Week 16 Player Fantasy Rankings - Wide Receivers

By Jesse Pantuosco, Fantasy Sports Writer

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network.com) - I hate to say I told you so but ... wait, never mind. That's a lie. I love to say I told you so.

I know that sounds cocky but we're wrong so often that it's nice to get something right once in a while (Remember three months ago when I said Ray Rice would be better than Matt Forte? Hopefully not).

In a column I wrote back in August titled "Garcon is so money" (You should read it, especially if you're a fan of the movie "Swingers"), I explained why Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon would break out in 2013.

And it came true! Garcon has been a beast, racking up 1,146 yards through the air in his 14 games this season. Only Houston receiver Andre Johnson has caught more passes than Garcon in 2013. In fact, Garcon, who sits at 96 receptions with two games to go, is ten catches away from tying Art Monk's team record for receptions in a single season.

The touchdowns haven't always been there (just four this season) but the targets have been. Kirk Cousins and Robert Griffin have thrown it in Garcon's general vicinity a whopping 155 times this season, third-most in the NFL. That volume has allowed Garcon to set new career-highs in almost every category.

And unlike the Wes Welkers of the world who fall to the ground after catching it, Garcon can make plays. His 515 yards after the catch are the fourth-most in the NFL this season.

Ignore the logo on his helmet. Even with the Shanahan family and RG3 imploding all around him, Garcon is still one of the safer bets in fantasy. He's an obvious top-ten play this week against Dallas, a team that got lit up by journeyman Matt Flynn in Week 15.
