Insight: After missing all of 2012 with a torn ACL, Martinez has struggled to get going in 2013. He hit .221 in April and even after Tuesday is hitting .221 in May.

Insight: Reynolds' average has started to fall as his strikeouts (45 in 42 games) have piled up, but the first baseman still has 12 homers and 37 RBI in 146 at-bats. Facing Scherzer is likely to continue his drive toward another "strikeout title."
