Description: Braves catcher Evan Gattis hit a grand slam Wednesday against the Twins.
Insight: Gattis hadn't started since May 14, but he hit two pinch-hit homers in the last three games prior to Wednesday. He has 10 homers and 27 RBI, and the Braves are going to have to find a way to get his bat in the lineup more often.

Insight: Perez suffered the injury Monday when he ran into a railing while trying to catch a foul popup. Manager Ned Yost said the catcher is likely to start Thursday against the Angels.
Description: Minnesota catcher Joe Mauer is not in the lineup for Wednesday afternoon's game with Atlanta.
Insight: Typical day game after a night game off, but since Mauer is 4-for-5 in his career against Braves starter Paul Maholm, fantasy owners can be rightly disappointed.
Description: Mets catcher John Buck is hitless in eight career at-bats versus Cincinnati right-hander Mat Latos with three strikeouts.
Insight: Considering it's a day game after a night game and Buck's record against Latos, fantasy owners should not expect Buck to start on Wednesday. After a huge April, Buck's May numbers are well below expectations (.196, 1 HR, 6 RBI, .593 OPS).

Insight: The 25-year-old has consistently hit .300 over his minor league career, but this is the first time he's shown this much power. Should the White Sox tire of Tyler Flowers' .195 batting average, they could give the youngster a shot later this season.
Description: Minnesota catcher Joe Mauer is just 1-for-7 versus Atlanta right-hander Tim Hudson.
Insight: It isn't often that this career .323 hitter has a bad matchup, but today is one of them. In fact, the heart of the Twins lineup; Mauer, Justin Morneau and Josh Willingham are a combined 4-for-37 (.108) off Hudson. Tuesday doesn't figure to be a good offensive game for Minnesota.

Insight: Wieters is batting .230 with six homers, 23 RBI and a .714 OPS this year, but has just two hits in his last 18 at-bats. This unfavorable matchup isn't likely to help those numbers.
Description: Tampa Bay catcher Jose Molina is hitless in eight at-bats versus Toronto knuckleballer R.A. Dickey.
Insight: Molina isn't much of an offensive threat to begin with (.221, .590 OPS) so his lack of success against Dickey shouldn't change many lineups. He's representative of the Rays' team lack of success against Dickey. Only one player on the roster has a batting average above .200 against Dickey (Kelly Johnson - .286).
Description: Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario is 6-for-14 with two homers, seven RBI and five runs over his last three games.
Insight: Rosario's 28/6 K/BB is subpar, but he has raised his line-drive rate from 17.3 percent to 21.7 percent since 2012 and has a 20.5 percent HR/FB on a 41.5 percent flyball rate. With all those flyballs, he's perfect for Coors Field.

Description: Rockies catcher Wilin Rosario is a career .455 hitter (1.509 OPS) versus two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum.

Description: Astros catcher Carlos Corporan went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and two RBI Wednesday afternoon against Detroit.
Insight: Corporan (.312, 3 HR) has outperformed Jason Castro (.241, 3 HR), but he has limited fantasy value even to NL-only owners while he's Houston's backup.
Description: Pirates catcher Russell Martin is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against Milwaukee.
Insight: Martin's return may have been accelerated by the Brewers swiping six bases off backup catcher Michael McKenry. Martin has been an offensive force this season as well, batting .263 with six homers, 11 RBI and an .884 OPS.
Description: Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia is not starting Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay.
Insight: No injury, just a day of rest for the catcher, who has played 29 games this season, batting .263 with four homers and 11 RBI. His 36 strikeouts in 95 at-bats is a little concerning, but catchers with an .828 OPS are hard to come by.
Description: Pirates catcher Russell Martin is questionable for Monday's game against Milwaukee due to neck soreness, but was available to pinch hit on Sunday if needed.
Insight: Martin dealt with the injury earlier this week and had a flareup Friday. Michael McKenry will continue to handle the catching duties while Martin is sidelined and he's produced a solid .831 OPS over the 14 games he's played this season.

Insight: Montero is off to a slow start, batting .203, and has been dropped from the cleanup spot. Kendrick is a much improved pitcher this season, so history may not repeat itself in this matchup.
Description: Cleveland catcher Carlos Santana is a .375 hitter (9-for-24) versus Detroit starter Rick Porcello with three home runs and a 1.215 OPS.
Insight: Santana (.350, 7 HR, 16 RBI) is one of the league's top-hitting catchers and leads the AL in OPS (1.097). Add in a favorable matchup and he's a must start.

Description: Tampa Bay catcher Jose Molina has three extra base hits, including a pair of home runs, in six at-bats versus Padres starter Edinson Volquez.

Description: Cleveland catcher Carlos Santana is just a .100 hitter (2-for-20) versus Detroit starter Max Scherzer.
Insight: The Indians gave Santana Thursday off, but it probably would have been a better idea to give him Friday off. Santana (.358, 7 HR, 15 RBI) is one of the league's top-hitting catchers, but this is an unfavorable matchup.
Description: Blue Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia won't be of use to any fantasy owners Thursday against Tampa Bay lefty David Price.
Insight: He's managed just one hit in 13 at bats versus the 2012 AL Cy Young winner. If possible, Arencibia (.252, 9 HR, 18 RBI) should be avoided on Thursday.
Description: Joe Mauer has had a productive series against Boston (7-for-14, five 2B) and he should have another strong game Thursday against John Lackey.
Insight: The Twins catcher has ten hits in 23 at bats against the Red Sox righthander (.435). Mauer is a .324 career hitter at Fenway Park.
Description: Cleveland catcher Carlos Santana will receive an off day Thursday against Oakland. SOURCE: Jordan Bastian, MLB.com

Description: Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzynski has been moved to the disabled list.
Insight: Pierzynski (.263, 4 HR, 11 RBI) is out with a strained oblique. The move is backdated to May 6th, meaning that Pierzynski would be eligible to return on May 21st. Of course, it's possible that he could need more time.
Description: Giants catcher Buster Posey is not in Wednesday's getaway day game against the Phillies.
Insight: No injury, just the normal day game after a night game off. He's batting .282 with 4 HR and 19 RBI. Solid, but not the production we are used to from the 2012 NL MVP. The day off should do him some good.
Description: Hot-hitting Pittsburgh catcher Russell Martin (.367 over the past two weeks) faces a tough matchup on Wednesday and is not in the starting lineup.
Insight: He's a career .176 hitter (3-for-17) against Seattle right-hander Felix Hernandez. Martin sat out Tuesday's game with a stiff neck. Michael McKenry started behind the plate on Tuesday.
Description: Athletics catcher John Jaso is a career .444 hitter (4-for-9) with a pair of homers and a 1.768 OPS against Cleveland starter Justin Masterson.
Insight: Jaso has been leading off for the A's with Coco Crisp sidelined by injury and has done well in the role with a .467 OBP over seven games.
Description: Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is just a .167 hitter (3-for-18) against Cubs right-hander Carlos Villanueva.
Insight: Molina is having another fine all-around season, batting .333 and playing great behind the plate. It's a getaway afternoon game after a night game, so he'll likely get the day to rest anyway and avoiding this matchup is the bonus.
