 of training camp that he is recovered from his concussion and ready for Saturday's season opener. SOURCE: Chicago Tribune
Insight: Hossa was crushed by an illegal check from Phoenix' Raffi Torres during the first round of the playoffs last April and suffered a concussion. However, he said he has already cleared one hurdle by taking an accidental big hit from teammate Brandon Bollig during practice. Hossa was a top-20 fantasy asset last season, but keep in mind it was the first time he stayed fully healthy since 2006-07.
