Mike Cammalleri, LW9/29/2014 6:28:00 PM
Description: Devils coach Pete DeBoer is not 100 percent sure free agent signee Michael Cammalleri will play with the top line this year according to the Bergen Record.
Insight: DeBoer actually said that he is not sold on Travis Zajac, Jaromir Jagr and Cammalleri as his top line and one has to assume that Cammalleri would be the odd man out. Zajac and Jagr had pretty good chemistry last season. Still, Cammalleri was brought in to help the Devils score, so he is still the best bet to occupy a top-line spot.
Sean Monahan, C9/23/2014 2:15:00 PM
Description: Calgary winger Sean Monahan posted a solid 22-goal rookie season and we expect him to improve on that total this season.
Insight: If the soon-to-be 20-year old lands on a line with Jiri Hudler he could take a significant jump, though at this time we think he'll be on the second line. We still like a five-goal improvement.
Mark Giordano, D9/23/2014 2:09:00 PM
Description: If you are looking for blueline scoring, look no further than Calgary defenseman Mark Giordano.
Insight: Giordano was second on the team in scoring with 47 points despite missing 18 games. TSN has projected 15 goals and 38 assists this season making him an elite fantasy defenseman.
Jiri Hudler, RW9/23/2014 2:06:00 PM
Description: Flames right wing Jiri Hudler led the team in scoring last season and we think will do it again in 2014-15.
Insight: Hudler scored 54 points last season and we're projecting 52 this time around. It will certainly depend on which linemates he gets paired with.
Matt Stajan, CCold9/23/2014 2:05:00 PM
Description: Calgary center Matt Stajan gets plenty of ice time, but isn't producing statistics for fantasy owners.
Insight: Stajan scored 14 goals with 19 assists last season and we have him producing in a slightly lower range in 2014-15 with 24 points.
Curtis Glencross, LW9/23/2014 2:02:00 PM
Description: Calgary left wing Curtis Glencross plays on the first line with Matt Stajan and Jiri Hudler, but has yet to prove he can put up fantasy-worthy number.
Insight: He totaled just 24 points last season and TSN projections have him with a 15 goal, 15 assist projection which just isn't enough for fantasy owners.
Jonas Hiller, G 7/1/2014 8:45:00 PM
Description: Goalie Jonas Hiller is now a member of the Calgary Flames.
Insight: Calgary gave him a two-year, $9 million contract on Tuesday. Hiller had 29 wins, a 2.48 GAA and a .911 SV% with the Anaheim Ducks last season and owns a .916 SV% in his career. The Flames were one of the worst possession teams in the NHL last season and are still in rebuilding mode, so Hiller's fantasy value takes a big hit with this move.
